Marxism： A Developing Theory ZHAO Jia xiang（5） A historic study of the changes of Marx and Engels＇s views about capitalist principles, about the Russian socialist path and about human nature suggests that Marxism as a whole and all of its funda mental concepts and principles are never fixed and constant, but are doomed to develop with the change of time, progress of practice and advancement of science. An awareness of this change is bene ficial in the sense that since Marxism is under development, we should hold a developmental and open attitude towards it. In the teaching and research of Marxism we are to integrate the Marxist history, theories and edited works into a whole and compile a series of special histories of Marxism and readers guide to the Marxist classics.

"Bill’s Little Girl " is a prose. This article analysis’s its stylistic features of language in the aspects of lexical. While analysis, we can further appreciate its plain and simple language, its natural and fluent manner of writing and its complete discourse, meanwhile we can deeply understand that love is great, father’s love is great.     

Vanishing torsion of parametric curves

We consider the class of parametric curves that can be represented by combination of control points and basis func- tions. A control point is let vary while the rest is held fixed. It’s shown that the locus of the moving control point that yields points of zero torsion is the osculating plane of the corresponding discriminant curve at its point of the same parameter value. The special case is studied when the basis functions sum to one.     

Corpus-based Analysis on Anti-Semitism in Shakespeare’s Works

Thousands of years ago,the Jews were forced to leave their homeland and began to live an exiled life and gradually melted into other neighboring peoples.However,they were not welcomed by others.For thousands of years,Jews’ "Bible" has become a source of literary and artistic creation,but the image of Jews were excluded from the literary and artistic creation,even if there were some occasions,they were but described as autistic Misers or loan shark.Shakespeare is one of the most outstanding writers;he described many people from all walks of life in his works,the Jews,also included.Based on the corpus of Shakespeare’s works,we can see that most adjectives used by Shakespeare to modify the word "Jew"are derogative words.Therefore,we can prove that anti-Semitism does exist in Shakespeare’s works.

An Analysis of Chinese and English Netspeak Words

In the new era of 21st century,with the development of science and economy,internet has great impact on people’s life.We can find that netspeak words come out thick and fast,however,netspeak words’generation has unique forms of word formation and special social-cultural backgrounds.This thesis discusses the background and constitution of English and Chinese netspeak words from the perspective of conceptual blending theory.It introduces the background mainly from the following aspects:society,culture and life.The major emphasis of this thesis lies in the word formation of English and Chinese netspeak words and the similarities between them.Through the analysis,we can see that there are many similarities between English and Chinese netspeak words:both of them are open and free on word formation,and both pursue convenience and efficiency.

Aesthetic Processing for Theatre Translation

Theatre translation is one of the most neglected areas in the field of translation.Theatre is a special member of the literature family in that it doubles as a branch of the performing art.It follows that the aesthetic constitutions of a dramatic creation is a complex problem. It is the translator’s duty to grasp the artistic features of the literary creation and reproduce them in the version since the most important thing in a piece of literature is its artistic features.     

Formation of Los Angeles’s low density and high car dependence

As a typical car-dependent city, Los Angeles (LA) is extensively used as an example in research to illustrate car influences on city form. Focusing on the features of LA’s geologic conditions and civil circumstances, we argued that the relationship between LA’s low-density pattern and car dependence is more involved than previously deemed simple causality. The low density should be primarily credited to the spacious requirement of the mining industry, frequent earthquakes and multiethnic population of the city. Oil reserves in LA fueled its economic boom and fast urbanization that coincided with the start of mass production of cheap cars, and cars became medium-priced consumables for average families. Politicians preference for short construction-period projects enabled fast establishment of LA’s highway infrastructure. The popularity of car use in return faciliatated further development of the low-density pattern of the city. The low-density urban form and car dependence created environmental and social problems for LA. Looking at P. R. China’s motorization and urban development, we found that the trajectory of Beijing’s motorization between 1978 and 2003 coincides with that of the U.S. in the 1910s and 1920s. Lessons from LA’s urban and transportation development should be suggestive to China’s urban and transportation planning.

I was a single parent of four small children. Money was always tight, but we had a roof over our heads, food on the table, clothes on our backs, and if not a lot, always enough. My kids told me that in those days they didn＇t know we were poor. They just thought Morn was cheap I＇ve always been glad about that. it was Christmas time, and although tilere wasn＇t money for a lot of gifts, we planned to celebrate with church and family, parties and friends, drive downtown to see the Christmas lights, special dinners, and celebrate by decorating our home. But the big excitement for the kids was the fun of Christmas shopping at the mall. They talked and planned for weeks ahead of time, asking each other and their grandparents what they wanted for Christmas. I dreaded it. I had saved S120 for presents. A Note on Vulnerability in Graphs of Diameter Five （ Ⅱ ）

The line persistence of a graph G, Pt （ G ） is the minimum number of lines which must be removed to increase the diameter of G. In Ref. [7] （J. Shanghai Univ., 2003,7（4）：352-357）, we gave a characterization of graphs of diameter five with ρ1 （ G ）≥2. In this paper we will show that each of the 8 special graphs Xi （ i = 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8） listed in condition （2） of Theorem 1 in Ref. [7] can not be deleted. Therefore the results we obtained in Ref. [7] can not in general be improved.     

Buckling Analysis of Thin-Walled Tubes Composed of Plastoelastic/Viscoelastic Materials under Inflation

It has been shown that thin-walled hyperelastic tubes could bulge under inflation. In this paper we investigate the possibility of bulging for thin-walled tubes composed of plastoelastic/viscoelastic materials. A general bifurcation condition is derived by near-critical post-bifurcation analysis, which can degenerate into an existing special one for hyperelastic tubes. It is demonstrated that the linearly elastic and plastoelastic tubes can bulge under inflation, but viscoelastic tubes cannot bulge unless the value of inflating pressure is just equal to the one of the critical pressure for the corresponding elastic tubes.     

On Application of Nida’s Translation Priorities

This paper analyzes Nida’s theory of translation,also his system of priorities.The paper uses examples to illustrate the application of Nida’s four priorities in the practice of English-Chinese and Chinese-English translation and concludes that we can apply the system to help the receptors of second language and source language to have the closest response.     

On Subtitle Translation of Sitcoms——A Case Study of The Big Bang Theory

As we all know that exquisite subtitle translation of foreign film and television series is the fatal elements for them to spread among Chinese audiences. This article is based on Eugene·Nida’s"the Functional Equivalence"principle with three char acteristics of sitcoms’subtitle to study the type, form and features of the Big Bang Theory, which lead to the conclusion of sitcom subtitle’s characteristics. It helps us to analyze its subtitle from six aspects. As the result, the author of the paper makes the conclusion of translation tactic about Big Bang Theory, which could help the subtitle translation of similar sitcoms.     

The Awakening of Self-consciousness of the African American Women—an Analysis of Dee in Everyday Use

Alice Walker is one of the prominent American writers in American women’s literature and black literature in 1950s-1960s. Everyday Use is regarded as Alice Walker’s best-written short story. The prevailing opinion among the critics about this story is that Dee is the traitor of black American’s cultural heritage, and the mother and Maggie are the hope of true value of the African Americans’ tradition and heritage; however, after considering the historical and cultural background of the story, we may safely come to the conclusion that Dee actually took the first step toward the awakening of self-consciousness of the African Americans women.
