Recent critiques of the discourse or beliefs and practices of physical education have focused on the restrictive ideological assumptions of the subject. However, these critiques in turn have been criticized for rehearsing once more the gap between theory and practice. Reviews of treatment outcome literature indicate treatment integrity is not regularly assessed. In consultation, two levels of treatment integrity (i.e., consultant procedural integrity [CPI] and intervention treatment integrity [ITI]) provide relevant implementation data. Specifically, assessment of CPI and ITI are necessary to conclude (a) consultation is functionally related to consultee implementation behavior and (b) intervention implementation is functionally related to student outcomes. In this article, study characteristics and the presence of treatment integrity at both levels are examined in 21 studies utilizing Conjoint Behavioral Consultation, a model of consultation that includes multiple consultees. Results indicate that in approximately half of studies, CPI, ITI, or both are assessed and, when reported, treatment integrity is moderately high across both levels. However, there are distinct differences in the assessment and reporting of these levels of treatment integrity. Limitations and implications for consultation research and treatment integrity reporting are discussed.  相似文献

Conjoint behavioral consultation (CBC) is an extension of traditional behavioral consultation in that parents and teachers, with the assistance of a consultant, are joined to identify and address child-related difficulties collaboratively. This article presents a background review of the conceptual and empirical grounds for CBC. A case study of the use of CBC with a young student manifesting an irrational fear of sleeping in his bedroom at home is presented. Specifically, procedures and outcomes of each stage of CBC are described. Considerations for interpreting and using case study results are also presented.  相似文献

In order to increase counselors' effectiveness in cooperative and systemic approaches to problem solving, a large school district offered an in-service consultation program. Two successive training designs were piloted and evaluated. Evaluation of the first training model led to a shortened, revised model that was more efficient and as highly rated by counselor trainees as the earlier, lengthier model. This training program was associated with significant increases in counselor collaboration with faculty and staff. Several recommendations are proposed for further improvements in the training design.  相似文献

The Effective Supervision and Consultation (ESC) model is proposed as a guide for counselor educators who are helping agencies build effective supervision programs. PKI应具有可扩展性,因此当用户数量超出系统容量时,可以简单地通过增加PKI实体数量和管理层次来满足用户的需求,实现从原有系统的平滑扩展.本文讨论了PKI的向上、向下和水平扩展等三种方式,提出了一个路径发现方法来减轻PKI扩展对终端用户所造成的影响,以提高PKI服务的可用性.,The expansibility of PKI is expected to have the features that when the amount of user exceeds the system capacity, the users' requirement can still be met by simply expanding the number of PKI entities and management levels, and this expansion should be achieved smoothly from the original system. The upward, downward, and horizontal expansions of PKI are discussed in this paper. A path discovery method is suggested to reduce the effect of PKI expansion to the end-entities, so as to enhance the availbility of PKI services.  相似文献

This article uses the author's 30 years of teaching consultation as a basis for developing suggestions for those providing training in this field. The article addresses questions about what the content of training should be, how consultation training can link theory to practice and how to respond to persistent challenges to training (e.g., freedom versus constraint, multicultural consultation, and when consultation training should be offered within a preservice curriculum for developing school-based consultants). The training suggestions derive from a model of consultation and consultation training that is based in constructivism and seeks to enhance feelings of empowerment and long term implementation of consultation on the part of the trainee. The article proposes a practitioner-researcher model in which practicing consultants view themselves as researchers who collect data and share information about their practice with other school-based consultants. These shared practices are used to inform the knowledge base and are used as a basis for contributing to the scholarly literature. Finally, this article proposes directions for researching the process and outcome of consultation training that cut across all of the issues raised in this article.  相似文献

An investigation of the effectiveness of school-based behavioral consultation was conducted. Participants were 80 teachers who recently were involved in consultation with a practicing school psychologist. Teachers were asked to evaluate a recent consultation case using a consultant effectiveness scale, a measure of intervention quality, and an intervention outcome index. Results indicated that consultant skills were rated as highly effective, 4 of 6 critical elements of problem solving were included in a majority of cases, and in two thirds of the cases student functioning improved. Significant correlations between consultant skills, consultation quality, and case outcomes were obtained. Potential contributions of field-based consultation research are discussed.  相似文献

Counseling students learn about various theories, models, and career assessment measures during their training. However, the transition to practicum and internship often challenges students to decide on when to apply career theories and measures to specific problems. An assessment schema is proposed to assist counselor trainees with a systematic approach to conceptualizing a client's career problem. With this assessment schema, counselor educators can help trainees organize data into meaningful categories, reduce conceptual confusion, and engage students in the study of careers.  相似文献

Although graduate students should be trained in consulting as well as counseling skills, not all counselor education programs systematically teach such consultation skills. Counselor trainees need to practice and implement those skills in laboratory as well as field settings. Workshops have been used successfully to teach oral delivery consultation skills in a counselor training program. In this article, the workshop is offered as a training tool in consultation skills. The use and purposes of workshops are presented, and procedures are demonstrated regarding the use of workshops within counselor education courses. Recent demographic changes in our society have wrought new challenges for schools as growing numbers of students from diverse racial and linguistic backgrounds move toward becoming the majority in public schools. Because schools are slow to change and may lack the internal expertise in multicultural education, consultants are needed who can provide assistance to teachers and administrators attempting to respond to these new challenges. The purpose of this article is to provide a framework that consultants can use for communicating and negotiating change in schools. In this consultation model, consultants work with educators, community members and students to: (a) define terminology and agree upon the parameters of the consultation process; (b) recognize the 'impact of ideology; (c) transform the language of schools; (d) focus on group empowerment; (e) negotiate power conflicts; (f) involve the community; (g) transform staffing, decision making, and resource allocation; and Oa) recreate an inclusive classroom environment.  相似文献

This study describes a new approach to undergraduate science training that offers an alternate model to the national objective of scaling up scientific research interests and capabilities among undergraduate students. With this new focus, we seek to more effectively bring scientific research methods and experiences to larger numbers of students in non-elite educational circumstances. Our model has been designed and implemented, at the John Jay College and the Borough of Manhattan Community College, both of which are part of the City University of New York (CUNY), where we have a majority non-White and economically disadvantaged student body. We have successfully engaged large numbers of undergraduate students by linking multiple classes in the social and behavioral sciences to build collective cross-disciplinary research projects that give every enrolled student an opportunity to receive high-quality research training and create cumulative data sets over years that are cumulative, collaborative, and of professional value.  相似文献
