While the issue of boys’ dominance of the curriculum has a long history, the article examines this phenomenon in a contemporary context, through an empirical study with female teachers designing English curriculum around girls’ media in a coeducational secondary school in Victoria, Australia. In this space, teachers, and the researcher, produce and perform both individual gendered identities and plans for the identities of future student subjects, while negotiating subject positions made available to girls and women in broader social contexts. In this instance, negotiations that take place during the development of a unit of work on Mattel's Barbie website form the basis of feminist discourse analysis, enabling us to ‘take stock’ in thinking about what curriculum design is, about where the past is situated in relation to the present, and to question why, within a discursive feminist/postfeminist entanglement, the heritage of feminist intellectual thought in this area seems absent. 相似文献

This paper presents ideas and a design for a Hypermedia-Based Learning Environment, HBLE for short. As the system is in implementation phase, we are also able to present some implementation techniques, problems and solutions. HBLE offers tools and methods for course development, teaching, maintenance, and different learner-centered study strategies. The system also has information acquisition functionality for research purposes.We study structuring the learning material and how to adapt it for individual students. As collaboration is an important aspect of learning process, the system also includes tools and research instruments for collaborative activities between the actors in the learning process. The concrete outcomes of the project are a platform for Web-based courses and experimental courseware. © IFIP, published by Kluwer Academic Publishers 相似文献

ABSTRACT This article suggests that there are important connections between design and technology and mathematics curricula and that these are not fully made in the United Kingdom National Curriculum. Using three examples, the authors show how there are real opportunities in design and technology teaching for incorporating mathematical learning, but that all too often these are lost because they are not made explicit. Again, the authors argue that too much mathematics teaching is dominated by abstract investigation rather than practical problem‐solving. They conclude by suggesting that teaching should transcend subject boundaries and be concerned with real‐life situations. 相似文献

The goal of this research effort is to provide insights on what core needs and difficulties exist toward the implementation
of ICT in higher education in emerging countries and how a consortium like LINC can best support these efforts. An exploratory
research design combining a survey, on-site interviews, participant observation and document analysis were employed to answer
the research questions. Main challenges in establishing technology- based learning environments were identified in the area
of pedagogies, finances, technological infrastructure, cultural change, organization, and management. LINC, as an non-political
organization embedded in an academic environment, can take an important role in facilitating the dialogue among participants
through various platforms, take an active role in promoting joint programs and assist with efforts to “localize” tools and
practice.

以德国为代表的\"教育学—教学论\"范式和以美国为代表的\"教育科学—课程论\"范式是教育研究领域两种重要的、不同的研究范式。德国的\"教育学—教学论\"范式以唯理主义哲学为理论基础,强调从整体上培养人的问题,并从整体和人的全面发展的角度去理解和解决教育和教学问题;相对而言美国的\"教育科学-课程论\"范式则缺乏这种整体主义的视角。究其原因,除了跟两国不同的历史文化和哲学范式有关外,还与德国\"教育学—教学论\"范式中一个核心概念\"教化\"有着密不可分的关系。由于历史的原因,这两大研究范式并存于我国目前的教育研究和实践中。澄清二者之间的具体差异以及造成差异的根源是解决困扰我国教育研究和实践的途径之一。 相似文献

In the White Paper on Post-School Education and Training of 2013, the South African Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) encourages the use of digital technology where appropriate to enhance access, improve communication and generally optimise student engagement. As a consequence, higher education and open and distance learning (ODL) must contemplate a transformation that requires high quality teaching and learning. Faculty teaching staff must therefore be reskilled not only to teach in this digitised environment, but also to become technocratic learners. In this article, we report on a literature review and an exploratory study that we conducted of sources published from 2003 to 2014 in order to map the requirements for the planning of an online course. We identify the elements needed to ensure student success in this environment, focusing on course design and the self-efficacy of students. We end with an attempt to explain why many online courses do not seem to reflect a scholarly approach. 相似文献

This paper traces the genesis of the MIT OpenCourseWare project from its initial strategic precursors in 1999 and 2000, through
its launch in 2001 and its subsequent evolution. The story told here illuminates the interplay among institutional leadership,
and strategic planning, and with university culture in launching major educational technology enterprises. It also shows how
initiatives can evolve in unexpected ways, and can even surpass their initial goals. The paper concludes with an overview
of challenges facing OpenCourseWare in moving from the end of its production ramp-up and towards sustainability.

