Designing for Quality: Distance Education Rubrics for Online MSW Programs

ABSTRACT

There has been a rapid increase in the number of online MSW programs in the past decade without a commensurate body of literature on their administration. This article acquaints MSW program faculty and administrators with quality assurance rubrics, which are research-informed tools intended for use by distance education providers to develop, support and manage high quality online courses and programs. Graduate programs that are in the process of considering or actually designing an online delivery option, as well as those that are currently implementing online programs, may benefit from the use of such quality assurance rubrics.     

国内外在线学历学位教育的发展

2012年以来,以慕课为代表的全球在线教育蓬勃兴起。Coursera、edX等国际知名在线教育平台对在线学历学位教育进行了一系列实践,引领了全球在线学历学位教育的新潮流。国内以清华大学发起的"学堂在线"为依托,在在线认证证书项目和同等学力申请硕士项目等方面做了一些探索,但与国外在线学历学位项目相比仍然存在较大差距。文章梳理了全球在线教育的发展概况,分别介绍了国外、国内在线学历学位教育的发展现状,并分析了国外在线学历学位教育对我国的启示,以期促进国内在线学历学位教育的健康、可持续发展。     

Teaching MSW Social Work Practice in a Blended Online Learning Environment

Blended learning is a newly emerging trend in higher education and is defined as the purposeful integration of synchronous and asynchronous learning to provide educational activities that maximize the benefits of each. This paper describes the development of a graduate social work foundation-year practice class in a blended online environment in which both asynchronous and synchronous activities transpire online. The course's underlying pedagogical principles are illustrated, and the perceptions of instructional faculty are reported in key areas, including engagement and participation, activities, and the challenges of technology, socialization, etiquette, and nonverbal cues.     

Developing and Supporting Faculty Training for Online Social Work Education: The Columbia University School of Social Work Online Pedagogy Institute

ABSTRACT

With the growth of online and distance education in social work, faculty training and support need to be provided to ensure high-quality online social work education. A model for training social work educators in online teaching is outlined that focuses on pedagogy, technology, and social work values. Columbia University School of Social Work’s Online Campus provides a five-week Institute on Pedagogy and Technology for Online Courses for prospective social work instructors. The Institute provides a faculty training model that can be adopted in other social work programs, and seeks to model best practices in online education.

用数据说话,基于数据开展教学决策对于在线教育领域尤其需要。在线教育领域管理者基于平台数据了解实情,做出决策,将是日常工作的重要组成部分。该文通过梳理学习分析相关研究,并结合教学管理者的实际需要,提出了＂在线教学绩效评估模式＂,并选取基于Moodle平台开展的纯在线培训日志数据为样本开展模式应用,验证了在线教学绩效评估模式的有效性。

我国网络购物的迅速升温促进了快递业的迅猛发展,随之各种有关快递的投诉量也直线上升。我国快递业顾客满意度不高的主要原因为快件延误、快件丢失、短少或损毁、索赔难和快递人员专业素质与服务态度较差。快递企业应当加强信息化建设和企业整合,实行包装分类并加强监管,建立快件到达时间分类机制以及加强快递业员工培训等改进措施提高顾客满意度。     

Distance Guest Speakers in Online Synchronous Classrooms: Practical and Legal Considerations

Social work students increasingly are served by distance education, which necessitates the use of creative and innovative online teaching methods. An instructor embarking upon online teaching should consider interpersonal and technical issues, be familiar with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, and understand other legal implications related to recording a guest speaker. This paper offers an illustrative example and recommendations regarding the use of guest speakers who visit from a distance in a synchronous classroom.

经过多年的不断发展,美国网络高等教育已走在了世界前列.文章以图表描述和分析美国高等教育第十次年度报告主要内容的基础上,探讨了其中存在的师生接受度低、质量成本控制难、辍学率高与社会认可低等多方面的问题,最后针对我国网络高等教育的未来发展提出开放学分认可、加强质量监控、推广成果应用等三个方面的启示.     

如何开展在线课后服务？——基于美国校外在线教育项目助力学校教育的百年省思

美国校外在线教育项目已历时百年,建立专门的机构,明确与学校教育之间的关系,积极与学校开展广泛合作,逐渐使校外美国在线教育项目积攒了极高声誉。当前,加强有效在线课后服务路径的规律研究是“双减”改革的题中应有之义。我国应正确厘定线上课后服务与线下课后服务之间的关系,秉承学生准入门槛、关注重点人群以及双线融合兼顾的行动依据,构建理性化与标准化的支持保障制度,推动在线课后服务体验进一步优化。

本文在系统分析成人学位英语网上报名系统功能性需求和非功能性需求的基础上,采用基于B/S的软件系统体系结构搭建网上报名系统.在系统功能实现中,按照考生管理、考点管理和考试中心管理三个模块,详细论述了逻辑流程和算法,对包括考生报名及信息管理、考点和考试中心管理以及数据的分析统计等功能进行了软件实现.     

