本文通过比较《红字》两个中译本对英汉两个民族不同的语言表达习惯、宗教信仰及历史背景等方面的处理。来探宛文化差异对翻译的影响。     

文化差异对译者主观能动性的影响

由于人类语言文化之间存在差异,翻译不能只是文字上机械地一一对应,而应是两种文化之间的深入交流。为了忠实有效地传达原文的信息,译者必须在不同文化背景的制约下灵活适度地发挥主观能动性,克服文化差异导致的翻译障碍。本文通过翻译实例,阐述了译者面对不同的文化背景时可以从回归语义层、转换语言形象、突破原文语言形式三方面发挥其主观能动性以创造出忠实、流畅、自然的译文。     

英汉委婉语之对比

各种文化背景下的语言中都有委婉语,它是一种普遍的语言现象,它有自己特有的源泉和构成手段,在不同的社会里按照一定的轨迹不断变化发展。同时作为一种文化现象,它折射出东西方的不同社会心理和社会习俗。对比分析英汉委婉语有助于学习英语和进行跨文化交际。     

从文化差异视角看外语教学中的跨文化交际

外语教学的目的是与不同文化背景的人进行交流,实现跨文化交际。缺乏跨文化交际能力,容易引起交际过程中语用失误和非语言交际的失误,从而导致交际障碍,因此,大学英语教学过程中要重视学生跨文化交际能力的培养。     

从"不中听"信息的传递看中西交际风格的文化差异

尽管“不中听”信息传递的基本言语结构和序列具有某些普遍性特征，但由于文化价值观差异，不同文化传递相同内容的信息时交际策略的选择倾向有所不同，因而形成不同的交际风格。本文从交际与文化互动的宏观角度对于“不中听”信息的传递在中西不同的语言及文化背景下所呈现出的风格差异进行了跨文化对比研究。

Fostering Cross Cultural Competence in Preservice Teachers Through Multicultural Education Experiences

Diversity is increasing in our classrooms implying the need for teachers to be prepared to work effectively with students from different backgrounds, such as cultural, linguistic or national origin. Additionally, the focus on diversity education is important because of the need for students to develop, from an early age, the ability to communicate with and relate to others from diverse backgrounds. This article focuses on cross cultural experiences gained from cross cultural partnerships between preservice teachers and English Language Learners over the course of a semester at a medium size public university. Evidence from this project suggests the need for teacher educators to model and support appropriate cultural competencies that are critical in classrooms that are fast becoming more culturally as well as linguistically diverse.

Cooperative learning on an international masters

Postgraduate taught provision in Anglophone higher education contexts is becoming increasingly populated by cohorts of students from a wide range of linguistic, cultural and educational backgrounds. However, the voices of these students on their learning experiences remain largely unheard. Little previous research exists on the experiences of higher degree students as they participate in group work in multi-cultural settings. This study investigates the perspectives of students from a variety of educational backgrounds on their experiences of cooperative learning in multi-national groups on a Masters programme at a UK university. Seven focus groups were conducted with students from a range of countries including Confucian Heritage Cultures (CHC) and non-CHC backgrounds. Students perceived group work as often lacking adequate structure, leading to feelings of confusion and insecurity. While it was apparent that a complex interplay of cultural, cognitive, and linguistic factors impacted on the functioning of collaborative learning, the data highlighted the need to provide students with more structure and guidance for cooperative learning environments and the importance of creating intercultural learning opportunities for students to better understand the impact of cultural backgrounds on approaches to cooperative learning in multi-national situations.