Open educational resources (OER) and open educational practices (OEP) are relatively new areas in educational research. How OER and OEP can help practitioners enhance curricula is one of a number of under-researched topics. This article aims to enable practitioners to identify and implement appropriate open practices to enhance higher education curricula. To that aim, we put forward a framework of four open educational practices based on patterns of OER reuse (‘as is’ or adapted), mapped against the processes of curriculum design and delivery. The framework was developed from the in-depth analysis of 20 cases of higher education practitioners, which revealed patterns of OER reuse across disciplines, institutions and needs. For each open practice we offer evidence, examples and ideas for application by practitioners. We also put forward recommendations for institutional policies on OER and OEP. 相似文献

The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of immersive virtual field trips (VFTs) with head-mounted displays (HMDs) on the presence and perceived learning. A mixed-method approach was used to obtain an overall understanding of students' experiences with this immersive technology in an elementary classroom. Both quantitative and qualitative data were collected from 27 elementary-school students through presence surveys and reflection papers. Statistical analyses were performed to compare immersive VFTs with traditional VFTs regarding students' virtual presence. Further, an inductive content analysis was performed to analyze reflection papers. The results showed an overall enhancement in virtual presence with the use of immersive VFTs. However, students felt that learning was not favorable with HMDs. The result of this study provides practical implications for the use of immersive VFTs in classroom settings. 相似文献

质量保证在远程开放教学中起着至关重要的作用。电子技术的普及使得更多的学生能够参与到学习中。远程教学已经由教师为中心转变成以学生为中心,此外借助最新的技术,教学质量也得到了很大的提升,远程教学可以通过印刷品、音频、视频或者数字媒介提供各种课程,而且互联网、卫星、微波设备以及光学纤维都可以保证教学内容的有效传输。如今教学质量已成为全球关注的问题,因此,本篇论文研究影响远程开放教育教学质量的不同因素,以求在不断变化的全球局势中满足学生需求。在如今这样的竞争环境中,除了教学活动和学习项目,学习项目的实施以及学习资源中心(学习中心)的建立也对确保教学质量和学生满意度有着十分重要的作用。在以知识为主导的社会中,远程开放教育院校利用不同的教学方法,对整个教育起着至关重要的促进作用。远程开放教育院校在教与学的过程中特别针对不断变化的全球情况,采取了多样的方法。通过在教学进度和课程选择上提供适当的灵活性,教学设计更容易被学生所接受。学生可以了解整个课程的设置从而在保证终身学习的同时,更能准备好迎接具有竞争力的就业市场的挑战。 相似文献

New Qualitative Research on Conscientizing Preservice and In-Service Teachers, our purpose with this conceptual essay is twofold. First, we historicize and characterize the critical knowledges deployed in this special issue as a broad array of criticalities. Second, we provide a reading of these criticalities that together we tentatively call critical and decolonizing education sciences. 为保证网上教学的质量,帮助教师对网上课程的教学环境进行评定,改善和增进网上教学的实践,为远程学习者提供一个良好的网上教学课程的学习环境,利用香港公开大学提供的<远程网上学习环境量表>,选择安徽电大开放教育学院法学、金融学两个本科专业的学习者作为调查对象,对安徽电大开设的<消费者权益保护法>、<中国法律思想史>、<信托与租赁>、<国际结算>等四门网络课程进行问卷调查,得出如下结论:一是学习者对网上教学环境满意度较高;二是网络支撑环境较好,但缺乏网络知识常见问题解答;三是网络课程灵活性较高;四是网络教学能够促进师生、学习者之间的交互,但以学习者之间交互为基础的协作性学习氛围尚未形成,基于网络的布置、提交作业也未实现.围绕结论,文章作了进一步的讨论. 相似文献

This article offers evidence from a classroom-based research study in English secondary schools which developed an innovative approach to teaching in Design and Technology based on inclusive design (also known as universal design). The research evidence highlights how creative, problem-solving approaches in Design and Technology can be used to provide authentic, engaging learning experiences for students. This study, entitled ‘Designing our Tomorrows', introduced secondary school teachers and students to the principles and practices of inclusive design through an intervention using specially designed resources. In this article, findings from the study's qualitative pre- and post-intervention interviews are presented to illustrate how this type of approach can stimulate students' creativity and understanding of design. 相似文献