探究网络远程教育中学习支持服务的构建

现代远程教育已经进入第三代网络远程教育阶段,学习支持服务是网络远程教育成功与否的关键。结合江苏开放大学的实际情况,构建第三代网络远程教育学习支持服务体系,包括三个阶段：学前、学中与学后,涵盖七个方面：课程选择、学〉--j时间管理、学习动机激励、网上交流合作、网上学习方式、作业和考试、跟踪回访和职业生涯。     

Service Learning as a Mechanism for Change in Attitudes and Perceptions of Human Services Students Toward Substance-Dependent Mothers

The purpose of the study was to explore the potential effectiveness of service learning as a pedagogical technique for providing substance abuse education to human services/social work students. Using a quasi-experimental design, the authors assigned 38 human services undergraduate students to experimental and comparison groups on the basis of their availability to attend a service-learning project in substance abuse. The service learning consisted of a 30-min educational presentation followed by a visit to a residential substance abuse treatment facility for women. Results indicated that service learning in substance abuse had a positive effect on the general knowledge, perceptions, and attitudes of human services students toward substance-dependent mothers and their children. The findings from this exploratory study support future research in this area.     

在职教师网上学习困难之调查报告

网上学习为在职教师提供了一种灵活的进修机会,促进了教师终身学习的发展。然而,通过几年的实践,学员们在这一新的学习模式下会产生哪些困难呢?本研究以华东师范大学网络教育学院在职进修教师为样本,采用网上问卷调查的方法,旨在探讨在职教师网上学习的主要困难及影响因素。本研究收回的有效问卷为196份。研究发现,教师网上学习的困难包括基础设施条件、操作技能、资源,以及个人等方面,影响网上学习主要因素包括网上教师水平、网上学习环境、网上学习支持等等。根据在职教师网上学习困难的综合分析,作者提出了一系列改进网络教学的策略性建议,可供网上教学工作者参考。     

学习风格对在线学习交互程度影响的实验研究

交互是在线学习的灵魂,在线学习交互程度包含交互频度和交互深度两个方面。学习风格的差异是否会影响学习者的在线学习交互程度及其学习结果,已经成为在线学习交互研究领域的热点问题。本研究首先通过理论分析提出假设:学习风格会影响在线学习交互程度及学习效果,然后通过实验研究验证假设。研究根据Kolb的学习风格分类模型对被试对象进行分类,并使用QQ群作为交互工具,对一段时间内的教学实验数据进行分析。参与交互的频度以学习者在QQ群中的发言数量(条数)来考察,并使用内容分析法将学习者的发言内容划分为简单分析类、分享资源类、探讨问题类以及情感交流类等四种类型;以学习者发布探讨问题类发言的数量来衡量其参与交互的深度,并运用方差分析法对实验结果进行验证。本研究得出以下结论:学习风格直接影响在线学习交互的频度和深度;学习风格对学习绩效并没有造成直接的影响;交互的频度对学习绩效的影响也不显著,交互深度对学习绩效的影响非常明显。基于此结论,参与在线学习的教师应该关注学习者的学习风格差异,改变交互方式和交互策略,从而改进在线学习者的交互绩效。

试点高校网络学历教育教学管理现状调查及分析

经过十年发展,试点高校网络学历教育(简称网络教育)学生规模足以支撑网络教育机构的正常运转,但质量和声誉仍有待提高,影响教学质量的重要因素之一是教学管理水平。本研究的目的是调查试点高校网络学历教育教学管理现状,分析问题,提出对策和分析。研究主要采用了文献研究、专家会议、实地调研、个别化访谈与数据文件处理等定量与定性相结合的方法,从69所试点高校中抽样选取了16个网络教育机构,进行实地调研,研究历时半年。本文包括五个部分:一、研究背景和调研目的;二、研究方法和研究过程;三、试点高校网络学历教育教学管理现状;四、试点高校网络学历教育教学管理的主要问题;五、加强试点高校网络学历教育教学管理的思路和建议。作者希望本文能够帮助读者全面了解试点高校网络学历教育的现状和未来改进的方向。     

A Discourse Analysis of Online Dialogs in Social Work Diversity Courses

Abstract

Online discussions can extend learning experiences beyond the time and space of the classroom, allowing students more time to process information, and an additional mode of expression for those who are less active in open classroom discussions. They may be especially appropriate for teaching sensitive or controversial subject matter such as oppression and diversity, which is required by the Council on Social Work Education. This study investigated topical themes, depth, and tone of online dialogs in social work diversity courses at two universities in the mid-Atlantic area. Discourse analysis-a type of content analysis-is employed to gain a deeper understanding of the learning experience, and to compare the impact of anonymous and identified participation in the dialogs.
