In recent years, smartphones and tablets have been rapidly adopted by consumers worldwide. Within the United States, a growing number of school districts have incorporated tablets into classroom instruction. As mobile technology becomes further integrated into households and classrooms, parents, teachers, and students might need information for using the mobile devices for education. Yet little research exists to show the need. Using search query data from Google Trends, it was found that Internet users' information needs for mobile education have significantly increased since 2008. Moreover, Internet users in the United States, where fourth- and eighth-grade students were high performing in reading and mathematics in national assessments, demonstrated stronger information needs for mobile education. We also found a positive correlation between the Web information needs for mobile education and the achievement gap, suggesting an emerging trend of digital divide in mobile technology.  相似文献

通过对31个省(市、区)175所普通高校47170名2007级大一学生计算机资讯准备度以及网络使用情况的调查,发现大一学生家中计算机拥有率较低,计算机能力的自我认可程度普遍不高,计算机功能的使用停留在较低的层次,多数学生每周平均上网的总时间较少,每周平均上网工作项目的时间分布不合理,网页上的课程大纲及BBS上的讨论对大一学生选课的影响力不强,多数学生没有有效地利用网络资源。此外,除在家中拥有计算机方面只存在城乡差异外,在其他各个项目上均存在显著的性别差异与城乡差异。基于这些发现,本研究尝试着进行讨论、分析并提出一些建议。  相似文献

农民工作为继续教育重要的生源资源之一,其参与学习的愿意对继续教育的可持续发展以及对当前开放大学的建设有着直接的影响。利用浙江省11个地市1110份农民工调查问卷数据,基于继续教育生源资源视角,运行效用与层次分析框架,采用Logistic回归方法,对影响农民工参与继续教育学习意愿的主要因素进行分析。模型结果显示,农民工参与继续教育学习的意愿受个体、家庭、职业和学习组织特征等因素的影响,其中年龄、文化程度、家庭规模、就业区域、工作单位稳定性、学习费用、培训内容和学习预期对其影响显著,而性别、婚姻、月收入和学习方式对其影响不显著,并依此得出相应的研究结论与启示。在此基础上,对农民工参与开放大学的学习以及开放大学的建设进行展望。  相似文献

This paper adds to the sparse literature on the consequences of education–occupation mismatches. It examines the income penalty for field of education–occupation mismatches for men and women with higher education degrees in Sweden and reveals that the penalty for such mismatches is large for both men and women. For mismatched men the income penalty is about twice as large as that found for US men, whereas for women the penalty is of about the same size as for US women. Controlling for cognitive ability further establishes that the income penalty is not caused by a sorting by ability, at least for Swedish men. The income penalty for men decreases with work experience, which is an indication that education-specific skills and work experience are substitutes to some extent.  相似文献

Research indicates that significant groups of older people are using Internet/e-mail technology. Using data from a 2007 random sample of 1,680 New Zealanders aged 65–84, predictors of Internet/e-mail usage and the impact of usage on well-being were investigated. Gender, age, education, household composition, income, and work were significant predictors of Internet/e-mail usage. Significant positive relationships were also found between Internet/e-mail usage, self-rated health, leisure/recreation participation and leadership, and well-being. These research findings suggest that public policies should encourage older people to adopt Internet/e-mail technology to ensure continued participation, learning, and well-being throughout later years.  相似文献

Word-of-mouth (WOM) can be a powerful, persuasive source of information, but relatively little is understood about how consumers utilize information in service evaluations and how the source of WOM (e.g. friends, family) affects attitudes. The importance of WOM is acknowledged in the services context; however, the research field of higher education has found some inconsistent results concerning the impact of WOM. The aim of this study, with its focus on information processing, is to enhance the understanding of these varying results with data from international master's degree applicants. By means of structural equation modeling, the results suggest that the processing of WOM differs depending on the source and the difficulty of evaluation criteria. Information through some sources of WOM is mainly cognitively processed, whereas in others information is processed more as simple cues. Overall, insights are provided into the impact of WOM, and higher education marketing.  相似文献

消费者道德信念是消费者行为的先导。茂名市267名消费者道德信念的调查问卷统计分析表明:目前消费者道德信念基本符合社会预期,消费者道德信念与消费行为有背离现象,教育程度对消费者道德信念不存在显著性影响,性别对消费者道德信念的影响明显超过年龄、职业和收入等因素。针对消费者道德信念特征,企业可进一步细分市场并进行差异化营销,以提高经营绩效。  相似文献

There is very little argument that one of the major developments to have impacted in schools in the past decade is the rapid and world-wide development of information and communication technologies (ICT), particularly the Internet. In Hong Kong, reforms in the ICT teacher training policy, and the fact that Hong Kong is a ‘wired’ city, has resulted in pre-service teachers being well versed in the technical competencies of computer usage and its pedagogical manifestations. However, there has been scant attention paid to the fact that students are actively engaged in large-scale autonomous, teacher-less learning via the Internet. In this paper, it is argued that for teachers to be leaders in contemporary classrooms, teacher education programs need to focus more on the deeper and wider implications of ICT and the Internet in education than has hitherto been the practice.  相似文献

The Information Age is upon us and it heralds a new paradigm in the way universities conduct research. Lack of understanding and a cautionary stance towards the Internet has left many universities lagging far behind the needs of its student population. Research shows that both students and academics are struggling on their own to learn about these new channels of information with little, or no, guidance from their educational institution. 利用2002年数据,对子女的大学教育与家庭背景进行了计量回归分析,在回归中重点考察了父母收入、教育及职业对子女上大学的影响。实证研究结果表明,在中国城镇居民中,父母收入对子女上大学的机会有很大影响,这一影响比西方发达国家要大很多,说明在中国代际之间的不平等转移更为严重。同时,父母受教育情况与子女大学教育有正的显著相关关系,父亲的受教育程度对子女的影响更大。  相似文献
