Relationship satisfaction was examined in college student long‐distance romantic relationships (LDRRs) and geographically proximal romantic relationships (PRRs). LDRR/PRR attachment style proportions and relationship satisfaction were similar. Multiple regression analyses revealed that low attachment avoidance contributed uniquely to high LDRR satisfaction and that low attachment avoidance, low attachment anxiety, and living apart contributed uniquely to high PRR satisfaction. Relational closeness was not a unique predictor of LDRR or PRR satisfaction.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to investigate the predictive value of optimism, perceived support from family and perceived support from faculty in determining life satisfaction of college students in Turkey. One hundred and thirty three students completed the Satisfaction with Life Scale (Diener et al., Journal of Personality Assessment 49(1):71–75, 1985), Perceived Social Support Scale-Revised (Yıldırım, Eğitim Araştırmaları–Eurasian, Journal of Educational Research 17:221–236, 2004), and Life Orientation Test (Scheier and Carver, Health Psychology 4(3):219–247, 1985) and provided demographic information about themselves. Independent samples t-test, correlation, and multiple regression analyses were performed for data analysis. Significant relationships were found among the variables, with regression analysis indicating that perceived support from family, perceived faculty support, and optimism were statistically significant predictors of life satisfaction. The implications of these results are discussed and suggestions made for counseling practice and future research.  相似文献

The present study assessed a developmental task theory of romantic relationships by examining associations between romantic relationship qualities and adjustment across 9 years using a community‐based sample of 100 male and 100 female participants (Mage Wave 1 = 15.83) in a Western U.S. city. Using multilevel modeling, the study examined the moderating effect of age on links between romantic relationship qualities and adjustment. Consistent with developmental task theory, high romantic quality was more negatively associated with internalizing symptoms and dating satisfaction during young adulthood than adolescence. Romantic relationship qualities were also associated with externalizing symptoms and substance use, but the degree of association was consistent across ages. The findings underscore the significance of romantic relationship qualities across development.  相似文献

Although peer-rejected children appear to be at risk for later difficulties, the contribution of preadolescent friendship to adaptive adjustment lacks an empirical foundation. In this 12 year follow-up investigation, 30 young adults who had a stable, reciprocal best friend in fifth grade and 30 who had been chumless completed measures of adjustment in multiple domains. Friendship and peer rejection were found to have unique implications for adaptive development. Lower levels of preadolescent peer rejection uniquely predicted overall life status adjustment, whereas friended preadolescents had higher levels of general self-worth in adulthood even after controlling for perceived competence in preadolescence. In contrast, peer rejection and the absence of friendship were both associated with psychopathological symptoms in adulthood, although neither was uniquely predictive of symptomatology.  相似文献

2 kinds of parental beliefs: endorsed rearing philosophy (authoritative-authoritarian dimension) and affective attitude toward child (positive-negative affect dimension) were examined in 20 normal and 36 depressed mothers as long-term predictors of their rearing behaviors and interaction patterns with their children, and of their ratings of child externalizing problems (Achenbach CBCL). The beliefs were measured when the children were toddlers (Time 1), and maternal behaviors 2-3 years later (Time 2). Mothers' endorsement of the belief in authoritative parenting predicted their frequent avoidance of prohibitive interventions. It also predicted maternal autonomy-granting to the child (more compliant and liberal responses to child-initiated control interventions). Endorsed child-rearing philosophy was a relatively more important predictor of behavior for normal mothers, and affective attitude toward child for the behavior of depressed mothers. Both actual child noncompliance and parental beliefs predicted mothers' ratings of externalizing problems in their children. The former was relatively more important for normal and latter for depressed mothers.  相似文献

This research examined the relations among social presence, satisfaction with learning experiences, and future online enrollment intent. The data for this cross-sectional study (N?=?280) were collected via an online questionnaire at a large university in the midwestern United States. Students taking online courses because of convenience were more likely to enroll in a future course, whereas those taking the course because it was required for their major were less likely. The curiosity and enjoy interaction motives were indicated as the primary motive for taking the online course by almost 20% of the participants. Hierarchical regression analyses demonstrated that both social presence and satisfaction with learning experiences were significant positive predictors of future online enrollment intent. Social presence explained the most variance in the regression equation.  相似文献

采用青少年心理弹性量表和生活满意度量表对某民办高等学校的482名新生进行测量,探讨心理弹性对生活满意度的影响。结果表明:民办高校新生心理弹性水平和生活满意度均处于中等水平;生活满意度与心理弹性总表及个人能力与资源、与抚养者关系和对人文环境的认同与归属三个维度均显著相关。结论:民办高校新生的心理弹性能较好地预测生活满意度。  相似文献

In this study, we examined the effectiveness of peer support for college women mentors who engaged in one-to-one and group mentoring with at-risk adolescent girls. Using data from 162 mentoring pairs, results suggested that mentor support positively predicted mentees’ self-reported improvement after a year of mentoring. An examination of mentees’ self-esteem outcomes revealed that mentor peer support was associated with higher outcomes only for those mentees who had higher pre-program scores; for those with below average pre-scores, mentor support was associated with lower self-esteem. Taken together, these results indicate that mentor support may serve as an important function beyond ongoing training, though its effectiveness may vary based on mentee characteristics. 探讨了大学生情绪调节策略与人际关系困扰及生活满意度的关系.采用大学生情绪调节方式问卷、大学生人际关系综合诊断量表及大学生生活满意度评定量表对320名大学生进行测试,结果发现,大学生的人际关系困扰与正性情绪的情感分享、维持和负性情绪的转移、放松存在显著负相关关系,与正性情绪的克制和负性情绪的发泄、压抑、体验存在显著正相关关系;大学生的生活满意度与正性情绪的情感分享、自我激励、维持、表露和负性情绪的重评、转移、放松有显著正相关关系,与负性情绪的发泄、体验、压抑有显著负相关关系;大学生的情绪调节策略对人际关系困扰和生活满意度有显著预测作用.正性情绪的分享与维持、负性情绪的及时转移与放松有助于改善个体的人际关系状况,提高生活满意度水平.  相似文献

