中国:数字图书馆走了有多远?

描述了我国数字图书馆的发展情况，探讨了数字图书馆的实现及其与传统图书馆的关系，指出了数字化进程中应注意的问题。     

真人图书馆,还能走多远

作为一种新的阅读方式与阅读载体,真人图书与图书馆的其他信息源相比,有着无法修复的先天性缺陷———客观性与可信度的无法验证。笔者认为,对真人图书馆的正确定位应该是：作为一种丰富目前图书馆服务与传统馆藏资源的有效补充而存在。图书馆作为人类传承人类共同精神遗产的集结地,它所储存的文献所具有的诸多特征,是包括真人图书在内的任何其它文献所无法替代的。参考文献7。

In fall 2016, the Columbia-Cornell collaboration in the area of Slavic & East European resource coordination and sharing celebrated its sixth year. The author reviews particulars of the development, implementation, and function of this program as well as some of the challenges that face such cross-institutional efforts.     

The China Medical Board and medical libraries in the Far East

The China Medical Board was created in 1914 to support the development of a medical college in Peking, China. However, its activity had to be discontinued due to the political change in China in late 1950, and the Board's new plans expanded into the whole area of the Far East in 1951. The primary program is to assist financially in the development of medical and nursing education and research; the library is one of the major concerns of the program. The assistance to libraries is categorized as follows: construction and equipment, books and journals, fellowships, and other items. An attempt is made to describe the actual status of medical libraries in the area since World War II from the point of view of the program of the Board.

Going Too Far: Language Limitations of Sports Talk Radio

Only one sports-talk radio station has ever been subject to an indecency enforcement action, WGR in Buffalo, NY. However, the Federal Communications Commission did not impose disciplinary penalties. This article compares that incident with the termination of Don Imus from WFAN in New York City following racially motivated comments that could not have been considered indecent. Both of these incidents occurred when “guy talk” became offensive to the larger public. While indecency regulations have helped to place some general limits on the sports-talk format, this article argues that economic and normative pressures constrain the content more than legal sanctions.     

要"以人为本"须先开展读者研究

分析了图书馆“目中无人”的倾向，指出，图书馆的工作实践和理论研究应当坚持科学精神与人文精神相统一、知识管理与读者服务相统一、“对读者的研究”与“为读者的研究”相统一，促进信息功能与教育功能全面平衡发展。     

关于"近期未来"图书馆期刊工作研究问题

这是一篇演讲稿,仅就“近期未来（3～5年）”图书馆期刊工作研究谈了两个问题：一是当前图书馆期刊工作我们应研究什么？列举了期刊资源建设、期刊资源共享、确立权利意识、重视服务效益、期刊评价问题等五个研究观点;二是今后图书馆期刊工作我们应怎样进行研究？从开拓视野与“守护家园”、创新和恪守规范、“穷源推本”和“精打细算”、要关注高职高专院校图书馆期刊工作研究、要加强研究队伍建设等五个方面谈了看法.认为,凡是和图书馆期刊管理服务有关的问题,都可以纳入我们的研究范围;指出,我们的研究主要在于当前应该解决、通过努力也可以解决的问题.

自2005年以来,"数字出版时代已经到来"、"传统出版即将被数字出版所取代"、"国外STM出版商已经转化为科学内容的提供商"等这些出版界热点话题不断.     

The Information Infrastructure for Collective Scientific Work in the Far East of Russia

The results of the work conducted by the institutes of the Far East Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (FEB RAS) to develop the IT infrastructure for solving general and specialized tasks for the benefit of scientists in the Far East of Russia are described. Approaches to resource management and regulations for their funding in the current legal functioning model of scientific organizations are presented.

近百年来中国方志和方志学研究

近百年来，尤其是中华人民共和国成立以后，在充分吸收前人研究成果的基础上，方志研究出现了前所未有的繁荣，著述如林，人才辈出，硕果累累。本文对辛亥革命以来方志和方志学研究的发展历程、主要学术成就和今后的研究方向做了评述。

本文以时尚为主要研究视角探索鲍德里亚的思想。作者发现在其总体思想经历从现代到后现代的转向的同时,他对时尚功能的看法也发生了从指意到自指的转变。在具体分析了鲍德里亚时尚是仿真仙境的观点之后,文章认为这一观念对现实批判具有启发性意义。同时,作者对其真实和意义终结的断言提出质疑和批判。
