SUMMARY OF PROCEEDINGS OF THE 37th ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF THE NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR JEWISH EDUCATION

Although paired study (hevruta) has been a part of Jewish learning and an essential aspect of rabbinic education for centuries, over the past decade it has become an increasingly formalized vehicle in the training of rabbis in non-Orthodox seminaries. Little research has focused on its organization and process and what role it plays within the context of rabbinic education. This study seeks to investigate the practice of hevruta as it has developed in the Rabbinical School of the Jewish Theological Seminary. Methodologically, the study makes use primarily of standardized long interviews. The results of this study indicate that while hevruta shares many characteristics of cooperative learning in higher education, it remains a distinct Jewish learning strategy.     

INTRODUCTION TO THE CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS ISSUE

Abstract

On January 8, 2002, President G.W. Bush signed into law the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLBA) of 2001. The article which follows examines this legislation, data upon which it is based, and likely outcomes. Moreover, this discussion challenges early childhood teacher educators to work together more closely and more actively with a broad base of concerned professionals to make changes in this short‐sighted legal obstacle to research‐based, professionally‐defined, high quality, early childhood education.     

汉语语序研究方法小结

汉语语序研究方法归纳为六种:尝试通过词的分类阐释语序,将句子中成分的同现关系与配位方式结合起来研究,重视各种语义角色在句子中的配位方式,利用转换生成理论研究句子的变换,利用认知理论研究语序,综合运用多种理论方法研究汉语语序。运用这些方法解决了很多问题,但也存在一些不足。     

“官二代”现象研究综述

官二代事件频繁的跳入大众的视野,挑战着大众敏感而脆弱的神经,已成为当下网络上的热门词语和媒体关注的焦点。本文总结了近几年来对官二代现象研究的现状,探讨了官二代现象研究的主要方面,提出了在今后的研究中需值得注意的若干问题。     

ALL‐EUROPEAN CONFERENCE FOR DIRECTORS OF EDUCATIONAL RESEARCH INSTITUTIONS

The UNESCO Institute for Education in Hamburg, with the assistance of the Council of Europe and the Volkswagen Foundation, organized an All‐European Conference for Directors of Educational Research Institutions from 26 to 29 April 1976. The work of the Conference concentrated on the theme “The Impact of Educational Research on School Education”.     

GDR: CONFERENCE ON DEVELOPMENT OF FUNDAMENTAL AND APPLIED RESEARCH

The following article presents the main issues concerning the development of fundamental and applied research in the German Democratic Republic, as discussed during a joint conference of the GDR's Ministry, of Higher and Specialized Education and the GDR's Academy of Science, which was held on 1 and 2 June, 1978 in Berlin.

SITUATION OF TEACHING AND RESEARCH PERSONNEL IN THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF GERMANY ‐ REPORT PRESENTED AT THE CRE CONFERENCE

The information presented below is based on a report entitled “Maintaining the Vitality of the University in Matters concerning the Teaching and Research Personnel” written by Professor Rudolf Wildenmann, Rector of the University of Mannheim. This report was presented during the 16th Semestrial Conference of the Standing Conference of Rectors and Vice‐Chancellors of the European Universities (CRE), held from 27 to 28 April 1978 in Salamanca, Spain.

The Conference concentrated on “The Prospects for the Universities after a Period of Expansion”. Besides Professor Wildenmann's report, two other basic reports were presented. They dealt with the following issues:

• "Maintaining the Vitality of the University in the Field of Finance” by Professor Jean Touscoz, Rector of the University of Nice,

• "Maintaining the Vitality of the University in Student Matters” by Mr. James Drever, Principal of the University of Dundee.

对近期国内外有关振动时效的文献和国内的研究工作综合成残余应力简介、时效方法、振动时效概述三个部分，使读者对振动在工程上的重要应用有一个全面的认识和了解。     

苏轼、苏辙和"苏门四学士"辞赋研究综述

北宋是辞赋发展的重要阶段,而苏轼、苏辙和“苏门四学士“的辞赋创作又是北宋中后期辞赋创作的重要组成部分。但由于种种原因,历代对苏轼、苏辙和“四学士“的研究多集中于他们的诗、文、词、文艺理论乃至书画等方面,对他们辞赋创作的基本情况和取得的成就则缺乏系统的梳理和恰当的评价。本文拟就苏轼、苏辙和“四学士“辞赋数量的统计、作品的研究、成就的评定等几个方面对历来的研究状况略作回顾。以推进此六人辞赋研究向深度和广度发展。这对全面评价此六人的文学成就,探讨苏门的创作特征,更加深入地研究辞赋这一特殊文体,都应是不无裨益的。     

CONFERENCE OF THE ASSOCIATION OF COMMONWEALTH UNIVERSITIES

The executive heads of 116 member universities ofthe Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) met in Wellington, New Zealand, from 7 to 14 February 1976. The ACU is the oldest international inter‐university association in the world. It has 204 member universities in 26 Commonwealth countries. We give below information on this Conference and on a paper prepared by the ACU Secretariat “Trade Routes and Common Ground”.
