This paper reports the results of research into parental experiences of the Somerset (UK) “Time Together” home visiting intervention, with regards to its impact on the parent-child relationship. The research was carried out using an Attachment Theory lens in order to understand the qualitative experiences of seven parents of children in the early years who were identified as being socially isolated and/or having difficulties relating to their child. The key findings were that parents experienced a change within their notion of self, seeing their child as a separate self and seeing the world more through their child’s eyes. They experienced a wider range of play activities which brought about greater levels of attunement and enjoyment. The parent and home visitor relationship served to empower parents. A flow diagram was created to illustrate the processes of the research interactions and outcomes. This provides a model of how parents can be supported to experience greater enjoyment within their relationship with their child, and increase their level of social engagement.  相似文献

Despite mounting evidence on the importance of fathers in children’s development, evidence-based perinatal home visitation programs have largely overlooked fathers in the design and delivery of services. This paper describes the design, development, and pilot testing of the “Dads Matter” enhancement to standard home visiting services. Dads Matter is a manualized intervention package designed to fully incorporate fathers into perinatal home visiting services. Twenty-four families were enrolled in a pilot study to assess the feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary outcomes of the intervention. Using a quasi-experimental time-lagged design, 12 families received standard home visiting services and completed baseline and four-month post-tests. Home visitor staff were then trained and supervised to implement the Dads Matter enhancement in addition to standard services. Twelve additional families were then enrolled and completed baseline and four-month post-tests. Implementation data indicated that Dads Matter was implemented as planned. Cohen’s d scores on outcome measures indicate positive trends associated with Dads Matter in the quality of the mother-father relationship, perceived stress reported by both parents, fathers’ involvement with the child, maltreatment indicators, and fathers’ verbalizations toward the infant. Effect sizes generally ranged from moderate to large in magnitude and were larger than overall effect sizes of home visitation services alone reported in prior meta-analyses. Dads Matter appears to be a feasible, acceptable, and promising approach to improving fathers’ engagement in home visiting services and promoting family and child well-being.  相似文献

The purpose of this study is to bring forth preschool teachers' and parents' views on both established and future forms of cooperation between the preschool and home. The empirical sample is based on both individual and focus‐group interviews. Results show that cooperation mainly revolves around the individual child. The form of cooperation that is the least established among both preschool teachers and parents tends to be the parent council. It is concluded that it is important for preschool teachers to provide varied and rich forms of cooperation, as different forms of cooperation appeal to different parents. The present study explores a local initiative to develop parent support services through the school system. In focus are the discourse on home–school relations and parent support and the interplay between discourse and practical occurrences. Official documents, interviews and notes from municipal meetings and informal conversations were obtained from a local authority during 2009–2013. The results show that the education system is discursively positioned as an important player for the administration and organisation of parent support. All the same, opposing arguments are given precedence in decisions concerning what home–school relations should entail. The study explicates that parent support, when connected to compulsory education, is preferably conceptualised as part of and contingent on the forms and characteristics of home–school relations. Furthermore, it makes evident that the term school is recurrently used as a synonym of teachers. This has implications for both home–school relations and parent support.  相似文献

With the advances of electronic information technology and computer network, especially the embedded technology, smart home is no more just a vision but being practical. The interoperability of heterogeneous devices and flexibility of devices’ usage are two key problems that challenge the implementation of smart home. To deal with these two issues, this paper proposes an event-driven service oriented architecture using device profile for web services (DPWS). DPWS inherits the advantages of the traditional web services in achieving interoperability without dependence on platform, while improving service discovery and security as well as being optimized for deploying on resource constrained devices. By providing a visual interface for describing a service workflow (SW), the user can easily customize the actions of devices by services composition. Devices automatically cooperate without user’s intervention to complete required business logic. This is achieved by fully exploiting the eventing capabilities on DPWS enabled home devices. Finally, a home theater scenario is given to illustrate the event driven mechanism for the SW in the proposed smart home framework.  相似文献

对于go home这个短语构造,目前大部分英文词典和语法学家都将该短语中的go界定为不及物谓词,将home界定为副词,在短语构造中作附语,修饰谓词。这种解读有失偏颇,因为go与home之间不是修饰与被修饰的向心关系,而是补充说明的述谓关系或者说离心关系。深入研究谓词的分类、副词与名词的区别、补语宾语附语之间的区别等方面,再基于构造转换分析,可以推论go是一个不及物谓词,在短语构造中作谓语。home是一个带有隐性前置词to的名词,(to)home在短语构造中作谓语补语。通过检索CLOWN和CLOB两个英语语料库,发现go+N/NP这种构式存在不少案例,但总的来说N/NP的范围一般只局限在表示特定地理位置的名词短语上。此外还推测出go+N/NP的形成受到了语言简化、语法化、语言融合及语言使用的经济性原则等方面因素的影响。  相似文献
