The contrastive study of cultural connotations of color words in English and Chinese——Take“red”and“红色”for Example

Color words, as a part of language, has different cultural connotations in different culture, which usually express strong cultural characteristics. This thesis explores the similarities and differences between the color word"red"and"红色". Further comprehension of color words in different cultural background can help us to communicate with others successfully.
