中国人的传统宇宙观可以剖析为四个层面,即源于混沌观、气化生生观、有机整体观和时空合一观,而这些观念无一不与"阴阳"紧密相关。阴阳学说是中国人传统宇宙观的哲学根基。     

论高等学校教学的学术性

高等学校的教学因其复杂性、创新性而具有学术性。因此,应该确立教学在高校的学术地位,这是高校自身发展规律的诉求,更能促进高校回归本位,担负起时代所赋予的人才培养的使命。同时,教学学术地位的确立也将为教师的专业发展开辟新的路径。     

Building world class universities through innovative teaching governance

There is a growing interest in educational innovation in universities at a global level, as a tool designed to create strategic changes in order to improve quality. This study evaluates the global improvement in universities as a result of educational innovation governance, as a pillar of the so-called world-class research universities and as a tool for continuous improvement in higher education. The methodology has been designed by different educational innovation groups from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Universidad de Cádiz, and the International Project Management Association Spanish Board, and includes an analysis of 67 universities from 20 countries. The study is based on 32 universities in Spain, as well as 35 other international universities that carry out educational innovation activity. The results show that universities that have a more mature educational innovation governance in place, both in Spain as well as in other countries, are higher in the ranking of universities (Webometrics). These universities demonstrate a tendency to work on educational innovation projects, which are contributing to strategic changes that will permanently revitalise teaching, whilst also improving research and its links to society.     

Aspects of mathematics education in some third world universities

Information on principal aspects of the present state of mathematics education in 18 third world universities is presented. The principal tool used in collecting the information was a questionnaire which was widely distributed. Analysis of the information reveals important variations and similarities in the programs and structures of responding institutions. Some weaknesses are identified.This is an extended version of a paper presented to the Symposium on the State of Physics and Mathematics in Africa, held at ICTP, Trieste, Italy, 8–13 October, 1984.

Organizational socialization and induction in universities: Reconceptualizing theory and practice

This paper argues that the theory and practice of induction and socialization of new academic staff in universities have been based on a partial, corporatist, perspective influenced by now defunct structural-functionalist theory. We develop a more sophisticated theoretical understanding of organizational socialization and explore its consequences for the practice of induction of new academic staff. These ideas are based on secondary data derived from a number of studies of new academic appointees (NAAs), 27 in-depth interviews we conducted with academics in ten Canadian and English universities, both chartered and unchartered, and a five year ethnographic study of academic staff in a single unchartered English university.

提出了有向图顶点拓扑有序序列的概念，给出了有向图存在拓扑有序序列的充要条件，把高校必修课程之间的领先关系抽象为有向图，把选课问题抽象为在有向图中寻找拓扑有序序列问题，从而成功地解决了高校的选课问题。

两次世界大战期间英国大学教育数量发展平缓,科技教育发展不足;建立大学拨款委员会是这一时期大学教育发展的突破点,也是英国大学管理制度创新的范例;大学经费资助政策的倾斜与兼顾促进了英国不同层次大学的发展。     

Widening participation,social mobility and the role of universities in a globalized world

ABSTRACT

The paper presents the initial results of research into the individual conditions of the psychosocial functioning of NEETs in the educational context. The study was performed between May and September 2017 in Slovakia, Poland and Estonia, by means of a triangulation of quantitative tools. The general objective of the study is to diagnose the level of critical thinking (Cornell Critical Thinking), reasoning (T.I.P.), problem-solving strategies (NCS) and individual development assessment (IDEA) in a group of NEETs, and to compare these variables with one another and with socio-demographic characteristics. Based on an initial analysis of the results (100 individuals from each country were invited to participate in the survey; 235 questionnaires were gathered), we can see that the group analysed presents a relatively high level of critical thinking and reasoning (intelligence indicator) and an average level of problem-solving attitude. Breaking stereotypes about NEETs, the study fits into the critical paradigm of andragogical research. The results served as the foundation for a series of postulates regarding educational programmes based on andragogical assumptions.     

Medium of instruction in Hong Kong universities: the mis-match between espoused theory and theory in use

This analysis, based on open interviews, focuses on the language of instruction, with full time students in Hong Kong universities. A mis-match was apparent between espoused theory or policy and theory in use, or practice, with respect to English as the medium of instruction, English as a second language and improvement of English standard at university. Student comments suggested that the discrepancies between policy and practice led to declining standards due to the lack of opportunities for practice. Bringing policy in line with practice, is recommended either by adopting first language instruction or by creating zones or occasions where it is expected that English will be used.
