山东省金融业与经济发展关系的实证研究

金融是现代经济的核心,是实体经济发展的重要支撑.山东省的金融业发展滞后于部分东南沿海地区,与山东省经济大省的地位极不匹配.运用VAR模型、脉冲响应函数及方差分解等方法,研究金融总量、金融效率与经济发展的关系,结果显示,山东省金融业的总体发展情况和金融效率与经济发展具有长期稳定的均衡关系,金融业总体发展情况对经济发展的贡献度在65％以上但是呈现下降趋势,金融效率对经济发展的贡献度在20％左右但逐步提高.     

Undergraduate Research and Service-Learning Programs in a Kinesiology Program at a Teaching University

High-impact practices foster student success, but faculty faced with heavy teaching loads and lack of resources and infrastructure are challenged to implement such practices. Kinesiology faculty at California State University, East Bay collaborated to implement two student programs: Kinesiology Research Group and Get Fit! Stay Fit! The Kinesiology Research Group, a faculty–student research group, and Get Fit! Stay Fit!, a service learning experience, partnered to consolidate human and structural resources. Student–faculty mentoring circles were used to support this innovative partnership. Here, we report student perceptions of the value of these programs to their academic and professional development.

Group Investigation in a College English Program at a Chinese University:A Case Study

This study investigated the application and the effect of Group Investigation(GI) in the College English Program in a Chinese University. A qualitative case study method was used to understand the GI system used by Chinese instructors as well as the achievements acquired and challenges met by the participants. Three instructors and fifteen second-year-undergraduates taking a course titled Sources of European Culture participated. Interviews, observations, and documents were used to collect the data. Data analysis showed Chinese instructors applied a GI technique similar to that discussed by Johnson and Johnson(1999); however, GI in the Chinese context demanded more effort from the teacher for designing tasks and provided help in modeling uses of English and in preparing visual, especially Power Point, presentations. Although participants used their mother tongue at some stages, their autonomy over English learning was activated, and horizons in the course content were broadened.

Planning and Implementing a Support Program for Students of Color

The Bridge Program is an innovative orientation program for new MSW students of color. The primary purpose of the program is to provide an early opportunity for new students to develop supportive and sustaining relationships with other minority students, faculty, and community practitioners. Providing social and informational support may help to mediate the impact of role, family, and job conflict mentioned by students as obstacles to completing their degree program. This paper describes a two year pilot of the Bridge Program goals, structure, and content, including formative assessment data. The paper concludes with a discussion of the lessons learned in creating the Bridge Program and suggestions for adapting the program model to other settings.

Program Review: The Experience of a Canadian University

For various reasons the practice of reviewing programs in universities is gaining increasing acceptance. After a three‐year period of discussion and planning, reviews of all academic and support units began at the University of Alberta in 1980. These reviews are organised by a four‐member President's Advisory Committee on Campus Reviews (PACCR). After the unit to be reviewed has prepared a self‐study report, discussions among PACCR, the President and the unit head lead to appointment of a Unit Review Committee (URC), usually of four members, which spends two to four days on campus. The URC report, the unit's self‐study report, and the unit's response are discussed by senior administrators and the Planning and Priorities Committee. Many changes have resulted from the reviews, including hiring of new staff members. Several important issues have been identified including how teaching loads should be assessed and how the special problems related to reviews of support units can be accommodated.

新思维,新课程——斯坦福大学通识教育改革

斯坦福大学分别在2012年和2013对通识教育进行改革,并于2013年秋季学期实行新的通识教育方案,包括思维与行为方法、有效思考、写作与语言等四类必修课.本研究对2011-2013年通识教育方案进行了分析和比较.研究发现,在改革的过程中,斯坦福大学始终秉持通识教育理念,不断深化对通识教育内涵的认识,基于不同的通识教育哲学观建构了个性化的课程体系.新的通识教育方案实现了从学科到能力的转变,注重培养学生的思维能力与有效表达能力.
