CASE STUDIES IN CHEMICAL ENGINEERING EDUCATION: THEIR USE AND EVALUATION

A number of case studies of engineering applications are used in the second, third and fourth years of a four‐year chemical engineering degree course. They require the learner to use existing knowledge of engineering principles to understand situations and to solve problems. They involve the transmission of infonnation and procedures, but their principal aim is the encouragement of behaviour and modes of thought of the kind required of practising engineers.

Comprehension and the completion of assignments are easy to assess, but behaviour modification is not No really satisfactory method of assessment has been identified yet, but some criteria are discussed. Direct evaluation of the learning experiences is similarly difficult and indirect evaluation is based on scrutiny of their aims and of the quality of their design.     

PARTICIPATION OF USA UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGES IN CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAMMES

The concept of lifelong education encompasses a number of different types of educational programmes e.g. adult education, recurrent education as well as continuing education. The official legal definition of continuing education in the USA Educational Amendments of 1976 to the Higher Education Act states: “Continuing education programme” means post‐secondary instruction designed to meet the educational ‘ needs and interests of adults, including the expansion of learning opportunities for adults who are not adequately served by current educational offerings in their communities.

The following article presents participation by the US universities and colleges in this form of higher education. It is based oh the paper written by Dr. Rosalind K. Loving, Dean of the College of Continuing Education, University of Southern California and presented during the Salzburg Seminar on Continuing Education which was held from 6 to 26 August 1978 in Salzburg (Austria).     

"新工科"环境下的信息安全专业建设及评估体系研究

针对信息安全专业在"新工科"环境下面临的新问题,分析培养符合创新性卓越工程科技人才需要的基本要素,结合信息安全的专业特色,基于安徽大学的专业结构特点,提出了以通信安全为导向、以"网络空间安全应用型人才培养"为特色的专业培养方案,并给出相应的特色评估方法,以期探索出一条培养具有创新能力的信息安全人才道路.     

应用型本科院校金融工程专业实践教学体系的构建

本文首先介绍金融工程专业的实践教学现状,然后通过分析金融工程专业实践教学的不足,提出了符合应用型本科院校发展的金融工程专业实践教学思路:科学地整合教学资源,从金融工程基本实践能力、专业实践能力、实践发展能力三方面努力探索金融工程实践教学体系。这种实践教学体系的构建,不仅有利于综合提高大学生实践创新能力,同时也有利于为同类院校的工程类专业实践教学提供可借鉴的体系。     

美国《高等教育法》修订与高等教育财政改革

1965年通过的《高等教育法》是美国历史上最为重要的高等教育立法之一,扩展了联邦政府在高等教育财政领域的角色。该法以再授权的方式周期性地予以修订,到目前为止,已进行了8次再授权。2008年通过的《高等教育机会法》是对该法的第8次再授权,本次修订提出了一系列重要的高等教育财政改革措施,并突出体现了促进和改善入学机会、可负担和问责的高等教育财政理念。     

混合化:我国高等教育办学与投资体制变革之走势

高等教育改革的焦点在于体制 ,而办学与投资体制无疑是关键。本文认为 ,混合化是我国乃至全球高等教育体制变革的基本走势。中国高等教育体制经历了自 2 0世纪 80年代以来的深刻变革 ,已初步具备混合化的特征。但面对市场经济体制改革的深化 ,我国高等教育体制变革混合化之路仍然任重而道远。     

HOW IS EDUCATION POSSIBLE? PRAGMATISM, COMMUNICATION AND THE SOCIAL ORGANISATION OF EDUCATION

ABSTRACT:  Education cannot mean that the young are the product of the activities of their teachers. At the same time, we do not speak of education if students would simply learn something irrespective of the ac­tivities of their teachers. In this paper we focus on the question: How is education possible? Our aim is to contribute to a social theory of education, a theory that does not reduce our understanding of educational processes and practices to underlying 'constituting elements' but rather tries to understand the social nature of education as a reality sui generis.     

对在体育科研中应用数学方法的几个问题的思考

指出了体育科学研究应用数学方法所面临的困难；对应用中存在的5个方面的问题：（1）体育科学的方法论基础较弱；（2）体育理论抽象化程度不高；（3）数学方法应用仍处于数理统计水平；（4）对体育本质的认识还存在不确定性；（5）数学基础理论教育还未跟上，进行了分析。最后，展望了在体育科学研究中应用数学方法的前景。     

园林工程课程教学法及实践教学的研究探析

根据目前园林工程课程的特点及存在问题,对教学内容及教学方法提出具体改进措施,并在教师专业素质培养,丰富实践教学内容等方面进行了研究分析.     

政府与家庭的教育经费分担:寻求适当的平衡

尽管在大多数国家 ,政府仍然有望承担教育的主要费用 ,但政府将和家庭、社区和其他社会团体及个人共同分担资助教育经费的责任。本文通过数据比较 ,考察一些国家中政府和家庭分担教育费用的情况。关注的重点是初等和中等教育 ,文中成本的概念包括直接成本和机会成本 ,其中一部分具体讨论到家庭课外补习。与此同时 ,文中还着重讨论了国际机构政策倡议的变革 ,成本分担的替代选择以及在寻求政府和家庭之间教育经费分担平衡时所必须考虑的主要因素     

终身学习背景下培训与继续教育的公平及其政策课题

培训与继续教育在人力资源的持续开发、促进就业、增强劳动者与企业的竞争力、缩小知识与技能差距、促进社会公平方面发挥着不可替代的作用,是我国在构建终身学习体系和学习型社会过程中需要大力加强的领域。本文主要探讨了在我国培训与继续教育需求持续增大且趋向高级化与多样化的背景下,培训与继续教育中不同人群参与机会与成本分担上的差距状况,并从促进培训与继续教育公平的角度,提出应加强制度保障与公共服务体系、完善成本分担机制、促进培训与继续教育机会与内容的多样化等政策建议。     

中学化学教学与环境教育渗透

作者根据社会发展的要求 ,结合中学化学教学的实际 ,通过介绍环境问题的严重性 ,提出在中学化学教学中渗透环境教育的必要性及其途径和方法。
