Marriage is the main idea of Jane Austen’s novels. The novel reflects the ideal marriage views by describing several different marriages. It reveals a real marriage should be based on love, actual need, morality and equality. It creates a contrast between a successful marriage and an unsuccessful one. Elizabeth and Darcy’s marriage is considered as a successful one. In fact it embodies the author’s own concept of marriage, it is a fault to get married for only money and social status, but it is also foolish without thinking of these factors.  相似文献

An attempt was made to evaluate what is tested and how it is tested in the IELTS academic test from a thinking-based perspective. The analysis framework is an incorporation of Bloom’s taxonomy of educational objectives and Bachman’s classification of language knowledge. The more unambiguous statement of the P versus NP problem and the judgement of its hardness, are the key ways to find the full proof of the P versus NP problem. There are two sub-problems in the P versus NP problem. The first is the classifications of different mathematical problems (languages), and the second is the distinction between a non-deterministic Turing machine (NTM) and a deterministic Turing machine (DTM). The process of an NTM can be a power set of the corresponding DTM, which proves that the states of an NTM can be a power set of the corresponding DTM. If combining this viewpoint with Cantor’s theorem, it is shown that an NTM is not equipotent to a DTM. This means that "generating the power set P(A) of a set A" is a non-canonical example to support that P is not equal to NP.  相似文献

Kate Chopin’s (1899- ) The Awakening gives an account of Edna Pontellie’s awakening in soul and body and sing highly of her courage to pursue freedom and independence. But in a patriarchal society, women can only exist subordinate to men and any woman’s rebellion is to be defeated. Through a detailed analysis of the process of Edna’s awakening, it argues that Edna is not awakened but disillusioned, and she still lives under the heavy patriarchal shackles.  相似文献

Human speech is an extraordinary thing as well as an ordinary thing. It is ordinary because it can be spoken and heard in our daily life;it is extraordinary because no one can get a clear idea of how it is planned and produced. The processes of planning and producing a speech are still amazing and confusing to human beings. It is quite hard to devise experiments to test what is going on concerning the processes.  相似文献

The novel Sons and Lovers, which is Lawrence’s best acclaimed work, is of autobiographic air. It is called the best representation of Sigmund Freud’s "Oedipus Complex"theory by critics, though Lawrence denied having read Freud before writing the novel. However, it can shed new light on the novel when read in a different point of view. Paul’s road to become a real man can not be separated from his mother, Miriam and Clara, who is Paul’s first and second loves respectively. This article will analyze the novel in feminist perspective and concentrate on the three women’s sacrifice to Paul’s growth in a man-centered society, in hope of better understanding the intension of the novel.  相似文献

Hemingway established a well-known literary theory - iceberg principle. He said he always attempted to create his literary works according to this principle. In his opinion,if a prose writer has a pretty clear idea of what he writes about, then he can omit the things he knows, and the readers will strongly feel that what the writer has omitted seems to have been written as long as what he writes is authentic.Hemingway himself once said,"The dignity of movement of an iceberg is due to only one eighth of it being above water."Here, one eighth refers to the information given by the author, and the rest refers to the unwrit ten information that can be acquired in readers’imagination on the basis of the one eighth. The Killers is a good example of Hemingway’s iceberg principle. This essay will analyse the characters in it to show how the principle was used in this short story. With no doubt the iceberg principle leaves a large space for the readers to imagine and better understand Hemingway’s works.  相似文献

A new type jet, the oscillating & deflecting jet, is put forward and its oscillating and deflecting characteristics are investigated. The nozzle of the self-oscillating & deflecting water jet consists of an upstream nozzle, a downstream nozzle, an oscillating chamber and two switches. It is experimentally shown that the deflective angle may reach 9.53 degree. The generated pressure fluctuation is very regular and the jet can efficiently increase the ability for breaking and cutting by eliminating the water cushion effect associated with a continuous jet.  相似文献
