Using discriminant analysis, this study attempts to construct profiles of two types of teachers: those with a low level of job satisfaction and those with a high level of job satisfaction. In addition to their background and demographic characteristics, teachers’ perceptions of their occupation and of their principals’ leadership styles (transformational or transactional) are examined as predictors that discriminate between teachers with low and high levels of satisfaction. The results suggest that teachers with a low level of satisfaction can be reliably distinguished from teachers with a high level of satisfaction by their occupational perceptions, principals’ leadership styles, and a number of their demographic characteristics. Implications of the findings for school principals and teachers are discussed.  相似文献

考察高中教师的工作家庭冲突特点及其对生活满意度的影响。运用问卷法对204名高中教师进行测查,结果表明:(1)高中教师的工作家庭冲突较高,家庭—工作冲突程度较低,工作—家庭冲突的程度显著高于家庭-工作冲突。(2)高中男教师的工作-家庭冲突显著高于女教师,担任职务教师的工作-家庭冲突显著高于未担任职务的教师,周工作时间40小时以上教师的工作-家庭冲突显著高于周工作时间40小时及以下的教师。(3)高中教师的工作家庭冲突与一般生活满意度呈显著负相关。工作-家庭冲突对一般生活满意度具有显著负向预测作用。  相似文献

The study used learning environment variables in investigating changes occurring as students transfer from primary to secondary school, including the role of student sex and school size pathway as influencing factors in changes in learning environment perceptions. The My Class Inventory (MCI) and Questionnaire on Teacher Interaction (QTI) were used in two data-gathering stages, one in the penultimate month of primary schooling and the other in the fourth month of secondary schooling. The sample comprised 1500 students from 47 feeder primary schools and 16 linked secondary schools. The primary schools ranged from very small isolated country schools to larger city schools with hundreds of students. Five different school size transition pathways were defined for analysis: small-to-medium, medium-to-medium, small-to-large, medium-to-large and ‘within-school’ (involving schools with a K-10 structure, but with separate primary and secondary school sites within the same campus). Although the classroom climate in secondary schools was perceived more favourably than in primary schools (especially in terms of less friction and competitiveness), the quality of teacher-student interaction was perceived to deteriorate on most dimensions assessed by the QTI (e.g. a reduction in teachers' leadership, helping/friendly, understanding and student responsibility/freedom behaviours). But changes in environment perceptions across transition varied with student sex and school size pathway. For example, perceptions of class satisfaction across transition deteriorated for girls, but improved for the boys. The findings have implications for administrators and teachers, particularly those with a role within the ‘middle school’ years. The purpose of the present study was to explore the contribution of extracurricular coaching on high school teachers’ job satisfaction. Specifically, the study looked at how perceptions of the coaching environment (athlete relationships, colleague relationships and opportunities through coaching) influenced teachers’ perceptions of stressors (athlete-related and workload-related) and coaching efficacy, and how this in-turn influenced teachers’ job satisfaction. The sample examined 2949 teachers from across Canada who volunteered as high school sport coaches, above and beyond their regular teaching load. The results supported that the data fit the model well (SBχ2(264) = 973.36, p < .001, SRMR = .08, CFI = .91, TLI = .90, RMSEA = .055 CI95 [.052, .059]) and that teachers who reported a positive coaching environment had increased coaching efficacy and decreased perceptions of athlete-related and workload-related stressors. Increased coaching efficacy predicted higher job satisfaction, while increased perceptions of stressors predicted lower job satisfaction.  相似文献

本研究运用问卷方法对北京市1308名小学教师进行调查,发现:第一,北京市小学教师的总体工作满意度达到了较高水平,且教师内在满意度显著高于教师外在满意度。第二,北京市小学教师工作的内在、外在和总体满意度在人口学变量上存在显著差异,表现为:薄弱校教师满意度高于优质校和中等校;男教师满意度高于女教师;学校干部的满意度高于任课教师,副科教师满意度高于主科教师;低年级教师满意度高于中高年级教师;新入职教师与老教师满意度高于中年教师;教师的职称越高,满意度越高。在原因分析的基础上,提出了政策建议。  相似文献

School leadership is seen as important for both schools and for government and private policy-makers. The relationships between teacher-perceived principal leadership styles, teacher-perceived principal decision-making styles and teacher-perceived job satisfaction in schools in Lampung Province, Indonesia were examined. Data were collected by questionnaires from 475 teachers. This paper uses Indonesian data, but the relationships studied will be of wider interest to school stakeholders in Indonesia and to a wider global readership. Considerable effort was placed on the collection of robust data to address existing gaps in the literature about these relationships. This study aims at building a theoretical base for continuous change in education and using this base to test the mediating roles of two key contextual variables, knowledge sharing and trust, in the relationship between the distributed leadership perceptions and continuous change behaviours of teachers. Data were collected from 687 public school teachers. The results showed that the combined effect of knowledge sharing and faculty trust in principal mediated the relationship between teachers’ distributed leadership perceptions and continuous change behaviours. The directions of the coefficients of the relationships between the independent variable and the dependent variable suggested that higher distributed leadership perception leads to increased knowledge sharing and trust in principal, which in turn was associated with greater continuous change behaviours. The study showed that school systems have an extensive capacity for self-improvement, even in the absence of a pre-developed change plan.  相似文献

