2010年10月,洛杉矶著名脱口秀演员罗素·皮特斯（Russell Peters）,在他的新节目中,加入了这样一个桥段——说他在上海某商场买鞋子,因为柜台里找不出适合他脚的鞋子尺寸,于是提出这样一个问题：“怎么会,全世界的鞋子不都是你们中国制造的吗？”引得现场观众哄堂大笑。显然,他的这段调侃,恰好印证了中国商品在美国人心目中的形象。     

Facebook Friend Request: Applying the Theory of Reasoned Action to Student-Teacher Relationships on Facebook

The purpose of this study was to investigate factors that influence professors’ and students’ intentions to add each other as friends on Facebook. Participants were 160 professors and 249 students from different universities in the United States. Consistent with theory of reasoned action, intention was the strongest predictor of them adding each other as Facebook friends. However, among faculty members, a personal attitude was the most significant predictor of the intention to add students as friends. For students, subjective norm was the most significant predictor of the intention to friend professors.     

A multimodal critical discourse analysis of anti-vaccination information on Facebook

In light of recent outbreaks of measles and other vaccine-preventable diseases, childhood vaccination has been the subject of significant attention and controversy. Much information seeking and debates about vaccines take place on social media, yet the effects of information context-specific factors on parental information seeking and sharing and information source assessment remain unknown. Through the lenses of reductionist thinking and cognitive authority, this study employed a multimodal critical discourse analysis approach to analyze the textual and graphic information within a public anti-vaccine Facebook group. Findings show that parental information seeking and sharing worked to create an isolated, sentimentalized information context favoring immediacy and emotional impact over scientific research and statistical evidence. Because participants shared fundamental beliefs and goals around vaccines, group members held cognitive authority despite the lack of expertise or evidentiary support in their postings. This controversial information-based movement poses challenges and opportunities for library outreach and information provision.

The Influence of Computer-Mediated Communication Apprehension on Motives for Facebook Use

The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of computer-mediated communication apprehension on motives for using the interactive features on Facebook. An online survey was completed by 417 undergraduate students. Guided by uses and gratifications theory, communication apprehension in a computer-mediated context was found to be inversely related to interpersonal, self-expression, entertainment, and passing time motives for using Facebook. This study also investigated how Facebook motives predict the use of its interactive features. Interpersonal communication, self-expression, and entertainment motives all significantly predicted use of interactive features on Facebook.

选取5家已实施全馆外包的有一定代表性的公共图书馆,从所处区域经济发展情况、全馆外包实施过程、外包实施后的效果等方面进行全面比较分析,从政策法规、监督管理、各方诉求、参与主体以及运行效果等方面对公共图书馆实施全馆外包的现状与存在问题作了分析研究,聚焦全馆外包模式下政府职能部门如何更好履行管理职能,从合理确定外包范围、主动担当管理责任、科学界定管理重点等方面提出了意见与建议。

互联网公共图书馆——美国互联网公共图书馆项目评析

因特网公共图书馆（Internet Public Library,IPL）是第一个通过互联网为各类社区民众提供免费服务的公共图书馆。该数字图书馆提供在线咨询服务,同时供给互联网用户超过20000种书籍、期刊、报纸等数字化资源。读者可通过作者、标题和相关主题项对这些资源进行搜索。因特网公共图书馆的目标是“将最有效的图书馆员服务和管理工作在互联网上得以实现”。文章对该数字图书馆的建设、意义及现状进行了综合性述评,这其中包括项目概述、数字化收集、资源组织、界面设计、技术特点以及服务特征。文章最后给出了作者的意见和建议。     

Mirroring the Media: The Relationship Between Media Consumption,Media Internalization,and Profile Picture Characteristics on Facebook

Social cognitive theory suggests that stereotypes of attractiveness from mainstream media may function as models for online profile pictures. The present study explores the relationship between media consumption, internalization, and body-ism, clothing, and gaze through a content analysis of the Facebook profile pictures of 288 students, and a survey to assess their media consumption and internalization. The relationship between magazine exposure and pictures was mediated by internalization: magazine readers who internalized media ideals were more likely to select pictures showing their body in revealing clothing. Television viewing had a direct effect on picture selection, but was not mediated by internalization.

