A Pilgrimage to Famen Temple

Qujiang International Shadow Art Festival 2010 attracted numerous photoqraphers from around the world. Participant photographers were offered various photo tours through which they were greatly inspired by gorgeous sceneries and historical sites of Xi＇an. Following the tour around Qujiang Site Park, my fellow photographers and I embarked on a pilgrimage to Famen Temple, a Buddhist temple that dates back more than 1000 years.     

Xi＇an Hosts Folk Video Festival

From October 28 to November 1, the 4th China Xi＇an International Folkvideo Festival was held in Xi＇an.This event is co-hosted by the Center of International CulturalExchange and China DV Commission and organized by Shaanxi Cultural Industry Investment Holdings Group （SCG）. With attentive review and discussion by the 11 jury members, the twelve awards were granted to a number of video and animation works, among which ＂Return Home Gloriously＂, ＂Bass＇s Grasslands＂ and ＂Watcher＂ won the Best Feature, the Best Micro~lm and the Best Animation.

Xi＇an is a historic city with timehonored culture and traditions. Qujiang, an ancient royal lake garden site which is now turned into a theme park, has witnessed the prosperous civilization of the Tang Empire-its exquisite tri-colored glazed pottery, accompfishments in poetry and magnificent architectural landmarks such as the Big Goose Pagoda.Today, Qujiang Theme Park is celebrated as a Mecca for music lovers, fascinating visitors with both well-preserved music traditions and diverse modern music creations.

＂Presences China＂ ： Foreign Musicians to Compose Chinese Music

Eight French composers were invited to a competition called ＂Presences China＂ to compose distinctive Chinese music during Shanghai Music Festival taking place in May 2006. They were requested to use Chinese instruments and familiar Chinese melodies, which was hailed as a creative endeavor in the history of music.

Evaluation and Research： Habitat Setting of Qujiang New Area New Release of View Point Series of Qujiang Cultural Tourism

On June 6, Xi＇an Qujiang Cultural Tourism Co., Ltd. held a ceremony to release its new book “Evaluation and Research： Habitat Setting of Qujiang New Area” at Overseas Chinese Art Gallery in Xi＇an. This book is the second collection of View Point Series of Qujiang Cultural Tourism planned and compiled by Qujiang Institute of Cultural Tourism （QICT）, following its first collection “Cultural and Historic Theme Attractions in China： Case Study and Analysis of Tourist Behaviors”.

The book is the brain child of Xi＇an Qujiang Cultural Tourism Institute as it summarizes the operating and managerial expertise gained from its ten years of experiences and compiled the information based on in-depth researches into representative tourist attractions themed on history and culture all across the country.

On August 12, “Seeking the Root： Chinese Culture Journey”, an international summer camp for young overseas Chinese, opened in the Tang Paradise in Qujiang New Area, Xi＇an City. Dr. Hu Chunyi, Chairman of Malaysia NV Foundation, Ms. Li Peishan, representative for China-Malaysia Friendship and Culture Promotion, Ms. Wang Jing, representative from Qujiang Culture ＆Tourism Co., Ltd., Ms. Xu Chun from Chinese International Ceremonial Group, and Mr. Li Weimin and Mr. Yao Kaiwen who were responsible for the event＇s organization, attended the opening ceremony.     

Qujiang Cultural Tourism Group Honored as ＂Listed Company of Best Business Model＂

Result for China＇s Listed Company Reputation List 2013 was released on November 29, 2013. The contest was hosted by National Business Daily in partnership with many media outlets as well as more than I00 institutional judges. Xi＇an Qujiang Cultural Tourism Group took the laurel as the ＂listed company of the best business model＂, thanks to its integrated business mode focusing on developing the double industrial chains of culture and tourism. It is the only northwest China-based tourism enterprise claiming the award.     

