道家指的是以老子思想为宗脉的学术派别的总称.作为中国第一位哲学家,老子对后世具有深远的影响,而其思想的核心即"道".老子思想,有其独特的方法论,印"有物混成,先天地生","有无相生","道常无为而无不为".老子的哲学方法是一种负的方法.老聃、柏矩、阳子居、关尹、列御寇、杨朱等是老子的主要的弟子.杨朱是从老子到庄子思想演变过程中的重要一环.庄子是道家的另一重要学派.其维系了老聃的正统.庄子思想即是以人生哲学为中心的.其哲学思想主要表现在<庄子·内篇·逍遥游篇>、<齐物论>中.庄子后学,可分为述庄派、无君派、黄老派三大派.述庄派以继承阐发庄子思想为宗旨.无君派对庄子思想有重要的改造.黄老派的思想特点与庄子也相去较远.
