师范性、学术性辨析

本文就师范性与学术性的内涵和关系进行了辨析，提出了师范性与学术性是一个统一的整体，师范性就是学术性的一种表现形式的观点。同时就解决师范性与学术性的矛盾提出了建议：延长师范教育学制，加强教育科学研究、严格实施教师资格认证制度。     

儿童生活与儿童教育

儿童的存在不仅具有生物学的意义，还应该具有文化的意义。对于成长中的儿童，教育无疑是儿童生活的重要组成部分，教育具有重建生活的意义。儿童世界是由生活世界和科学世界组成，而生活世界里内在的精神生活和外在的文化（游戏的、童话的等）交织在一起。关注儿童的生活世界，就应从内至外展开，即从内在的精神生活开始向外在的社会生活铺开。

There is an element of wonder, sometimes awe and sometimes curiosity, in children. This element comes to the fore in their relationships with nature, and in an exciting way with Bible stories. Even very young children have a surprising vocabulary. But there was a time when all of these attitudes of surprise and wonder were kept under strict control, as in the days of St. Jerome. AUTISTIC SPECTRUM DISORDERS AND ASIAN CHILDREN

ABSTRACT:  This paper compares the incidence of the diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) among White and Asian children with reference to data obtained from thirteen local education authorities (LEAs) in England. It begins by outlining some of the theoretical debates associated with the definition, diagnosis and prevalence of ASD. The empirical component underpinning this work uses logistic modelling to ascertain whether the proportion of children with a statement of special educational need (SEN) for ASD is different for Asian and for White children and whether the proportion of children with a statement of SEN for ASD varies between LEAs. The discussion speculates as to possible reasons for the differences found and identifies areas for further research.     

DISCRIMINATION AMONG INDIVIDUALS V. DISCRIMINATION AMONG GROUPS

Achievement tests are used for discrimination both among individuals and among classes. Item selection procedures which are recommended for constructing tests for individual differentiation may not be adequate for tests for discrimination among classes. It is suggested that the item intraclass correlation should be used as an index for item selection in tests designed for the measurement of class performance. An example is presented which shows that using the intraclass correlation for item selection yields different results than using item-test correlation coefficients.

DEVELOPING TALENTED CHILDREN: PROBLEMS AND EXPERIENCES

A project in the 7th and 8th grades aimed at providing the best possible school conditions to promote development of the abilities of children aged 13–14. The children's activity was founded on two main psychological and pedagogical principles: adequate motivation, and individual differentiation. The children's development was monitored by means of intelligence and personality tests. The main results were as follows: there was a pronounced improvement in the performance tasks, but no significant development in verbal tasks; the role of inner motives had greatly increased but the pupils had become more tense and impatient by the end of the school year. Necessary alterations in the project are outlined.
