Can I Tell You My Story? How Storytelling Contributes to Pupils’ Achievements in Other Aspects of Speaking and Listening and to their Understanding of how Language Works

Storytelling is a feature of the language curriculum which often receives positive recommendation but yet which is still perceived as marginal to the more serious business of teaching children to read and write. Di Rooks here challenges this marginalisation and her work suggests a more fundamental place for storytelling.
