新农村小学阅读文化建设策略研究

学校文化是一所学校得以持久发展的关键,是学校发展的灵魂。把阅读作为文化建设的抓手,形成营造氛围、设置课程、编写读本、制定书目等多项阅读文化建设策略,能有效提升师生的价值品位及精神需求,促进学校文化内涵的发展。     

新加坡对儒家文化传统价值观的倡导

在社会治理方面,新加坡政府希望建立一个民风纯正、高度文明的＂优雅社会＂。儒家文化所倡导的道德修养、艺术修养与精神追求,对新加坡的社会治理有着正面的促进作用,是新加坡实现社会安定、天下太平的重要因素。     

Promise for Enhancing Children's Reading Attitudes Through Peer Reading: A Mixed Method Approach

ABSTRACT

Peer-Assisted Learning Strategies (PALS) was implemented for supplementary reading classes in a Korean elementary school. The treatment group children were exposed to PALS during 20 min sessions, 4 times a week, for 8 weeks. The impacts of PALS were investigated in 3 aspects using a mixed-methods approach: improvement in reading attitudes, reading skills, and student perceptions of the intervention. Data collection includes reading attitude measures, standardized reading comprehension test scores, student satisfaction survey, student interviews, and student journals. The PALS group students showed significantly enhanced reading attitudes and reading skills. Consistently, qualitative data analysis also revealed affirmative influence of PALS on students’ attitudes toward reading. Finally, the findings also suggested social benefits of PALS including developing cooperative skills and friendships.     

Children Reading Series Books: Ways into Peer Culture and Reading Development

This article, drawing on research which aimed to explore how young children read English in Singapore, demonstrates how nine-year-old Singaporean children’s voluntary reading of series books served the dual purposes of enabling their membership of the peer group through culturated reading and the independent development of their reading skills and motivation for reading. Using interviews to encourage conversation and reflection, the research examined children’s book choices and their reasons for reading. This formed part of a topic-focussed ethnographic study in three primary schools. In addition, the article seeks to prove that Singaporean children’s choice of series books makes them readers with potential for global, intra-generational, cultural connections rather than familial, inter-generational ones, and it is especially significant educationally for less well-off families where English is not the dominant home language.     

Levelling the reading gap: a socio‐spatial study of school libraries and reading in Singapore

This article takes a comparative socio‐spatial approach at the intersection of social class and reading politics to provide a fresh way of examining school reading policies and practices, unearthing previously hidden spaces of inequity for reading intervention. The juxtaposition of two nested case studies in Singapore, one of an elite all‐boys' school and another of a co‐educational government school with students in different academic tracks, revealed inequitable practices, specifically in the designs and uses of school library spaces between schools serving different social classes. The study argues that attempts to design reading interventions should move away from the view of student‐as‐problem to structure‐as‐problem in order to discover new perspectives for reading intervention. Additionally, this study demonstrates how foregrounding social class in educational research is necessary for effective design of educational strategies that aim to transform education and society by narrowing the gap between students from different social classes.     

论近代英国阅读文化的发展

中世纪早期,英国的阅读文化和其他文化现象一样受到宗教文化的制约而发展缓慢,但到中世纪晚期时,随着文艺复兴和宗教改革运动在英国的兴起,阅读文化凭借着民族语言——英语的普遍运用而得到较快地发展。阅读文化的发展促进着思想和知识的传播,提高了民众的文化素养,有利于加强文化联系而塑造共同的文化心理,也推动了近代民族国家形成和发展的进程。阅读文化的发展也推动了图书出版制度的变革,而图书出版制度的变革又进一步解放了阅读文化,使阅读文化逐步走向繁荣。阅读文化的发展对于知识的传播、思想的培育、道德的培养、技术的传承和整个社会精神面貌的塑造都有着非常重要的意义,而所有这些都汇聚成文化的力量推动着英国近代社会的发展进步与国家的崛起。     

Reading Within Families: Taking a Historical Perspective

This article draws on a study which was designed to extend understanding of habitual and committed adolescent readers. The study brought together four theoretical perspectives – the social, cultural, spatial and historical – as a way of re-imagining the field of reading. The historical perspective is the one foregrounded here, offering views of reading as a long-term, intergenerational process, in this instance constructed through setting adults’ comments about reading alongside those of their children or grandchildren. Analysis of data from two of the research methods employed in the study – semi-structured small-group interviews and interviews conducted by the students themselves with a parent or grandparent – suggests that there is a strong argument to be made for attending more closely to adolescent readers from a historical perspective, as well as from social, cultural and spatial perspectives, in order to understand better some of their subtle characteristics as they shift over time rather than as they appear when viewed merely in the here-and-now.     

