Cognitive and Emotional Processes as Predictors of a Successful Transition Into School

Research Findings: The aim of this research was to delineate developmental processes that contribute to early school success. To achieve this aim, we examined emotion regulation, executive functioning, emotion knowledge, and metacognition at ages 3 and 4 as distal and proximal predictors of age 5 achievement and school adjustment in a sample of 263 children (42% non-White). We also explored mediational pathways among these 4 processes in the prediction of the age 5 outcomes. Results revealed that all 4 processes affected achievement and school adjustment, but in different ways, with executive functioning emerging as a key predictor. Practice or Policy: Executive functioning was found to be a key factor in predicting achievement and school performance in the kindergarten year. This finding provides support for the development of executive functioning training programs that can be applied in the preschool classroom, particularly for promoting reading development. However, additional emphasis should be placed on both cognitive and emotional processes in the preschool years to promote optimal development.

听讲式接受学习仍是传统课堂教学的主要模式，但它存在着很多固有的缺陷。从认知负荷的观点来看，在这种模式下，教师很难有效地解决学生认知负荷的个别差异，大部分学生不能满负荷学习；学生也很难有效地使用认知资源、认知容量、认知策略和信息外存。剖析这些影响学习荻取知识和技能的因素，可给课堂教学改革以启迪。     

Circadian Rhythms in Cognitive Processes: Implications for School Learning

Circadian variations have been found in cognitive processes, such as attention, working memory, and executive functions, which may explain oscillations in the performance of many tasks. These cognitive processes improve during the day and decrease during the night and early hours of the morning. Sleep deprivation further decreases these cognitive processes during daytime hours. This review analyses the recent findings on circadian rhythms in cognitive processes, as well as the implications of these rhythms for school learning.     

小组合作学习模式在高中地理课堂教学中的运用

新课程改革倡导自主学习、合作学习和探究学习,这也是高中地理新课程改革的核心理念。对此,本学期我校创建了卓雅课堂,主要在高效课堂“五环节”教学中充分发挥小组合作的作用,并且在地理教学中进行了大胆的尝试。

新课程背景下,高中信息技术课堂教学采取小组合作学习的方式来提高教学效率.在小组合作学习的过程中,教师首先给班级的学生进行了分层和分组,并根据分层教学和分组教学的特点组织教学内容、制定评价机制,以此来引导学生进行自主学习,促进学生相互帮扶、协作学习,保证了小组合作学习的顺利进行,极大提高了课堂教学效率.     

Perceptions of Learning: Interviews with First and Second Graders in a Hungarian Primary School

The paper discusses children’ attitudes towards school and learning soon after entering primary school in Hungary. First and second grade primary school students (N?=?33) were interviewed. The interviews explored the following questions: What are the teachers’ and the children’s roles in the classroom? What is learning? Where do children learn? What kind of learning strategies do students use in arithmetic and reading? How are students evaluated in the school? What do students like best about school? The data suggest that the children quickly adapt to the school environment and, on the whole, have a positive attitude towards school and learning but—with a few exceptions—their views on the role of schooling in life reflect traditional, school subject centred goals and values and little awareness of the learning process.

Creating a Comprehensive School Reform Model: The Talent Development High School With Career Academies

This article discusses the need for comprehensive reforms in school organization, curriculum and instruction, and professional development in order to address the typical, serious problems of large, urban, nonselective high schools. The article describes the design, implementation, and effectiveness of the Talent Development High School with Career Academies, a comprehensive school reform model developed to meet these schools' needs. A plan is outlined for additional research, development, and evaluation activities to complete this model for the remaining core high school academic subjects and grades, and to provide technical assistance materials and support for further replicating the model in high schools across the nation.

