农村留守人口问题是农村劳动力转移过程中出现的社会问题。地处西部地区的甘肃,建设社会主义新农村的任务艰巨,农村留守人口在性别、年龄、素质结构上的失衡,使培育“有文化、懂技术、会经营”的新型农民和建设新农村面临重大挑战。解决农村留守人口问题的根本在于消除城乡二元社会结构。

Peer Networking as a Dynamic Approach to Supporting New Faculty

This article presents a dynamic method of supporting new faculty through a peer support group led by a facilitator. Group members participate in ongoing self-assessment, individualized goal setting, and activities that reflect the changing needs of the group. We explain the history and activities of the group and also the benefits for institutions considering developing a support mechanism for new faculty.

Networking for Leadership,Inquiry, and Systemic Thinking: A New Approach to Inquiry-Based Learning

Recent changes in science education standards have mandated a prominent place for inquiry learning in science curricula. However, change from traditional teaching methods to a more inquiry-centered approach is difficult to enact. While research to date demonstrates a number of successful inquiry implementations, it also reveals a slow rate of change along with possible reasons for difficulty in adopting inquiry instructional methods. Further, inquiry reforms have failed in the past. The Networking for Leadership, Inquiry, and Systemic Thinking (NLIST) initiative, sponsored by the Council of State Science Supervisors and NASA, proposes to facilitate inquiry through systemic reform designed to avoid the mistakes of the past and incorporate new knowledge about teaching and learning. Systemic elements targeted for change include a standard conceptualization of science as inquiry, instructional materials, professional development, administrative support and leadership, facilities, community involvement, and technology infrastructure. To date, the initiative has created a detailed definition of inquiry learning and a rubric for evaluating instructional materials against this definition. This paper presents the theoretical and empirical foundations for the NLIST initiative, describes its progress, and outlines future goals.

教育是民族振兴的基石,在现代化建设中具有基础性、先导性和全局性的作用。随着留守儿童的父母外出务工,家庭成员尤其是父母角色的长时间缺位,导致大量农村留守儿童缺乏父母的亲情呵护与完整的家庭教育和监管,致使他们在学习、生活、情感、教育等方面存在着诸多问题。根据农村留守儿童教育面临的现状和主要困境,要从家庭、学校、社会等多方入手,解决农村留守儿童教育问题。     

网络新动力:教学法和组织

远程教育是在不同空间、不同时间,以不同方式组织进行的。最为明显的差异则体现在远程教育组织形式上采用双模式和单模式的国家之间。基于网络的概念,一种新的组织形式可能比上述两者更有效率。这一概念的总体原则是：国家级网络将可以利用各地的资源（即内容专家,教学设计人员,各种通讯技术,以及提供学习支持系统所需的资源）,并且在灵活、开放、“混合重组”的基础上为特定课程或项目配置所需的任何资源包。唯一的永久性机构应该是精干的管理部门,根据合约负责每个特定项目所需的人事和资源配置。本报告将详细阐述这一网络组织的概念,并举出一些初期案例。     

IMTEC: The Networking of Research and Resources

This article briefly outlines the history of IMTEC, from its origins within the OECD in Paris to its present independent state as a Norwegian non‐profit‐making foundation. Three aspects of its work are identified: Research and Development, Networking Activity, and Consultancy (Technical Assistance). Detailed information about each of these is given. The authors who write on their own behalf, conclude by anticipating a period of interesting expansion for the organisation.     

Networking theoretical frames: the ReMath enterprise

In this article of the special issue devoted to the European project ReMath, we present and discuss the affordances of this project in terms of networking between theoretical frameworks. After clarifying the vision of theories and networking adopted in this project, we introduce the methodological constructs that have been developed and used in ReMath for performing the planned networking enterprise. We then present its outcomes, focusing on different facets of this networking activity: the identification of possible connections and complementarities between frameworks, the identification and elaboration of boundary objects between cultures, and the progressive building of a shared theoretical framework regarding semiotic representations. In the last part of this article, we review the whole networking enterprise from the perspective of research praxeology.

Networking vs. rote learning strategies in concept acquisition

Following presentation of a slide-tape instructional program, the performance of subjects in two learning strategy groups-networking and rote-was compared to a control group on a concept learning task and a spatial learning task. Networking proved more effective than rote learning and the control group on both tasks; networking also allowed for improved retention over time (in this case, one week). This article reviews some of the research on learning strategies and suggests how the network strategy can enhance learning in academic situations.
