The good, the bad and the ugly: teachers' perception of quality in fiction for adolescent readers

Recent years have seen a great development in fiction written for the adolescent market‐teenage fiction. This article seeks to explore the notion of quality in teenage fiction building on earlier research by Whitehead (1977), Hall and Coles (1999), and Benton (1995a) and using findings from interviews with teachers in secondary schools in the South West of England in 2003 and 2004, the first phase in a study into perceptions of quality in teenage fiction. Questions are raised about whether English teachers have sufficient knowledge of this genre of literature to support pleasure and progress in reading for adolescents and also whether teenage fiction should be more directly addressed in the curriculum perhaps through a school canon, which may apply educational criteria to define a body of literature that begins where the child is, but allows for clear progression in reading.     

The good,the bad and the wiki: Evaluating student‐generated content for collaborative learning

This paper explores the potential for wiki‐type open architecture software to promote and support collaborative learning through the use of student‐created content. It delineates some of the affordances and constraints of wiki software as an open architecture that has the potential to facilitate collaborative learning through community‐focused enquiry. It seeks to promote debate in this key area of development, and highlights some recent key contributions to the developing discourse on social software in what has been termed ‘the architecture of participation’.     

Engaging students through new literacies: the good, bad and curriculum of visual essays

In this article, we share our experiences working with students to read and/or write visual essays, texts that rely more heavily on images with minimal print text. We explore how students consider elements of design as they create a visual essay, which entails new forms of semiotic processing of the combinations of the visual, audio, textual, gestural and spatial. In particular, we share a case study of how one adolescent engages with an alternative to the standard essay format when he is not restricted by the use of words alone, but is encouraged to tap into the affordances of digital media, expressing himself multimodally by using words, images and sound.

利用PRO/E软件,对一种新悬挂式结构座椅进行建模.并用ADAMS软件对座椅的垂向振动特性进行仿真分析,提出该座椅进行结构参数化设计的具体方法.仿真结果证明悬挂式结构座椅具有频率稳定、舒适性好和适于步兵战车安装等特点.     

加拿大安大略省《幼儿园大纲》解读

加拿大安大略省从2010年开始推行全日制幼儿园,于2016年完成了《幼儿园大纲》的修订工作。修订后的新大纲提出了一个基于幼儿成长需求的幼儿园课程四框架,主张在探究文化中遵循基于游戏学习的基本原则,倡导多方合作协调的幼儿园公平和全纳教育,实施"让儿童的思考和学习看得见"的叙事性评价。这些对我国学前教育纲领性文件的修订、幼儿园课程改革都富有启发意义。我国学前教育纲领性文件也有必要融入文献、案例,兼具指导性和操作性,应当将全纳教育的理念渗透到幼儿教育实践之中,构建一个以儿童为本的幼儿园课程框架。     

南非“首席科学家计划”的实施及其启示

2005年,南非实施的首席科学家计划对提高南非的国际竞争力起到了重要作用。本文从首席科学家计划的实施背景、战略目标、实施方式、实施范围,首席科学家的评选、管理、评估等方面入手,介绍了首席科学家计划的具体内容和实施方法,总结了其有益经验,提出了加大对人才的资助力度、注重国家科研规划、重视高层次后备人才培养、加快开放步伐以吸引国际人才等建议来实施我国人才计划。

Weaving Together Undergraduate Research, Mentoring of Junior Faculty, and Assessment: The Case of an Interdisciplinary Program

Scholars in teaching and learning value student research and program assessment as strategies to promote excellence in undergraduate education. Yet, in practice, each can be complex and difficult to sustain. This case study demonstrates how undergraduate research, mentoring of junior faculty, and assessment can be integrated in ways that enrich the educational experiences of students and the professional development of faculty and improve research on teaching and learning. The authors describe a lively undergraduate research project that became tied to the mentoring of assistant professors and then to program assessment. We conclude with recommendations for implementing such a project in other academic settings. Elizabeth Thomas is Assistant Professor in the Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences at the University of Washington Bothell. She received her Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and teaches courses on inquiry in the social sciences, community psychology, and psychology and the arts. Her research examines sociocultural contexts for learning and development with a particular focus on the role of the arts and the potential of participatory action research strategies. Diane Gillespie is Professor and Associate Director of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences (IAS) at The University of Washington, Bothell, received her Ph.D. at the University of Nebraska—Lincoln in Cultural and Psychological Studies in Education. She teaches multicultural social science courses and qualitative research. Her recent publications explore the importance of narrative for reflective teaching and learning, learning in small groups, and the role of human rights in nonformal education.

基于可编程控制器程序的设计方法与研究

可编程控制器在工业生产自动化过程中，显示出极大的优越性，可编程控制器在其硬件的支持下，通过执行眨映控制要求的用户程序完成控制任务，大部分可编程控制器在控制过程的表达方式上，很少直接用指令表语言编制程序，而是先根据控制要求绘制出梯形图。再由梯形图写出对应的指令表程序，按程序规定顺序扫描达到控制要求，文章最后阐述了对控制程序的编制过程及描述控制任务中应注意的7个问题，并给出了控制电路及梯形图示例和程序的输入、检查、编辑的基本流程。