Using Culture Penetration and Culture Aside in Teaching Culture in College English Intensive Reading Course

Teaching culture is an indispensable part of English teaching.Teachers should teach western cultures along with teaching linguistic knowledge itself.In college English intensive reading class due to heavy workload,tight schedule and large classes,culture teaching,to certain degree.,seems hard to be realized.In this article,the authors introduce two practical,flexible and user-friendly methods: culture penetration and culture aside which can help teachers to teach culture in intensive reading class so that to improve students’ intercultural awareness and competence.

Sponsors of Pleasure: Wide Reading Re-imagined Through Social Curation

This article moves beyond book-based school ‘wide reading’ to propose constellations of multimodal media, including music videos, fashion parades, literary works, online games and material artefacts, along with associated pedagogies, as sponsors of pleasure. The article, based on empirical research with teachers in an Australian secondary school, proposes how the pleasure teachers experience in textual curation and research during curriculum planning might inform understandings of what reading might be for students. The author also considers the barriers to recognising diverse texts as having merit for study. Featuring Mattel’s Barbie, Kanye West and Andy Warhol, the article demonstrates how curation can inspire a vibrant reading fan culture and asks how teachers and students can negotiate or co-design ‘reading for pleasure’ curricula that make meaningful use of learner desires to seek collaboratively and collate creatively traces of meaning across media. Reading is an inevitable, spontaneous and enjoyable aspect of these practices.

文化管理是学校管理一种境界,其达成可以有多种策略取向,只有通过科学的、明确的文化路径引领才能使学校管理从传承走向规范、走向高效、走向创新。本文结题省教育科学“十一五”规划重点课题的研究,从精神引领、环境熏陶、制度规范、课程渗透、活动濡染等方面阐述了学校文化管理的策略取向。     

Popular Culture and Sophisticated Reading: Men in Black

Young people learn about processing texts in different media from popular culture. Films are released accompanied by a huge variety of back-up and satellite texts. This article explores a set of associated texts linked with the film Men in Black. Different materials offer varying reading invitations. A schema of such reading invitations, developed from the Men in Black texts, involves seven categories: immersion, recapitulation, second-level engagement, technical analysis, commentary, spin-off, and parody.

PIRLS评价内容及其对小学阅读课程变革的启示

PIRLS(国际阅读素养进展研究)是由国际教育成就评价协会(IEA)主持的评价项目,计划五年一轮进行世界范围的四年级学生阅读素养发展趋势研究.PIRLS评价内容聚焦“学生阅读素养”测评和“阅读学习环境”调查两个方面,前者包括阅读目的、理解过程、阅读行为与态度的测评,后者涉及国家、社会、家庭、学校、教室以及学生特点等因素的调查.PIRLS评价内容对我国小学语文阅读课程变革具有积极的启示:小学语文应建构均衡化的阅读课程组织、研制明确而具体的阅读教学内容、营造具有联动性的阅读课程环境.     

英语文化教学TEACH模式建构研究

基于阅读体验学习论,建构英语文化教学TEACH模式。TEACH模式由tex(t文本选择)、experience(体验学习)、awareness(文化意识)、comparison(文化比较)、harmony("和而不同"的文化思维)5个环节构成。这5个环节依次进行,循环发展,逐渐提高。该模式旨在阐释英语文化教学思路,如选择较为完整、系统的文史哲文本,通过文本阅读体验,提高外语学习主动性,在文化比较学习中修正、完善文化理解,形成文化思辨能力,从而在文化大观中具备"和而不同"的文化观念,提高文化素养。     

高校图书馆在创建校园阅读文化中的作用

校园文化是以学生为主体,以校园为主要空间,以育人为主要导向,以精神文化、环境文化、行为文化和制度文化建设等为主要内容,以校园精神、文明为主要特征的一种群体文化。简要论述了校园文化的现状及阅读文化与其的关系,分析了高校图书馆在创建校园阅读文化中的优势与作用,并提出了阅读文化建设的几项具体措施。
