以汉语为母语的英语学习者在口语中常误用he和she,对此现象,可以从基本层次范畴的角度予以分析。导致这一误用的原因在于汉语口语和英语口语在单数第三人称代词的使用上具有不同的基本层次范畴,并且中文思维和英文表达之间的转换是导致he/she误用的根本原因。分析影响二者选择的因素并提出相应的对策,将有助于减少错误的发生。  相似文献

现代英语人称代词系统缺少第三人称代词单数阴阳性通指词。传统英语语法学者们曾在18世纪末建议使用he作为第三人称单数阴阳性通指词,他们也做了很大努力,但he至今未被英语使用者广泛接受,本文探讨了其中的原因。现代英语语法学者们试图找到一种替代形式,他们提出的建议有:使用he or she的合成形式;使用he和she的缩合形式,如s/he,(s)he;从英语方言或其他语言中借用;单数的they等。本文分析了这些临时性替代用法的优缺点,预测最有可能弥补这个缺位的可行性词语是they,并提出了这种预测的依据。本文最后提出了在目前英语学习和使用方面如何避免第三人称代词单数阴阳性通指词使用偏误的建议。  相似文献
