Inhomogeneous Differential Realization, Boson-Fermion Realization of OSP(2,1) Superalgebra and Its Representations

Homogeneous and inhornogeneous differential realizations of the OSP(2,1)superalgebra on the spaces of homogeneous and inhomogeneous polynomials and the corresponding boson-fermioii realizations are studied.The new indecomposable and irreducible representations of the OSP(2,1)are given on subspaces and quotient spaces of the universal enveloping algebras of Heisenberg-Weyl superalgebra.All the finite dimensional irreducible representation of the OSP(2,1)superalgebra is naturally obtained as special cases.     

Assessment of Containment Structures Against Missile Impact Threats

In order to ensure the highest safety requirements, nuclear power plant structures (the containment structures, the fuel storages and transportation systems) should be assessed against all possible internal and external impact threats. The internal impact threats include kinetic missiles generated by the failure of high pressure vessels and pipes, the failure of high speed rotating machineries and accidental drops. The external impact threats may come from airborne missiles, aircraft impact, explosion blast and fragments. The impact effects of these threats on concrete and steel structures in a nuclear power plant are discussed. Methods and procedures for the impact assessment of nuclear power plants are introduced. Recent studies on penetration and perforation mechanics as well as progresses on dynamic properties of concrete-like materials are presented to increase the understanding of the impact effects on concrete containment structures.     

Model predictive control for adaptive cruise control with multi-objectives: comfort, fuel-economy, safety and car-following

For automated vehicles,comfortable driving will improve passengers’ satisfaction.Reducing fuel consumption brings economic profits for car owners,decreases the impact on the environment and increases energy sustainability.In addition to comfort and fuel-economy,automated vehicles also have the basic requirements of safety and car-following.For this purpose,an adaptive cruise control (ACC) algorithm with multi-objectives is proposed based on a model predictive control (MPC) framework.In the proposed ACC algorithm,safety is guaranteed by constraining the inter-distance within a safe range; the requirements of comfort and car-following are considered to be the performance criteria and some optimal reference trajectories are introduced to increase fuel-economy.The performances of the proposed ACC algorithm are simulated and analyzed in five representative traffic scenarios and multiple experiments.The results show that not only are safety and car-following objectives satisfied,but also driving comfort and fuel-economy are improved significantly.

Study and Evaluation in CMOS Full Adders

Low power adder circuits ,SERF,10T-Ⅰ，10T-Ⅱ,10T-Ⅲ and a complementary adder (28T) at physical layout level are evaluated.Simulations based on the extracted adder circuit layouts are run to assess how various circuit setups can impact the speed and power consumption.In addition,impacts of output inveners on the circuit perfomance of modified SERF and 10T adders due to threshold loss problem are also examined.Differences among these adders are addressed and applications of these adders are suggested.

Reliability assessment of networks-on-chip based on analytical models

As technology scales down, the reliability issues are becoming more crucial, especially for networks-on-chip （NoCs） that provide the communication requirements of multi-processor systems-on-chip. Reliability evaluation based on analytical models is a precise method for dependability analysis before and after designing the fault-tolerant systems. In this paper, we accurately formulate the inherent reliability and vulnerability of some popular NoC architectures against permanent faults, also depending on the employed routing algorithm and traffic model. Based on this analysis, effects of failures in the links, switches and network interfaces on the packet delivery of NoCs are determined. Besides, some extensions to evaluate a fault-tolerant method and some routing algorithms are described. The analyses are validated through appropriate simulations. The results thus obtained are exactly the same as or very close to the analytical ones.     

Wavy film flow along periodic wall under monochromatic-frequency flowrate perturbation

Surface wave dynamics of falling film on the surface of periodic rectangular wall under monochromatic-frequency flowrate forcing disturbances is studied via numerical simulation. Waveforms formed on the periodic rectangular wall are different from those on the flat plate. At low frequency, the perturbation introduced at the inlet first undergoes a steady flow region and then develops into solitary waves. When the frequency becomes higher, solitary waves disappear. Film deformations in the steady flow region and characteristics of solitary waves are studied as the film travels down. There are circulations at the depression of periodic wall which are dependent on the local film characteristics and geometry of the corrugation. Moreover, the flow rate and geometry of the corrugations can also affect the evolvement of the monochromatic perturbation.     

Input and Output Balance to Assist in Language Competence

Second Language Acquisition(SLA) education in China suffers from an imbalance between language input and output.Reading and listening are the dominate methods used in the classroom,while speaking and writing are used far less.This paper examines the results that are caused by this imbalanced development of comprehensible output and input.Alternative solutions are examined.The results show the limitations in students’ abilities that are commonly based on the current methods of teaching.The implications are that policy makers,curriculum developers and teachers should strive to balance the amount of comprehensible input and output through various means.     