中学生集体活动参与度的调查与分析报告——以上海市南洋模范中学为例

在当下“重智育”的教育教学实践中,德育视野中中学生“参与意识”的建构未能引起教育界足够的重视。通过以南洋模范中学为样本进行的问卷调查和分析发现,应试压力、学校集体活动设计的趣味性和年级针对性是制约学生参与集体活动的主要因素,而轻松、简约、开放、能够激发动机、满足爱与归属需要和能调剂学习生活的活动则将受到学生的普遍欢迎。相应地,这一现状的改善需要通过学校、学生和社会等多方努力：学校须改善现有的僵化不移的活动设计,并以适当的形式提高学生对集体活动的认可度,此外,以“智育”为中心的社会评价体系也有待进一步修正、完善。     

初中地理小组合作学习的有效性探讨

小组合作学习是指在课堂教学中努力发掘学生主体潜能的一种有效手段,它是对课堂教学方式进行变革的一种重要举措。文章以“五学”课堂教学模式为背景,结合初中地理学科特点,从三个层面论述了如何有效开展小组合作学习的问题：合理划分小组是前提,精确设置问题是根本,实施分层评价是关键。     

中学生学习策略发展的研究

通过用自行编制的《中学生学习策略量表》对初一至高三405名学生进行了调查，结果表明：（1）初中生对学习策略的掌握还处于他控状态，且尚未内化，策略运用水平不稳定，高中生对学习策略的掌握运用达自控水平；（二）初、高中阶段，优生学习策略总体水平显高于中等生、差生、而中等生和差生间差异不显；（三）初中男、女生间学习策略总体水平无显差异，高中女生学习策略总体水平显高于男生。     

'It Would Have Been Bad': The Development of Historical Imagination and Empathy in a Group of Secondary Aged Pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties

Andrew Turner, who teaches in a school for pupils with severe learning difficulties, considers the teaching of history by teachers of such pupils and suggests that the skills of imaginative reconstruction and empathy are relatively neglected areas, particularly when dealing with distant historical periods. Recent research with mainstream primary pupils illustrates the possible parallels and the article gives details of a small-scale study of one group of Key Stage 3 pupils.     

高中生数学学习适应性问卷的初步编制

基于文献回顾、学生访谈及理论构建,编制了高中生数学学习适应性问卷并施测于561名高中生．探索性因素分析结果表明,高中生数学学习适应性可解构为数学听讲适应、数学学习态度适应、数学解题方法适应、求助数学教师适应、数学应考适应及数学合作学习适应6个因子．全问卷的内部一致性系数和分半信度分别为0.95和0.89,各分问卷的信度均在0.82以上,分问卷与全问卷得分之间的相关系数在0.68～0.89之间,各分问卷得分之间的相关系数在0.42～0.70之间,全问卷总分与高中生同期期末数学考试成绩的相关系数为0.40．     

The Study of Cooperative Learning Model in High School English Teaching

美国著名教育评论家埃里斯和福茨在其新署《教育改革研究》一书中曾这样断言:合作学习如果不是当代最伟大的教育改革的话,那么它也至少是最大的之一。合作学习是当前在世界范围内被广泛使用的课堂教学组织形式。在全面推进素质教育的今天,英语教学的改革取得令人瞩目的成绩,但不可否认,英语教学仍然存在很多弊端,传统教学仍然占主导作用,合作学习作为对传统班级授课制的一种突破和补充,目前被广泛应用于高中英语教学中。在英语教学中组织合作学习不仅可以给学生提供语言实践的环境,也可以提高学生的合作精神、竞争意识和集体荣誉感。本文在这种思想指导下,通过对国内外文献资料的研究和对英语新课程标准的学习,及对高中英语教学现状的分析,以合作学习的基本理念和现代教学设计理论为指导,通过文献法和案例分析法,对高中英语合作教学作了初步探讨。笔者就如何在高中英语教学中组织合作学习展开研究。笔者认为合作学习不仅可以在英语课堂教学中展开,也可以在课堂的前后展开,合作学习可以贯穿在整个单元,甚至整个学期的教学当中。让学生一起参与备课,上课,评课等环节,不仅可以让学生更好地掌握知识点,更可以让学生互帮互助,体验到合作的乐趣,并从中获得成就感。笔者基于这种想法,立足于普通高中英语教学,设计了合作学习在高中英语教学中的操作模式,并通过案例分析法具体地阐述该合作学习操作模式的使用情况。笔者通过此研究,希望对英语教师有所启发,并在一定程度上提高英语教学效率及合作学习的效率。     

试论问题导学模式在高中教学数学中的应用

问题导学模式强调问题导入的积极作用,文章结合教学实践探讨问题导学的意义和应当遵循的原则,并提出有针对性的问题导学策略,进而以教学案例说明问题导学在高中数学教学中的具体应用,从多样化问题导学手段和因材施教两个方面阐述应用策略。
