An analysis of guidelines for expert reviewers

Forty eight sets of recommendations identified by their authors as practical heuristics for the evaluation and revision of instructional materials were reviewed and consolidated. These guidelines were extracted from professional journals, book chapters and independent publications. Initially, all items were compiled, and then sorted into three categories according to their specific focus: content (subject matter), design, and presentation. In a second sort, identical items were eliminated and semantically equivalent items were grouped together. Three independent judges performed the same tasks for reliability. The outcome is a comprehensive list of 67 items, representing all of the reviewed guidelines. This instrument could be a successful aid in identifying deficiencies of instructional materials in the areas of content, design and presentation.

对湖州市人口、经济、医疗保健需求等社会基本状况、湖州市各类医疗机构注册临床医生、区域卫生规划政策和措施等现状进行调查.数据通过软件SPSSforWindowsVer12.0.1进行统计分析.结果显示湖州市国内生产总值、人均国内生产总值和人均可支配收入均远高于全国平均水平;近3~5年人均医疗保健支出呈快速增长之势,平均增长速度高于GDP的增长,人均医疗保健支出占GDP的比重亦逐年增长;平均每千人口拥有临床医生数为1.42人;具有本科(学士)及以上学历的临床医生占26.3%,47.2%的临床医生学历为中专及以下;高、中、低级职称之比为1∶2.5∶5.2.由此可见,目前湖州市临床医生在数量和质量上均难以满足人们日益增长的医疗保健需求;未来十年内平均每年需补充临床医生数应不少于220.4人;湖州市对临床医生的需求增长主要表现为对学历水平和职称水平较高的临床医生的需求.

An analysis of prereferral interventions

The interventions used by 105 elementary classroom teachers before referring students for psychoeducational evaluation were examined. Analyses were conducted on: (a) types, combinations, and duration of preferral interventions; (b) individuals spoken with prior to referral; and (c) the relationship between prereferral interventions and reasons for referral. Most interventions appeared to be teacher-directed actions, ones that sometimes were influenced by consultation, most were implemented for an unspecified time period with few measures of observed success or failure. Most teachers used combinations of interventions; few types of interventions were related to the reasons for referral cited by the teachers. These findings are discussed in terms of their implications for the role of prereferral intervention in the referral process, and the role of consultation in the intervention process.
