A Specification—Based Case Study from Test Class Framework

Testing is a standard method for verification of software performance.Producing efficinet and appropriate test case is an important aspect in testing.Specification-based testing presents a method to derive test data from software specification.Because of the precision and concision of specification.the test data derived from specification can test the software efficiently and entirely.This paper demonstrates a test class framework(TCF) on a file reading case study,specifiec using Z notation,This class framework defines test case sets,providing structure to the testing process.Flexbility is preserved so that many testing strategies can be used.

对软件测试建立动态运行模型,提出基于逻辑统计特征描述的软件测试方法。通过软件运行的统计特征对软件运行状态在可行域中的风险进行评估,从而得到软件测试的一个量化安全指标。最后从工程角度提出了有现实意义的软件测试框架,并从数学上证明了该框架的有效性。有一个隐含前提,就是程序应该是实际系统的拟合,程序功能模块的划分对实际系统所具有的逻辑约束与自身稳定性不构成破坏。     

Deconstructing test anxiety

Recent changes to educational policy which have focused attention on the use of high stakes testing as performance and accountability measures have renewed interest in test anxiety both in the UK and the USA. The aim of this paper is to provide a critical examination of the test anxiety construct, and explore the ways in which test anxiety is written about and conceptualised in the existing literature. It is intended that this paper would provide a companion to the comprehensive reviews that already exist, to provoke scholarly thought and debate around the existing literature, than to provide an additional review. Discussion is based around five themes: (1) how test anxiety is differentiated from the anxiety construct in general; (2) the differing conceptions of test anxiety in the literature; (3) the relationship between test anxiety and other, related constructs; (4) how measurement concerns have driven development of the test anxiety construct; and (5) the focus on worry and performance deficits leading to definitional problems. Two directions for future work are highlighted: first, to continue the exploration of test anxiety with other related constructs; and second, to develop qualitative approaches to the study of test anxiety.     

Support for development and test of web application: A tree-oriented model

Building an abstract model of the web application is the chief task of software test based on model, which is an efficient way for testing the web application. One problem with current web application test technologies is the lack of tools for modeling the whole web software, especially the lack of support for describing web application from the view of action and function. This paper is concerned with providing the support for development and test of the web application. The presented novel model, named component-based and tree-oriented web application development model (CBTOWADM), abstracts the web application as a tree based on its system function and business process. CBTOWADM not only simplifies the design and development of the web application, but also acts as the model middleware for software test. The basic model definition, the system framework and the application in software test of CBTOWADM is described.

Area-time associated test cost model for SoC and lower bound of test time

A novel test access mechanism (TAM) architecture with multi test-channel (TC) based on IEEE Standard 1500 is proposed instead of the traditional sub-TAM structure. The cost model of an area-time associated test and the corresponding lower bound of system-on-chip (SoC) test time are established based on this TAM architecture. The model provides a more reliable method to control the SoC scheduling and reduces the complexity in related algorithm research. The result based on the area time associated test cost model has been validated using the ITC’02 test benchmark.

Are separate room test accommodations effective for college students with disabilities?

Abstract

College students with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and/or learning disabilities are frequently allowed to complete examinations in a separate, distraction-reduced setting. Although separate room test accommodations are believed to provide students with equal access to testing and thereby improve performance, little experimental research has examined their effects on actual test scores. We randomly assigned college students to complete a high-stakes Spanish language placement examination in either a group or separate room setting. Then, we categorized students based on their (1) disability status, (2) history of test accommodations, and (3) self-reported history of test anxiety. Results showed a significant setting x disability status interaction. Contrary to expectations, all students performed equally well in the group setting, but students with disabilities earned significantly lower scores than their classmates without disabilities when tested in a separate room. Similar results were found when we restricted our analyses to students with a history of test accommodations. Separate room testing had no effect on the scores of students with test anxiety. Altogether, our findings suggest that separate room testing does not mitigate the effects of ADHD, learning disabilities, and/or test anxiety on performance and, in some cases, may actually lower test scores.

Assessing statistical aspects of test fairness with structural equation modelling

Test fairness and test bias are not synonymous concepts. Test bias refers to statistical evidence that the psychometrics or interpretation of test scores depend on group membership, such as gender or race, when such differences are not expected. A test that is grossly biased may be judged to be unfair, but test fairness concerns the broader, more subjective evaluation of assessment outcomes from perspectives of social justice. Thus, the determination of test fairness is not solely a matter of statistics, but statistical evidence is important when evaluating test fairness. This work introduces the use of the structural equation modelling technique of multiple-group confirmatory factor analysis (MGCFA) to evaluate hypotheses of measurement invariance, or whether a set of observed variables measures the same factors with the same precision over different populations. An example of testing for measurement invariance with MGCFA in an actual, downloadable data set is also demonstrated.

Loading-unloading test analysis of anisotropic columnar jointed basalts

To evaluate the columnar jointed basalts in the dam site of Baihetan hydropower station in southwest China, we developed a basic conceptual model of single jointed rock mass. Considering that the rock mass deformation consists of rock block deformation and joints deformation, the linear mechanical characteristics of the cell （including the elastic joints and the nonlinear mechanical behaviors of the cell） with a combined frictional-elastic interface were analyzed. We developed formulas to calculate the rock block deformation, which can be adapted for multiple jointed rock mass and columnar jointed basalts. The formulas are effective in calculating the equivalent modulus of multiple jointed rock mass, and precisely reveal the anisotropic properties of columnar jointed basalts. Furthermore, the in situ rigid bearing plate tests were analyzed and calculated, and the types of loading-unloading curves and the equivalent modulus along different directions of columnar jointed basalts were obtained. The analytical results are in close compliance with the test results.     

Power test method for LED backlight LCD TVs and software development

As the appearance of local dimming technique, the current existing test methods are not suitable for testing the power consumption of the LCD TVs using the local dimming technique any longer. A test method appropriate to LED backlight LCD TVs using the local dimming technique is proposed in this paper, and then the test software is developed. The results demonstrate that the test software developed can show the real average power consumption of the LCD using local dimming technique, and by normalization the power consumption become comparable for not only local dimming LCD TVs but global dimming LCD TVs. Using the software developed in this paper, the ratio of power saving is clear when an LCD TV using the local dimming technique compared with one without local dimming technique.
