Powerful Portfolios for Young Children

The use of portfolio assessment is a valuable tool for teachers to use with young children to better understand how young children develop and learn. An intentional data collection and documentation system becomes a very powerful assessment tool, one that is authentic and based on children’s capabilities and strengths. Children, educators, parents, and administrators are able to see the collection of items that celebrates the child. This article will describe several aspects of the portfolio system including: what a portfolio is; it’s purposes; how to create the portfolio; and, how to use the portfolio with families.

Well-chosen and wisely shared literature facilitates transitions and builds bridges in the lives of young children. Literature links are discussed and books are reviewed for infant, toddler, preschool, and primary age children and transitional readers.

根据青少年运动员的生长发育特征和人体生理学与运动生理学的有关理论知识，结合中跑运动项目的供能特点。设计了一套新的中跑训练实验方案。并从心率与运动强度关系、中跑运动的供能特点、提高心率与发展机体供能关系、青少年儿童的身心发展特征等几个方面探讨它的可行性。     

Common Core History for Young Europeans

The prospect of European integration calls urgently for educational provision which will enable Europe's school‐leavers to understand and appraise the process. Essentially, this provision is historical. What is distinctive about Europe? What made us what we are? It is suggested that modem Europe is, at bottom, the result of two related things‐‐conflict and ideas‐‐and that the conflicts have arisen because of the ideas, and have constituted their final working‐out. Three ideas, with their related conflicts, seem fundamental, and these three pairings indicate the appropriate content for a history course for Europe's senior pupils. The three ‘ideas ‘ are the Reformation, the Enlightenment and Nationalism, and the related conflicts are the 30 Years’ War, the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars and the World Wars of this century. The coverage of the first pairing is sketched as an example of how the whole course may be mounted and to introduce a master theme of European history for the last 300 years. The paper ends with a brief discussion of why other seemingly crucial factors are not selected and discussed.     

Education for Adults,Jobs for the Young

The proposals of the Holland Committee and DES Circular 10/77 favour some expansion of the further education sector to alleviate unemployment amongst young people. The uncritical acceptance of these proposals and the strength of the youth lobby may lead to even greater expansion in this sector, in the absence of alternative suggestions. In the present paper, it is argued that work could be created on a large scale by providing adults in employment with extended periods of paid educational leave. Some consideration is given to ensuring that such a policy has an egalitarian impact. A re‐ordering of educational priorities is advocated to limit the increased expenditure which such a policy would require.

本研究对《中国幼儿智力量表》和《幼儿适应技能评定量表》的测试结果进行了分析并发现,只有０．４％的一般样本同时符合智力缺损和适应技能缺损标准,与理论估计值一致。因此,在临床应用时,应把《中国幼儿智力量表》和《幼儿适应技能评定量表》的测试结果结合起来使用     

Young children's idiosyncratic written algorithms for addition

The research reported in this paper is concerned with the natural written algorithms created by nine- and ten-year olds when solving simple addition problems. It was undertaken with one hundred and seventeen children in Year 5 (Grade 4), who, because of their involvement in the Calculator Aware Number Curriculum (CAN) Project, had not been taught traditional pencil-and-paper algorithms for the basic operations. This provided an opportunity to investigate their responses when asked to solve a selection of additive word problems on paper without the use of calculators. The children's solutions were analyzed in terms of directionality of working and the emergence or otherwise of standard or idiosyncratic written algorithms. A preference for a horizontal layout and for working from left to right was shown to exist, and the children produced a wide variety of original and creative written algorithms.

指出随招生规模的扩大,普通院校青年教师较早承担研究生培养任务,但往往生源质量一般,科研能力低,如何对研究生进行有效指导是青年教师面临的突出问题。依据自身经验,从师生和谐关系的建立,分阶段文献调研能力培养,定期小组讨论,拓展视野、增强交流以及论文写作的规划和修改等方面,总结了一些行之有效的做法和经验。
