Activities of the UETP EUROFORM in the Field of Continuing Education in Micro-electronics and the Structure of the Didactic Centre

EUROFORM is a sectorial UETP in micro-electronics approved by COMETT 2 for strands A, Ba, Ca and Cc. Twenty companies and 32 universities and research centres from five countries ( France, Germany, Italy, Spain and, since 1992, Ireland) are members of EUROFORM. The pilot project, strand Cc, called the European Didactic and Resource Centre involves four complementary actions: ( 1) a reflection centre, for seminars of specialists in charge of the study of the evolution of the specificity and of the definition of the educative programme, ( 2) a school for instructors and engineers who occasionally have to intervene in their companies, ( 3) an experimental centre where new trainings are elaborated and tested before being transferred to the Ca strand and ( 4) a resource centre in charge of the realization and publication of writing and video documents.     

Evaluating the potential effect of the increased importance of the impact component in the Research Excellence Framework of the UK

The UK's Research Excellence Framework (REF) is a system that is intended to evaluate the quality of the research produced by higher education institutes (HEIs) in the UK in three areas: quality of research outputs; impact of this research beyond academia; and research environment. For the next REF, the funding bodies have reviewed the importance of the three assessment elements and decided to increase the weight of ‘impact’ to 25% (from 20% in REF2014) and decrease the weight of ‘outputs’ to 60% (from 65% in REF2014). This article first examines the relevance of some factors for the quality of impact submissions in REF2014 and finds that larger submissions and institutes with higher external research income received better impact scores in the REF. The article then examines the units of assessment (UoAs) and HEIs that benefitted from the inclusion of the impact agenda as part of REF2014 by examining the distribution of the quality-related research (QR) funding in the 2017–2018 period and finds that the QR funding gap among different UoAs tends to decrease but the gap among HEIs in most of the UoAs increased. With the increased importance of the impact agenda as a criterion for funding bodies, it is expected that research income will be concentrated in fewer universities in the future, with the increased importance of non-academic impact. This article also discusses some of the gaming strategies and long-term investment priorities that HEIs may engage in based on the new submission rules of the next REF.     

Translation,the Product of the Manipulation of the Power of Domestic Values

Based on the theory of Lefevere,this essay takes《牛虻》(The Gadfly written by Ethael Lilian Voynich) translated by Li Liangmin(李俍民) in the 1950s as a case study,examining how the translation activity is influenced by the dominant cultural and political factors and other manipulating powers such as the editors and publishers;and how the target text(TT) interacts with the ideology of the social system,drawing the conclusion that translation is partly the product of the manipulation of the power of domestic value.

应用唯象模型结合原子核的电子散射实验结果，研究了轻偶偶核的电荷分布，给出了一个能很好地统一描述轻偶偶核的电荷分布的解析模型。该模型可以很好地给出原子核^4He，^12C，^16O，^24Mg，^28Si和^32S的电荷密度分布，电荷密度分布的均方根半径及电荷形状因子。     

Interactive effects of the probability of the cue and the probability of the outcome on the overestimation of null contingency

Overestimations of null contingencies between a cue, C, and an outcome, O, are widely reported effects that can arise for multiple reasons. For instance, a high probability of the cue, P(C), and a high probability of the outcome, P(O), are conditions that promote such overestimations. In two experiments, participants were asked to judge the contingency between a cue and an outcome. Both P(C) and P(O) were given extreme values (high and low) in a factorial design, while maintaining the contingency between the two events at zero. While we were able to observe main effects of the probability of each event, our experiments showed that the cue- and outcome-density biases interacted such that a high probability of the two stimuli enhanced the overestimation beyond the effects observed when only one of the two events was frequent. This evidence can be used to better understand certain societal issues, such as belief in pseudoscience, that can be the result of overestimations of null contingencies in high-P(C) or high-P(O) situations.

高校哲学社会科学学报名栏建设的路径探析

目前学报大多存在定位泛化的问题,栏目的设置互相雷同,或定位游移,朝秦暮楚,或者盲目进入不属于自己优势的领域。因此,必须从以下几方面加强学报栏目建设:(1)立足地域特色,依托学科优势,设置名牌栏目;(2)实行开放式办刊方针,增强栏目的影响力;(3)更新编辑观念,积极经营名栏目;(4)建立和完善各项制度,为名栏建设提供制度保障。     

Evaluating the Implementation of the No-Fee Teacher Education Policy

This study used questionnaires and telephone interviews to survey the views of 245 former Southwest University no-fee preservice students on the implementation of the no-fee teacher education policy. Analysis of their feedback on questions pertaining to the in-school, graduation, and employment stages of the program found that: (1) Motivation to apply for the no-fee teacher education program has a significant correlation to family economic status, place of residence, and income, which also impacts belief in teaching. (2) Differences in place of residence and region affect the identity of no-fee students. (3) The job satisfaction of no-fee graduates after job placement differs significantly depending on the educational level of the school where they work. (4) No-fee students have low expectations for the policy's implementation and a low recognition of their obligations under the program. In light of these findings, we make several recommendations: (1) Change the name and implementation strategy of the no-fee teacher education policy. (2) Make adjustments to the no-fee program admissions process. (3) Set up a mechanism for no-fee students to withdraw and be replaced. (4) Strengthen the vocational and ethical training of no-fee students, increasing their awareness of grass-roots service. (5) Raise teacher salaries and enhance their professional development.

Analysis of the supporting websites for the use of instructional games in K-12 settings

This paper identifies resources to be included in a website designed to facilitate the integration of instructional games in K-12 settings. Guidelines and supporting components are based on a survey of K-12 educators who are integrating games, an analysis of existing instructional game websites, and summaries of literature on the use of educational software in K-12 settings and teacher technology training. The results indicate that educators face three main challenges when integrating games, including: (1) curriculum integration, (2) technical and logistical requirements, and (3) teacher training. To overcome these challenges, K-12 educators should be provided with: (1) curriculum resources, (2) game technical information and support, and (3) communication tools. Websites designed to facilitate the use of instructional games should be designed with appropriate structures (ie, grid, web, hierarchy) to optimise organisation and simplicity. In addition, the websites should include teacher training that (1) apply a teacher training model, (2) address National Educational Technology Standards, (3) present contents in small doses, (4) make training and information as accessible as possible, and (5) model and mentor the use of instructional games.

章通过对我国四大国有商业银行与中小商业银行的比较分析，认为我国中小商业银行是我国国有商业银行的有益补充，是我国建设社会主义市场经济不可忽视的一股力量，但其生存与发展却面临着严峻的考验。为此，章在研究了其发展战略后提出：我国中小商业银行的发展战略为：经营方向本地化；经营业务特色化；经营手段现代化；经营人员专家化。
