This study investigated the relative effectiveness of two methods of teaching an efficient questioning strategy to students with learning disabilities. The methods compared were (a) cognitive modeling alone in the use of constraint-seeking questions, and (b) cognitive modeling and verbalization in the use of constraint-seeking questions, involving explicit and consistent instruction and feedback. Sixty subjects with learning disabilities were assigned randomly to one of these two conditions (n = 30 in each group). A pretreatment and posttreatment design was employed, with the criterion variable being number of questions required to obtain the correct answers to two 20 questions games. Results indicated that both groups showed significant reductions from pretreatment to posttreatment in the number of questions required. The two methods of instruction did not differ significantly in effectiveness.  相似文献

After reviewing a brief general history of applied child development research, this paper suggests that in the future we should study questions that society needs to answer as well as questions that might contribute to theory, and that our research methods need to be adjusted to match these types of questions. Further, academics are urged to broaden their audience from a nearly exclusive focus on other academics to a focus on the three ps--practitioners, policymakers, and the public--and to recognize that scholarship is packaged differently for these audiences. Finally, it is suggested that applied child development research should market as well as sell, partner with nonacademic groups, disseminate results more vigorously, and focus efforts on local as well as national issues.  相似文献

Recent concern about lack of scientific rigor in educational research has led to a reexamination of educational research methods. Methodology requires particular attention when researchers study learning in complex learning environments such as classrooms or computer-driven environments that simulate complex processes. This article reaffirms the importance of experimental research for answering some research questions. It argues that nonexperimental methods, such as design experiments and methods applied to the study of large-scale educational programs, such as randomized field trials, are useful for answering other kinds of research questions about learning in complex settings. This article discusses the validity of evidence gathered using these nonexperimental methods. Finally, it suggests that the study of the dynamics of learning can help integrate data from experiments that reveal details about learning and data from nonexperimental research that reveal how learning occurs in complex settings.  相似文献

病毒广泛传播、硬盘上教学软件被使用者有意无意地破坏是高校公用机房单机管理中普遍存在的问题,教学实验常常因此受到严重干扰。本文对解决该问题的种种方法进行了分析,提出用硬盘逻辑分区写保护法解决这个问题,并给出软、硬两种实现办法。前者能在软驱正常使用的情况下防止用户从软盘启动机器突破硬盘“防线”,并成功地用于机房管理;后者允许从软盘启动,也能对特定分区进行写保护。  相似文献

The purpose of the investigation was to determine whether and how the quality of students’ explanations of chemical phenomena was affected by changing the method of giving the question and answer, respectively, between the spoken and written formats. It also focused on these effects for different questions and different students. Two experiments used the same population of first‐year university students who attempted the same set of questions, variously presented and answered in each of the four different ways of combining these two methods of questioning and answering. From the results, it was concluded that, for these students and questions, there was no observable difference between the performance of the students using any of these combinations of formats.
