浅谈我国图书馆员的继续教育

本文从分析我图书馆员的素质现状出发,指出对其进行继续教育的必要性,并且针对图书馆员所应具备的素质,提出继续教育的内容和途径。

图书馆员继续教育是个人进步和组织发展的要求 ,继续教育必须以图书馆的工作实际和发展趋势为根本 ,而继续教育的实施和发展必须依靠有效的措施作保障。     

Catalogers’ Perceptions and Use of Social Media and Conventional Information Sources for Professional Development

Many professional development information sources are available to catalogers, who may be constrained by limited time and money to devote to them. This article reports the results of a survey gathering information on six types of information sources: journal articles, conferences, electronic discussion lists, blogs, microblogs, and social networking sites. Catalogers rated these resources regarding their importance to filling professional development needs, the reliability of the information disseminated, and their usefulness for obtaining specific types of information. The results should help catalogers and their administrators decide where to focus their attention both as consumers and disseminators of continuing education information.

在西方人文主义理念下,读者工作应了解每位读者不同的个体需求并通过馆员的优质服务使之得到满足,而在中国人文传统理念下,读者工作则应努力创建馆员之间、馆员与读者之间的互爱互信互尊互谅。图书馆读者工作应将东西方人文传统融会贯通,在更高的层面上体现人文精神。     

Library and Information Science Education in Uzbekistan

This article examines the historical development and current state of professional librarian training in Uzbekistan. It aims to determine the main challenges that face LIS education in that country. The article begins with a brief literature review and some historical background on library education in Uzbekistan prior to the dissolution of the Soviet Union. It then describes the educational activities of the Department of Library-Information Systems at Tashkent University of Information Technologies, which is the only institution in Uzbekistan currently offering graduate degrees in librarianship.

浅论经济全球化客观冲突

经济全球化使生产力、生产关系在时间与空间上得以全球维度的扩展,但它为世界经济发展注入活力的同时,客观上也存在着冲突,在旧的世界经济秩序的尚未完全改革时已显现全球分裂化的倾向。本文试图从探求解决冲突的途径出发,提出宏观的战略思想。     

Promoting the Development of Online Learning Communities for Library Professional Organizations

ABSTRACT

This paper discusses the use of online learning communities for library professional organizations to promote collaboration and learning. The addition of an online learning community component to a library organization expands collaborative and educational opportunities for members through a virtual environment. Although technologies used to support learning communities vary, standard features include a discussion forum, file-sharing capability, and chat functionality. More sophisticated sites provide Webcasts, podcasts, online courses, and databases. Moreover, the availability of file sharing and chat supports virtual meetings. Studies of library-oriented learning communities illustrate their effectiveness in using discussion forums and resources to foster collaboration and learning opportunities among members. This research also notes the role of discussion forums in decreasing feelings of isolation among users. Moreover, these articles highlight the member's participation in library learning communities through postings to discussion forums, selecting learning events, and contributing materials. The first step in creating a learning community centers on the administration of a needs assessment to the members. These evaluations identify the goals of the learning community and aid in the selection of appropriate technologies. In addition, learning community organizers need to develop an action plan that outlines a timeline for the project's implementation. Moreover, organizers should consider providing incentives and training to members to enhance their participation in the project. Finally, promotional and evaluation efforts are needed to sustain the growth of a learning community.     

论中专图书馆的建设现状与发展对策

中专图书馆的建设与发展，无论在理论上还是实践中，均未得到足够重视，文章阐述了中专图书馆建设滞后的现状并指出其成因，同时提出了发展对策，以期得到同行的共鸣和专家的指正。     

图书馆员职业化建设新思考:内涵、困境及其路径

图书馆员职业化是图书馆行业获得持续、稳定发展并实行标准化管理的基本前提。由于种种原因,我国图书馆员职业化建设还刚刚起步,有必要从我国的实情出发,明确我国图书馆员职业化的科学内涵,分析推进此项工作可能遇到的困境,寻找到可行的路径。
