In China's dancing arena today where most dancers pursue hasty success, it is truly rare to prepare a dance concert for as long as seven years. And more amazingly, the whole production is planned and presented by merely one person who choreographs and directs the dance concert, designs all costumes, stage settings and lighting as well as dances its leading part. But Miao Xiaolong made it. Several months ago, this young talented teacher at the dancing department of the Music School of Shanghai Normal University presented his dance concert "The Colors of Water" in Shanghai.  相似文献

Modern museums are striving to keep pace with the rapidly evolving modern art and the changing needs of audience. Accordingly, the concept of museum has developed and trans- formed. Imagine the future of Xi'an as a city of museums. It will be a city immersed in a profound artistic atmo- sphere, embracing broader space for exchanges, exhibiting higher educa- tional value, thus truly demonstrating the cultural background required for an international city. This is exactly what we have been hoping for a city's cultural inheritance.  相似文献

In November 11, 2003, the renowned Chinese writer Zhou Erfu, at age 83 and in the advanced stage of cancer, strenuously wrote a letter to his Japanese friend Yi Kenichiro, inquiring about the translation and publication of the Japanese edition of his novel "The Panorama of the Great Wall" which reflects the whole period of the Chinese people's anti-Japanese war from 1937 to 1945. Yi Kenichiro, with a medium-sized figure, gentlemen-like appearance and unswerving disposition, is a Japanese professor expert in Chinese literature and language. He was then busy with his teaching work and the translation of the Japanese version of Zhou's novel. Receiving Zhou's letter, he fell into a sad mood and hoped Zhou could be recovered soon and live up to the day when the whole novel was published in Japan.  相似文献

Wang Xiaoshuai's Cannes prizewinning film Shanghai Dreams (Qing Hong) is rooted in first handed memories. In the late 60s, when China feared attack by the USSR, armament factories and other "front line" industries were relocated from cities on the eastern seaboard to remote inland areas, and idealistic young adults were persuaded to resettle in dirt-towns like Guiyang to staff them. Less than 15 years later, many were desperate to move back to the urban sophistication of such cities as Shanghai, disillusioned by life in the sticks and eager to taste the newFreedoms of the 80s. The Wu family is a case in point.  相似文献

In China, artists born in the 1970s can always be identified by the variety and individuality of their works, Unlike the earlier generations who shared simllar strong social and political beliefs, the younger generation of artists doesn‘t really form schools with distinctive common features, such as the “scar arts” in the late 1970s, the “neoclassic” in the 1980s and the “new generation” as well as the “political pop arts” in the 1990s.  相似文献

When hostesses dressed in outfits with image of white-and-blue porcelain and holding red flower bouquets served medals at Olympic medal ceremonies during the 2008 Games, the readapted, lingering melody of the Chinese folk song "Jasmine Flower" sounded in the sports venues. According to Wang Ning, an official in charge of medal ceremonies from the Beijing Olympic Games Organizing Committee, the music used at the medal ceremony was recreated based on the original melody of "Jasmine Flower" which is perhaps the most popular Chinese folk song.  相似文献

“Bund” derives from an Anglo-Indian word for an embankment along a muddy waterfront. In the late 19^th century after Shanghai was forced to open to Western colonists, the Bund became the site of some of the earliest foreign settlements and now is known as one of the most recognizable architectural symbols of Shanghai. But the Bund is not a feature exclusive to Shanghai. Similar styles of architecture also appear in other coastal or river cities in China, such as Wuhan,Guangzhou, Chengdu and Fuzhou.  相似文献