本研究采用自编的教师工作满意度调查问卷,对北京市七个区的中学教师进行了大规模调查,结果表明:(1)北京市中学教师对校内人际关系(包括与同事、学生关系等)感到最为满意,对学校得到社会认可的程度以及学校的领导与管理也感到比较满意,但是对所在学校的发展环境以及自我实现的满意度相对较低,对其付出与回报的失衡最为不满意;(2)性别因素对工作满意度不存在显著影响;(3)教师在学校决策中的参与度是影响教师工作满意度最为重要的因素。  相似文献

This study aims to investigate how principal's leadership is related to school performance in terms of multi‐level indicators such as school's organizational characteristics, teachers’ group‐level and individual‐level performances, and students’ performances. In the study, strong leadership represents that a principal can be supportive and foster participation for teachers, can develop clear goals and policies and hold people accountable for results, can be persuasive at building alliances and solving conflicts, can be inspirational and charismatic, and can encourage professional development and teaching improvement. The strong leadership is found associated with high organizational effectiveness, strong organizational culture, positive principal‐teachers relationship, more participation in decision, high teacher esprit and professionalism, less teacher disengagement and hindrance, more teacher job satisfaction and commitment, and more positive student performance particularly on attitudes to their schools and learning. The findings support that principal's leadership is a critical factor for school performance at multi‐levels. Implications are advanced for further study and development of leadership.

为了探讨中等职业院校教师的心理资本在工作特征与工作满意度间的中介作用。采用工作特征量表、本土心理资本量表和中职教师工作满意度量表对天津、山西、四川、湖南、浙江和贵州等地的中职教师进行问卷调查。结果发现:中职教师的工作特征、心理资本与工作满意度之间两两相关;心理资本在工作特征与工作满意度之间起到了部分中介作用,其中中介效应占总效应的18.2%,结构方程模型进一步验证了心理资本的中介作用。本研究认为中职教师的工作特征可以通过心理资本对工作满意度产生影响。  相似文献

Researchers have suggested that transformational leadership is an important aspect of effective schools; however, whether the effects vary across related studies and the robustness of the overall effect size remain unclear. A meta-analysis technique was used to synthesize the results of 28 independent studies and to investigate the overall relationship between transformational school leadership and three measures of school outcomes. The study found that, in terms of the mean effect sizes, transformational school leadership does have positive effects on teacher job satisfaction, school effectiveness perceived by teachers, and student achievement. 通过对初中数学教师工作满意度的情况进行调查研究,对调查的结果进行归纳与综合分析,并与国外的情况进行比较,发现工作稳定、收入稳定、有寒暑假、可以带薪休息、领导和同事的关心使他们获得工作的满足感等因素和国外的研究结果有本质不同;工资偏低与教师评价等不满意因素和国外的研究结果相一致。其中学生难管理是当前数学教师不满意的因素之一,这个因素在国外的研究中很少见。  相似文献

Self- and collective efficacy beliefs were examined as correlates of attitudes toward school of teachers, school staff, and parents. 726 teachers, 387 staff members, and 1994 parents from 18 junior high schools in Milan and Rome, Italy, were administered questionnaires assessing self-efficacy beliefs, perceptions about colleagues’ bahavior, collective efficacy beliefs, affective commitment and job satisfaction of teachers and school staff and parents satisfaction with school. Path analyses corroborated a conceptual model in which self- and collective efficacy beliefs represent, respectively, the distal and proximal determinants of affective commitment and job satisfaction for teachers and staff and of satisfaction with school for parents. Perceptions that teachers, staff and parents hold about the behavior of their colleagues largely mediated the links between self- and collective efficacy beliefs. collective efficacy beliefs, in turn, largely mediated the influence that self-efficacy beliefs and perceptions of school constituencies’ behaviors exert on attitudes toward school of teachers, staff and parents.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships between teachers' perceptions of organizational commitment and school health in Turkish primary schools. The Organizational Commitment Scale and the Organizational Health Inventory were used to gather data from 323 randomly selected teachers employed in 20 primary schools in Ankara. Results indicated that teacher compliance commitment was negatively related to both identification and internalization. Three dimensions of school health, institutional integrity, principal professional leadership, and morale, negatively predicted teacher commitment based on compliance. However, teacher internalization commitment was positively predicted by these 3 health dimensions. Professional leadership was the only school health dimension that was significant in predicting identification commitment. Two other dimensions of school health, academic emphasis and resource support, were not significant predictors of the commitment factors. Results of the study are discussed in relation to developing the organizational health of schools and improving the organizational commitment of teachers.  相似文献

为了解高职学院教师工作满意度的现状,找寻提升高职学院教师工作满意度对策的科学依据,运用《高职学院教师工作满意度调查问卷》对中南某省3所省属高职学院293名教师进行了调查。调查发现:高职学院教师的工作总体满意度较高,工作满意度由高到低依次为人际关系、工作本身、学校气氛、专业发展、管理制度、工作环境、薪酬福利;同时,高职学院教师存在一定程度的工作倦怠,并随年龄增大工作倦怠程度加重,而绝大部分教师不善于有效应对工作倦怠。  相似文献
