中国著名风景区江西庐山,有一家十分独特的电影院。20多年来,这家电影院一直坚持不懈地放映着同一部电影,并为此而创造了电影史上一项吉尼斯世界纪录。这家电影院就是全国唯一一家以一部电影命名的电影院——庐山恋电影院。 20多年来,庐山恋电影院观众来了就放映《庐山恋》电影,最奇怪的是唯有放映《庐山恋》这部电影观众才能前呼后拥地入场观看,若放映其他片子,便一下子失去了吸引力。由于《庐山恋》循环往复地、日复一日地放映着,这家电影院终于在平凡中创造了奇迹,为中国电影放映业在世界上争得了一份殊荣:1997年8月取得上海大世界吉尼斯纪录;2002年12月,有关部门在北京人民大会堂隆重举行仪式,再次表彰《庐山恋》荣载吉尼斯世界纪录。如今,凡路过庐山恋电影院门前的旅游团队或零散的游人,每当谈及此事,无不称奇。 相似文献

This paper draws upon the history of the funeral market over two centuries to examine three major devices which have played a central role in the funeral economy, both in terms of defining the nature of the ‘goods’ and their attendant value but also in regulating the relations between the Pompes Funèbres and the other institutional actors involved. It highlights the ways in which these devices provide a ‘politics of value’ performing the articulation between the formatting of economic value and the pursuit of political concerns. First, observing the constitutional phase of the private industry, it examines the ‘system of the classes’ as a central device of managing dissonance between conflicting interests. Then, a historical jump leads us to half way through the twentieth century to the market infrastructure formed by the management of ‘care for the deceased’. As a third point, the exponential development of death insurance in recent years appears as an expression of rationalization of funeral arrangement. The analysis of the market devices will highlight an essential property, that is, the incorporation of a ‘calculation formula’ which set up both the profit sharing and the handling of moral and political issues. 相似文献

Public values failure occurs when the market and the public sector fail to provide goods and services required to achieve
the core values of society such as equity (Bozeman 2007). That public policy for emerging health technologies should address intrinsic societal values such as equity is not a novel
concept. However, the ways that the public values discourse of stakeholders is structured is less clear and rarely studied
through the lens of public interests. This is especially true in the health sciences discourse. Using the public value mapping
(PVM) model I present a case study of the intrinsic value of equity in nanomedicine for cancer and the imperatives for translational
research, an instrumental value to achieve equity. After reviewing and coding nearly 700 value statements from several hundred
public documents, I find that that the discourse on values varies between documents that address basic research and documents
that address the application of the knowledge produced in basic research, with some especially notable disconnections. This
paper demonstrates the importance of further refinement of methods for testing the PVM framework if the societal goal is to
improve consistency of the public value discussion by those involved in developing and applying new technologies. The paper
also demonstrates the value of a PVM approach for complex science policy analysis, especially for emerging technologies like

Here we present the framework of a new approach to assessing the capacity of research programs to achieve social goals. Research
evaluation has made great strides in addressing questions of scientific and economic impacts. It has largely avoided, however,
a more important challenge: assessing (prospectively or retrospectively) the impacts of a given research endeavor on the non-scientific,
non-economic goals—what we here term “public values”—that often are the core public rationale for the endeavor. Research programs
are typically justified in terms of their capacity to achieve public values, and that articulation of public values is pervasive
in science policy-making. We outline the elements of a case-based approach to “public value mapping” of science policy, with
a particular focus on developing useful criteria and methods for assessing “public value failure,” with an intent to provide
an alternative to “market failure” thinking that has been so powerful in science policy-making. So long as research evaluation
avoids the problem of public values, science policy decision makers will have little help from social science in making choices
among competing paths to desired social outcomes. 相似文献