Emotional and Behavioral Predictors of Preschool Peer Ratings   总被引:11,自引:0,他引:11  
It was predicted that social cognitive, behavioral, and affective aspects of young children's social development would predict stable peer ratings of their likability. Measures of likability, emotion knowledge, prosocial and aggressive behavior, peer competence, and expressed emotions (happy and angry) were obtained for 65 subjects (mean age = 44 months). Sociometric ratings, particularly negative, were stable over 1- and 9-month time periods. Correlational analyses showed that emotion knowledge and prosocial behavior were direct predictors of likability. Prosocial behavior mediated the relations of gender and expressed emotions with likability (i.e., gender and expressed emotions were each related to prosocial behavior, and prosocial behavior was related to likability, but neither gender nor expressed emotions were related to likability with prosocial behavior partialled out). Knowledge of emotional situations similarly mediated the age-likability relation. Results uphold the early development of stable peer reputations and the hypothesized centrality of emotion-related predictors of likability.  相似文献

In developed countries, healthy retirees can fulfill their life, but may fear growing old. Yet, there is little empirical data on the relationship between this fear and life satisfaction. This cross-sectional, correlational survey study tested whether a new, summated measure of Fears About Growing Old (FAGO)—derived from exemplifications of Laslett, who posited the theory of the Third Age—significantly predicted life satisfaction and retirement satisfaction after adjusting for significant social participation covariates. A total of 190 Canadian retirees at three senior centers in Ontario, Canada, completed surveys. A pilot study established the reliability and validity of the scales, including the FAGO, used to assess the independent variable. In a regression analysis, fear (R 2 change = .06) was found to be a statistically significant predictor of life satisfaction when controlling for five covariates (current activity, circumstance and pursuing own interest as two reasons for retirement, postretirement work, and perceived social support); overall R 2 = .26. For retirement satisfaction, fear significantly explained variance in the outcome (R 2 change  = .04) while controlling for two significant covariates (current activity and perceived social support); overall R 2 = .14. A work by gender interaction on satisfaction was not found. Other than fear about loss of mobility, men rated loss of partner very high; women rated mortal disease very high. The lowest fear was loss of retirement income for men and loss of earning-power for women. Canada's poverty preventive programs successfully supported senior postretirement life. The FAGO was useful to find senior needs.  相似文献

Middle adolescents’ close friendship strength and the degree to which their broader peer group expressed a preference to affiliate with them were examined as predictors of relative change in depressive symptoms, self-worth, and social anxiety symptoms from ages 15 to 25 using multimethod, longitudinal data from 169 adolescents. Close friendship strength in midadolescence predicted relative increases in self-worth and decreases in anxiety and depressive symptoms by early adulthood. Affiliation preference by the broader peer group, in contrast, predicted higher social anxiety by early adulthood. Results are interpreted as suggesting that adolescents who prioritize forming close friendships are better situated to manage key social developmental tasks going forward than adolescents who prioritize attaining preference with many others in their peer milieu.  相似文献

摘要:采用问卷调查法对511名幼儿教师进行调查,考察幼儿教师工作压力与生活满意度之间的关联,探讨心理资本和工作倦怠在其中的序列中介效应。结果表明:(1)幼儿教师工作压力、心理资本、工作倦怠、生活满意度两两显著相关;(2)幼儿教师工作压力对生活满意度的直接预测作用不显著,但分别通过心理资本、工作倦怠的独立中介作用以及二者的序列中介作用间接预测生活满意度。研究结果提示不仅要重视缓解幼儿教师的工作压力,降低工作倦怠,还要从提升幼儿教师心理资本、发挥个体资源的保护性作用等途径缓解工作压力对幼儿教师生活满意度的不利影响。  相似文献

The comparative effectiveness of preadolescent aggressive behavior, peer rejection, and school functioning were evaluated in the prediction of adolescent delinquency and school maladjustment. Fifth-grade children (n = 112, 69% white, 53% male, M = 11 years old) were followed forward for 7 years until the end of high school. Rejected children were more likely to have a nonspecific negative outcome and more types of negative outcomes than average, popular, or neglected children, particularly among the white students. However, in regression models containing sex, race, aggression, frequent school absences, low grades, and rejection, the only significant predictor of juvenile delinquency or of a nonspecific negative outcome was aggression toward peers. Both aggression and frequent school absences were significant predictors of early school withdrawal. Analyses for the white children in the sample revealed that both rejection and aggression best predicted to the nonspecific negative outcome, whereas aggression alone best predicted to school dropout and to having one or more police contacts. Implications for future longitudinal outcome research and for risk-group identification in racially heterogeneous samples are discussed.  相似文献

为了了解大学生在社交网站中的印象管理和生活满意度的现状,对大学生在社交网站中的印象管理与生活满意度的关系进行了探讨.选取219名在校大学生为研究对象,运用大学生社交网站印象管理倾向问卷和大学生生活满意度评定量表进行问卷调查.结果显示:大学生的社交网站印象管理自我导向倾向明显,生活满意度处于中等偏上水平;社交网站中的印象管理与大学生生活满意度显著正相关(P<0.01),社交网站中的印象管理能显著预测大学生的生活满意度水平(P<0.01).大学生社交网站中的印象管理与生活满意度关系密切,社交网站中的印象管理能显著预测大学生的生活满意度状况.  相似文献
