A Brief Study of Hu Gengshen's Eco-Translatology: with the Comparison of Translation Ecology

Eco-translatology and Translation Ecology are two new aspects of translation study.They arise from the development of Ecology and the interdisciplinary tendency of translation studies.The present paper intends to make a clear introduction of the two branches of translation study and make a comparison based on the introductions in order to provide insights into these new perspectives to translation studies.The paper points out that they are different in terms of developing routes,naming principles,terminology,methodology,research pivot,etc.A conclusion is drawn that clarification of their relationship will provide insights into the two branches of translation study and Hu Gengshen’s approach to translation as adaptation and selection adds a new dimension to translation study as an academic discipline.

At the same time, teachers are paying more attention to the blog, and it will gradually become a new English teaching method. For its own bright characteristics, blog plays a specific role in the teaching, and remedies some defects in traditional teaching. Mobility and equilibrium stability analysis of pin-jointed mechanisms with equilibrium matrix SVD

Under certain load pattern, the geometrically indeterminate pin-jointed mechanisms will present certain shapes to keep static equalization. This paper proposes a matrix-based method to determine the mobility and equilibrium stability of mechanisms according to the effects of the external loads. The first and second variations of the potential energy function of mechanisms under conservative force field are analyzed. Based on the singular value decomposition (SVD) method, a new crite- rion for the mobility and equilibrium stability of mechanisms can be concluded by analyzing the equilibrium matrix. The mobility and stability of mechanisms can be classified by unified matrix formulae. A number of examples are given to demonstrate the proposed criterion. In the end, criteria are summarized in a table.

A Possible Approach to Introduce Word Memorizing Methods into College English Teaching

Words acquisition should be the most decisive and basic part, though modern English education does not take enough attention, especially in college English teaching. A recent survey on the Internet reveals that college students are worrying about their words power very much, eager to find an efficient and effective way. Hence, various modes of word memorizing methods are collected and a brief classification and remark are available. By an overall analysis of those methods, a new approach compromised by different kinds of methods turns out. This new approach completely abides by the philosophy of pragmatism, and every idea with practical use will be introduced to it, e.g. psychology of language and so on.     

A new algorithm for computing the convex hull of a planar point set

When the edges of a convex polygon are traversed along one direction,the interior of the convex polygon is always on the same side of the edges. Based on this characteristic of convex polygons,a new algorithm for computing the convex hull of a simple polygon is proposed in this paper,which is then extended to a new algorithm for computing the convex hull of a planar point set. First,the extreme points of the planar point set are found,and the subsets of point candidate for vertex of the convex hull between extreme points are obtained. Then,the ordered convex hull point sequences between extreme points are constructed separately and concatenated by removing redundant extreme points to get the convex hull. The time complexity of the new planar convex hull algorithm is O(nlogh) ,which is equal to the time complexity of the best output-sensitive planar convex hull algorithms. Compared with the algorithm having the same complexity,the new algorithm is much faster.

The Application of TBL Using Role Play to Introduce Vocabulary in China’s Private Language School

A specific application of task-based learning in teaching vocabulary to young learners and a complete task cycle using role play to present vocabulary in China’s private language school would be described in the study. The participants aged between 7 and 9 are thought to be starters according to their language competence in Common European Framework of Reference for language. The rationale for stages in the task cycle will be fully explored with reference to Piaget and Vygotsky’s theory in teaching young learners. The advantages of the adoption of TBL with young learners will be illustrated and some possible problems in implementing TBL in China, a representative country of Confucian-heritage culture would also be discussed in the paper. The study indicates that young learners in China are quite welcome this new approach in their English classes, but the targeted learners’ age and background information need to be taken into consideration when actually implement this approach.     

The Integration of Interior Architecture Education With Digital Design Approaches

It is inevitable that as a result of progress in technology and the changes in the ways with which design is conceived, interior architecture schools should be updated according to these requirements and that new educational processes should be tried out. It is for this reason that the scope and aim of this study have been determined as being the formulation of a hybrid educational model for the integration of digital approaches to design within the interior architecture education system. Within the chosen scope and aim of this study, and as a methodology, various algorithmic and parametric approaches have been applied in various practical applications as digital design instruments, and conclusions have been reached concerning the advantages they offer within the design process. The advantages and disadvantages, concerning interior architecture education, of digital approaches to design over the traditional design method, have been presented on the basis of results found during practical applications of digital design, the information found in publications about this subject. A hybrid educational model for the restructuring with digital design instruments of interior architecture education and design studios as experimental areas has been presented. Thanks to this proposed model, the establishment of a computer formatted analytic design system in the guise of dynamic systems will get easier and, the opportunity of restructuring the process and conception of design will also present itself. As the effects of this method are reflected on the products, new geometric approaches and typologies will appear, with the result that designs and digital instruments will constantly be developed and will evolve. In conclusion, educating the designers of the future according to the essence of these approaches will make it possible to train professionals who correctly use and understand the technologies being developed, who have a critical stance, and who can produce renewable designs.

An algorithm for 3D shape matching using spherical sectioning

3D shape searching is a problem of current interest in several different fields. Most techniques are developed for a particular domain and used to reduce a shape into a simpler shape representation. The techniques developed for a particular domain will also find application in other domains. We propose a new shape matching method. The SSRD （spherical sectioning railroad diagram） algorithm has the general shape distribution＇s properties and overall features of the original model. The SSRD＇s useful properties are discussed. We show the experimental results for the validity of our method.