随着语用学的发展,谎言研究不再是语言学研究领域的灰姑娘。最近几十年涌现出了大量的谎言研究文献。通过对自建的"中美电视剧剧本语料库"中谎言例子的分类对比研究发现,不同文化背景下同类谎言的使用存在着量的差异。对产生这些差异的文化因素和个体因素的进一步分析为这种现象提供了合理的解释。     

中国英语中的民族身份标志研究

中国英语指的是被具有中国语言和文化背景的人普遍使用,带有汉语语言和文化特征,能达到语言使用目的,并被其他语言和文化背景的英语使用者接受的英语变体。中国英语的民族身份标志可以从社会语言学、二语习得以及跨文化角度进行论述,在英语教学中保留民族身份具有十分重要的意义。意识到中国英语的存在并把中国文化植入英语教学将是对现有文化教学的有力补充,有助于英语学习者克服“中国文化失语”,并提高跨文化交际能力。     

英汉隐喻跨文化对比与翻译策略探讨

隐喻作为一种语言现象和认知现象在日常生活中无所不在。它更是一种文化现象,不同文化背景下的隐喻蕴涵着各民族特有的文化内涵和思维方式。隐喻的翻译尤其复杂。通过对英汉语言中的隐喻进行跨文化对比发现,常用的隐喻翻译策略有:直接对应策略、转换喻体的归化策略、保留喻体的异化策略和舍弃喻体保留喻义的策略等。

本从三个方面论述汉英婉语的跨化交际研究的必要性；委婉语的间接性；跨化交际中委婉语运用的必要性，不同语言之间，不同化背景下的委婉语存在差异的必然性，并分别讨论了语境和情感对汉英委婉语的跨化交际的影响。

在民族风俗习惯、宗教信仰、地理环境、思维方式等因素的影响下,英汉动物词在联想意义及语言运用等方面存在很大差异。充分了解英汉文化内涵与差异,合理翻译动物词,使译文符合、体现原语文化,能够更好达到跨文化交际的目的。     

基于主体间理论的跨文化交际语用原则研究

文章基于德国哲学家尤尔根·哈贝马斯(Jürgen Habermas)提出的主体间交往行为理论,探讨跨文化交际中的主体间身份建构的意义与语用原则。主张在跨文化交际过程中,具有不同语言文化背景的语用者都应该尊重交际对方的语言文化主体身份、遵守"真诚情、理解性、公正性、平等性"的主体间语用原则,通过意义协商、文化认同和公正平等的方式进行跨文化交际,最大限度地减少或者避免在跨文化交际中出现语言文化霸权式的思维倾向和话语行为。

英汉成语的理解与翻译应从风俗、化背景等方面着手，在充分理解英汉语言和化差异的基础上抓住原成语的实际涵义，力求达到“神似”的效果。     

Languages of origin and education in Europe: A systematic review

European education policies have tended to cultivate linguistic hegemony and preserve cultural uniformity, which has made it difficult for schools to support different cultural backgrounds. This has contributed to the promotion of artificial monolingual interactions that reinforce linguistic decapitalisation processes. The aim of the review on which this article reports was to investigate the treatment and education of languages of origin in Europe. We present findings from a systematic review of scientific articles published during the period 2010–2020. The main findings indicate that language and nationality are equated in European discourses and that public policies are promoted accordingly. These articulations draw on models that alternate between assimilationism and multiculturalism. Both assimilationist and multiculturalist approaches are detrimental to the supposed objective: that of promoting multilingualism. Thus, it is urgent that a consensus be reached, and certain public policies and educational practices promoted which are respectful of linguistic diversity, since the future social cohesion of our multicultural societies depends on this.     

可译性与不可译性的认知阐释

人以“体认”的方式认识世界,认知离不开人的身体经验。语言作为认知的产物和对世界进行范畴化的工具就体现了人的经验。人的生理结构以及所处环境的大致相似性决定了经验和认知模式的相似性,这是翻译中可译性的认知基础。但是不同民族所处具体环境的差异和不同文化背景对人具体认识事物的影响使得不同民族的人对事物认识在语言上有不同的表达方式和思维,这是不可译性的原因。     

阿拉伯-伊斯兰语境下的网络用语研究

网络用语是一种新型的媒体语言,在文化因素的干涉下,不同语言的网络用语逐渐形成自己鲜明的个性,其应用范围也正在向社会的其他领域辐射,对语言的发展产生潜移默化的影响。阿拉伯-伊斯兰语境下的网络用语,在一定意义上颠覆了阿拉伯人现有的文字体系,并呈现出鲜明的民族宗教特色。
