对福建六所高校图书馆员的问卷调查结果显示:图书馆员的职业承诺与离职意愿和离单位意愿呈显著负相关.规范承诺与离单位意愿呈显著负相关,与离职意愿无关;继续承诺与离职呈显著负相关,与离单位意愿无关;情感承诺与离单位和离职意愿均呈显著负相关.工作满意度与是否愿意继续留职工作呈负相关.  相似文献

通过对166位图书馆员的问卷调查,探究图书馆员情绪劳动及其工作满意度、工作倦怠三者之间的关系。研究发现图书馆员情绪劳动现象确实存在,但其工作满意度较高,工作倦怠行为只发生在个人成就感降低的维度中。情绪劳动中的表面行为维度与工作倦怠中的情绪耗竭维度呈正相关关系;情绪劳动中的深度行为维度与工作满意度呈正相关关系;情绪劳动中的深度行为维度与工作倦怠中的情绪耗竭维度和人格解体维度呈负相关关系;情绪劳动中的深度行为维度与工作倦怠中的个人成就感降低维度呈正相关关系。  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The George A. Smathers Libraries of the University of Florida is currently undergoing a major renovation. Library West, the building that houses the humanities and social sciences collection, will be gutted and expanded. The collection will be moved to off-site storage and the staff will be relocated for a two-year period. The reality of these changes has created a feeling of anxiety and uncertainty, especially in the Access Services Department. FISH is a customer service tool that has been adopted by the UF Libraries because it ensures a positive attitude for staff in their daily work. A FISH committee is in place and many morale-boosting activities have been scheduled. The FISH committee will be challenged during the next two years to meet the morale needs of the staff.  相似文献

Using validated and reliable psychometric instruments, 87 non-manager library employees were surveyed to determine the nature of the relationships between non-manager perceptions of authenticity and trust in two levels of leadership with self-rated engagement. The results provide insights about how non-managers perceive authenticity and trust in both direct managers and senior supervisors, and how those perceptions are related to self-ascribed employee engagement. While perceptions of trust and authenticity accounted for some of the variance found, undetermined variables may explain more of the variance in employee engagement. Recommendations for developing authentic leaders and engaging employees in a library setting are offered.  相似文献

[目的/意义]探究高校图书馆员情绪劳动与工作满意之间的关系模式,以期为高校图书馆工作规划和实施人力资源管理提供参考。[方法/过程]通过理论分析和结构方程模型分析,探讨浅层扮演、深层扮演和中性调节3种情绪劳动策略对工作内在满意与外在满意的影响及作用机制。[结果/结论]研究结果显示:高校图书馆员采取浅层扮演策略对其内在、外在工作满意有显著负向影响,采取深层扮演策略和中性调节策略则对其工作内在满意有显著正向影响,而与其工作外在满意之间关系不明显。  相似文献

Abstract

This study examined staff motivation, satisfaction, and job performance among the librarians and library staff in six selected university libraries in Nigeria. The target population for the study includes the professionals and nonprofessional library staff. A total enumeration sampling technique was used to select 180 respondents, which represent the sample for the study. Data was collected using a self-designed questionnaire titled “Staff Motivation, Satisfaction and Job Performance Questionnaire” (SMSJPQ). Six research questions were developed and answered by the study. The results indicate that librarian and library staff are highly motivated with regular pay while the least motivational factor is frequent interaction with their friends. Library staff are primarily satisfied with their jobs when they are in constant link with their friends. Professional library staff significantly experience better work motivation than their nonprofessional counterparts. Significant correlation exists between staff motivation and job performance and between job satisfaction and job performance. In addition, the two factors (motivation and satisfaction) exert significant contribution to the determinant of librarians and library staff job performance. Based on the findings, the study recommended improvement in the level of motivation of nonprofessionals so that the significant difference with the professional counterpart would not be so much pronounced.  相似文献

Innovation is a much-touted concept in the business world. Libraries, too, have felt the need for continuous innovation as we serve ever-changing needs. Leaders can use principles practiced in business to transform academic libraries into cultures of innovation. In a culture of innovation, employees are engaged in their work and excited about the possibilities of it. Leaders help cultivate creativity by promoting growth mind-sets, rewarding experimentation, and practicing discovery skills. ABSTRACT

Advertisements for public library directors can reflect the evolution of the public library environment as libraries adapt to changes related to funding and technology. No study has examined whether the skills and attributes desired of public library directors have changed over time and whether they are associated with the characteristics of management or leadership. Content analysis of public library director job advertisements from 2000–2011 revealed a closer association with management than leadership traits and an omission of characteristics like advocating, fundraising, being politically savvy, and having a vision needed to position the public library as an essential resource to stakeholders.  相似文献

This article provides examples of event planning and programming provided for youth groups (middle school or high school students), and it offers tips to giving younger students a hands-on, educational, and entertaining academic library experience. This study examined 393 organizational members' reported communication load, job satisfaction, and interdepartmental communication satisfaction in relation to their experience of time along eleven dimensions—flexibility, linearity, pace, punctuality, delay, scheduling, separation, urgency, scarcity, and future and present time foci. Results indicate that organizational members who experienced their time as more delayed, more flexible, and more oriented toward the future tended to report higher levels of communication load. Additionally, members who characterized their work as more punctual and oriented toward the future were more satisfied with their jobs, while those who experienced work as faster paced were less satisfied. Finally, the organizational members most satisfied with communication among departments reported their work patterns as more linear and more strongly oriented toward the future, while members who reported their work as more delayed were least satisfied with such interdepartmental interactions.  相似文献

采用问卷调查的方法对唐山地区的236名图书馆员的工作倦怠现况进行实证研究,分析相关人口统计学因素对馆员工作倦怠的影响。研究结果显示,唐山地区高校和公共图书馆员工作倦怠整体程度不高;年龄、学历、馆型和工作部门等因素对图书馆员的工作倦怠水平有一定影响。  相似文献

Social networks such as Facebook allow libraries to be proactive in reaching their users. While some libraries have popular Facebook pages, it remains unclear what attracts users to these pages. This study evaluates relationships between libraries’ Facebook page content and popularity. An analysis of 72 academic health sciences libraries’ Facebook pages showed positive correlations between number of library fans and number of tabs, photos, events, and wall posts on Facebook. Libraries posting videos had significantly more fans than libraries without them. This study contributes to an understanding of correlations between content and popularity on Facebook, with implications for library outreach.  相似文献
