改进教学方法 提高阅读能力

英语是当今世界最主要的交际语言之一。北京申奥成功和中国加入世界贸易组织后，中国与世界各国人民的交往将更加频繁，这就要求国民不得不普遍提高英语阅读能力与应用水平。而阅读能力是第一位的，一些先进的技术与经验，只有通过阅读才能理解，才能掌握。因此，提高学生的阅读能力是当前中学英语教学的当务之急。这几年高考英语试题中之所以加大阅读性试题的分值，就是要引导中学英语教学向这方面发展。     

重视培养学生英语阅读能力漫谈

怎样通过教师的教和导，在有限的时间内和有限的材料中去开发无限的功能，实现大纲所规定的阅读目标呢?这就涉及到阅读能力的培养。阅读能力包括理解能力和阅读速度。培养学生具备这些能力，笔者认为可以从以下几个方面入手：