Tang Paradise Celebrates Ninth Anniversary

Shangyi Festival, also known as the Double Third Festival, is an ancient Chinese festival celebrated on the third day of the third lunar month. On this day, people would go for an outing by the water, picnic and pluck orchids. The festival this year coincides with the 9th anniversary of the Tang Paradise, a site park in the southern suburb of Xi＇an, a historic city of northwest Shaanxi province. The spring outing event entitled ＂En- voy of Spring＂ and the poetry recital for women were launched in the park to celebrate this traditional festival.     

Cultural Diversity Manifested in Coins and Stamps--2009 Asia-Europe Philatelic and Numismatic Exhibition Displayed in Beijing

“Colorful Diversity： the 2009 Asia-Europe Philatelic and Numismatic Exhibition” was recently held in the Capital Library in Beijing, as an important event of the 1st ASEMCulture and Arts Festival. This exhibition displayed some 400 pieces or sets of coins and stamps and 50 sets of postcards of musical themes from 43 participant states of the 7th AsiaEurope Meeting [ASEM], providing an excellent opportunity for Chinese viewers to appreciate diversified cultures of Asia and Europe. Officials from Chinese Cultural Ministryand ambassadors and cultural attaches from 30 embassies in Beijing attended the opening ceremony.

Shi Yue： Dedicated to Chinese Traditional Music

＂In the early springime, burgeoning flowers look more beautiful in the caress of gentle breeze and against brightness of the pure moon. Ancient beauties, either slim or plump, look gloomier under shining stars... ＂ That is a line from the poem Shi Yue has written. She set the poem to music and named the composition ＂Charm of Strings＂. Shi Yue learned music composition as an optional course for one year when she studied in Central Conservatory of Music and got best performance in composition analysis and harmony. ＂I had highest examination scores in my class. They are quite helpful to my music creation later,＂ Shi said.     

A Decade＇s Journey of the Animation Industry China （Changzhou）International Animation Festival

CHINA ARTS FESTIVAL TO BE OPENED

China Arts Festival, whose title was initiated by late Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping, is the country＇s top-rank, largest-scale and most world famous arts festival. Since its inception in1987, this national-level arts event has been successfully run seven editions in Beijing, Yunnan, Gansu, Sichuan, Jiangsu and Zhejiang respectively. The 8th China Arts Festival will be held in the central province of Hubei from November 5 to 20.[第一段]     

Li Xiaojie：A Popular Flute Performer in the Army

Li Xiaojie is a young Chinese flute performer and now serves as the Chinese flute solo performer in the Song and Dance ! Ensemble of the General Political Department of People＇s Liberation Army. She was born in Inner Mongolia and had followed her father Li Zhen, a famous Chinese flute performer to learn flute performance since her childhood. In 1983, she was admitted to the middle school affiliated to China Conservatory of Music and received an all-round training of sldlls and styles of northern schools of Chinese flute from Prof. Ma Baoshan. In 1986. Li and her schoolmate Zeng Zhaobin performed a flute duet at the Fourth North China Music Festival, which was known as the first ever bamboo flute performance by female performers in China and widely recognized by the professional circle.     

Peking Opera Festival Held to Boost Public Interest

Co-organized by Chinese Cultural Ministry and the People＇s Government of Shandong Province, the 5th China Peking Opera Festival was held in Jinan, capital city of the eastern province of Shandong from October 20 to November 7.     

Celebrating Chinese New Year in the Tang Paradise

From January 23 to March 2, the Tang Paradise, a large historic theme park in the New Area of A Qujiang in Xi＇an, hosted a grand lan- tern fair to celebrate the Chinese lu- nar year of the horse, attracting tens of thousands of visitors. This 39-day- long lantern fair features the ele- ments of the Tang Dynasty which set the capital in Xi＇an, appealing visitors with exotic gourmet, folk tradition showcases, gala shows and dazzling displays of Chinese palace lanterns.

On September 28, 2012, "Chang’an Information" (stock code: 600706) in the Shanghai Stock Exchange market was renamed "Qujiang Cultural Tourism". This means Xi’an Qujiang Cultural Tourism Corporation limited has become the first cultural company in the west region to be listed on the A share market. It is also a listed company covering the whole industrial chain of the cultural sector.
