不要忽视细微差别

英语中有些看似相同或相近的词语,含义和用法却不尽相同,有些还大相径庭,一知半解或粗枝大叶者往往会犯下可笑的错误。下面举一些常用的词语加以区别,供同学们学习参考。1.far away和faraway前者是词组,意为“遥远”,作状语、表语或后置定语。如:He lives far away./The moon is far away from the earth./They arenow in town far away.后者是形容词,主要用作定语。如:His home is at a faraway village.2.every day和everyday前者是副词词组,表示“每天”;后者是形容词,表示“日常的、普通的”,一般作定语。例如:He pays visits to me e…

高考中常常碰到考查英语形容词(副词)比较级的修饰语。如91年有一道高考题: —How did you find your visit to the museum? —I thoroughly enjoyed it,It was___than I expected.