近60年来中国公共图书馆思想的历史特点与核心思想

公共图书馆思想具有普遍价值,公益、自由和平等是公共图书馆核心思想;近60年来我国公共图书馆思想发展具有从工具性转向普遍服务、从有偿服务转向公益服务、从封闭服务转向开放服务、从以书为本转向以人为本等历史特点,并且在2004年前后实现了公共图书馆思想的理性复归.

胡智锋(以下简称"胡"):今年是<现代传播>年度对话的第六个年头,2004年我跟刘春一起做的"会诊中国电视"算是一个开端,其间做的一系列年度对话在业界和学界都产生了比较广泛的影响.今年我们又把凤凰卫视执行台长刘春先生请回来,同时还邀请了中国传媒大学教授、博士生导师徐舫州先生.刘春先生身在一线,但对中国电视的发展有很深的理论性思考,徐舫州教授身为知名电视学者,但对中国电视的前沿实践保持着敏锐的观察和体悟.本次对话一方面要对2008年中国电视取得的成绩和存在的问题作一简要的描述,另一方面还要对中国电视2009年新的发展作出前瞻性的预测,期待我们的对话能够对业界和学界提供有价值的观点与素材.     

The Conglomeration of Public Radio: A Tale of Three Cities

A relatively unstudied development in the recent history of U.S. community and public radio is the emergence of metropolitan-based public radio networks. These are being constructed by buying out college and community facilities and frequencies by larger stations, resulting in student and community radio outlets being shifted to online streams and giving universities a one-time cash infusion, though this seems to vitiate the purpose of their educational licenses.     

《全元文》“张仲寿”条补遗

张仲寿是元代较为重要的一位书法家,《全元文》卷五五九"张仲寿"条下辑录了他的部分文章,但还有不少脱漏,传世《畴斋二谱》和《畴斋外录》中收录的许多文章即未引起编纂人员的注意.本文根据这两种文献以及《洛阳名碑集释》,辑录《全元文》所遗漏的篇章约十篇,以撰写时间先后为序(年代不明者列于最末),抄录于此,仅供参考.

The 2008 Presidential Campaign: Political Cynicism in the Age of Facebook,MySpace, and YouTube

Considerable research over the years has been devoted to ascertaining the impact of media use on political cynicism. The impact of the Internet has been difficult to assess because it is not a single monolithic medium. For example, the 2008 presidential campaign was the first presidential campaign in which popular social networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace, and YouTube were widely available to voters. Therefore, the campaign offered the first opportunity to explore the influence of these social media on political cynicism. In this study, we examined whether the use of such social media influenced political cynicism. We also considered the influence of user background characteristics (e.g., self-efficacy, locus of control, political orientation, demographics, and influence of family and friends), motives for using social media for political information, and users’ elaboration on political content. Several individual differences were stronger predictors of political cynicism than was social media use. In fact, social networking use was a negative predictor of political cynicism. Results supported uses and gratifications’ notions that the influence of social media on political cynicism is more attributable to user background and media-use differences than to sheer use of these popular sites.     

The Public and Bibliographic Instruction:

Since Bibliographic Instruction seems to be offered to many people using libraries, one could expect that a more knowledgeable public with a positive view of the information environment is being developed among its recipients. Who is the public for Bibliographic Instruction and what are they learning? Who is not being served and what are the implications of that failure? Can we define something called "Library Appreciation," and should it be taught to all clients before other library curricula?     

公共图书馆存在的理由:来自图书馆使命的注解

在世界范围内，几份重要的公共图书馆文献都将当代公共图书馆的使命界定为教育、信息服务、文化传播、促进社会和谐、培育信息素养、培养阅读兴趣、扫盲。文章首先考察了这些文献对公共图书馆使命的阐述，然后以经验研究（empmal research）发现为依据，考察了这些使命作为公共图书馆存在理由的有效性。研究发现，这些使命在当代政治和社会话语中经常出现，公众对它们也具有很高的需求，从这个意义上说，它们的确为公共图书馆的合理性提供着有效注解，但信息服务使命目前正受到互联网的挑战，扫盲及培养阅读兴趣的使命正在受到图书馆借阅量下滑趋势的挑战。