Performance Analysis Model of ManufacturingSystem under Collaborative Product Commerce

Based on an analysis of the relationship between electronic business (EB) and collaborative product commerce (CPC), the conception of CPC is illustrated rigorously. Development and classification of manufacturing systems are summarized. System features and goals on each stage of a manufacturing system are investigated. In particular, goals and feature characteristics of CPC manufacturing system are discussed. A figure of relationship between the feature and goal ofa CPC manufacturing system is given. A model of CPC manufacturing systems based on a set of five elements including goal, feature, topology, view, and process is proposed. Furthermore, four models of 3D function analysis for PFV, PTV, PTG, and PFG are established.     

A model for automatic identification of human pulse signals

This paper presents a quantitative method for automatic identification of human pulse signals. The idea is to start with the extraction of characteristic parameters and then to construct the recognition model based on Bayesian networks. To identify depth, frequency and rhythm, several parameters are proposed. To distinguish the strength and shape, which cannot be represented by one or several parameters and are hard to recognize, the main time-domain feature parameters are computed based on the feature points of the pulse signal. Then the extracted parameters are taken as the input and five models for automatic pulse signal identification are constructed based on Bayesian networks. Experimental results demonstrate that the method is feasible and effective in recognizing depth, frequency, rhythm, strength and shape of pulse signals, which can be expected to facilitate the modernization of pulse diagnosis.     

Analysis of “Reading and Writing Book (Book I)” of “21~(st) Century College English”

The quality of course books decides the quality of teaching. It is important to evaluate course books. The author analyzes "Reading and Writing Book" of "21st Century College English" based on the Nuttal’s reading model. Firstly, this model is presented in the open- ing part. Secondly, then the author discusses suitability of the course book from its content variety, authenticity and the training of language skills. Thirdly, how Nuttal’s reading prin- ciples and reading skills are reflected in such book is analyzed. Based on the discussion and analysis, conclusions are drawn that it is suitable for reading instruction; many of the reading principles and reading skills are well embodied and trained in this book. Finally suggestions are presented in the conclusion part. These suggestions include: 1) this book should be adopted more authentic materials such as poems, advertisements, recipes, travel guidebooks and so on; 2) teachers may present and train students’ reading skills systematically; 3) teachers should provide more and better non-linear text, such as col- ored pictures, reference book list, etc.

Multi-attribute decision-making approach dealing with uncertain linguistic assessment information

An approach is presented to deal with a multi-attribute decision-making problem in which the attribute weights are unknown and the attribute values take the form of uncertain linguistic variables. First, a linguistic assessment standard is set up to deal with the uncertain linguistic attributes, and the operation laws of uncertain linguistic variables and the uncertain linguistic weighting average(ULWA)operator are introduced. Then a ranking formula of uncertain linguistic variables based on expectation-variance is proposed. As for the case without weight information, a goal program based on a warp function is constructed to determine the attribute weights, and the ULWA operator is utilized to aggregate the assessment information of uncertain linguistic variables, and the corresponding alternatives are ranked by a formula based on expectation-variance. Finally, a numerical example is given, and the results demonstrate that it is much easier and faster for the ranking method based on expectation-variance when compared to the existing methods.

Failure Process and Energy Transmission for Single-Layer Reticulated Domes Under Impact Loads

No failure, moderate failure, severe failure, and slight failure are the four failure modes generalized observed in the dynamic response of the single-layer reticulated dome under vertical impact load on apex. TE (the time that the end of impact force) and TF (the time that members are broken) are two key times in the failure process. Characteristics of dynamic responses at the two key times are shown in order to make the failure mechanism clear. Then three steps of energy transfer are summarized, i.e. energy applying, energy loss and energy transfer, energy consump-tion. Based on the three steps, energy transfer process for the failure reticulated dome under once impact is introduced. Energy transmissibility and local loss ratio are put forward firstly to obtain EL F(the energy left in the main reticulated dome) from the initial kinetic energy of impactor. More-over, the distribution of failure modes is decided by EL F which leads to the maximum dynamic re-sponse of the reticulated dome, but not by the initial impact kinetic energy of impactor.     

Needs of thermodynamic properties measurements and modeling in the frame of new regulations on refrigerants

In 1987, the Montreal Protocol prohibited the worldwide use and production of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) and hydro fluorocarbons (HFCs) were proposed as alternative refrigerants. Unfortunately, HFCs have non negligible global warning potential and therefore new refrigerants must be proposed or old refrigerants must be used associated with HFC. Accurate experimental thermodynamic data and predictive techniques are required for better under-standing of the performance of the newly proposed refrigerants. In this communication, experimental techniques based on either analytic or synthetic methods are first described. Data are reported. Then two newly developed predictive models based on thermodynamic approach with the isofugacity criterion and artificial neural network method are presented. The results can provide better evaluation of refrigerants, especially with the aim of studying global warning effects.
