客家农村地区谚语非常丰富,由于人们多年来对生活中出现各种气象的观察,及对从事农事活动的经验总结,产生了很多生动有趣的农业气象谚语。这些谚语又在生活和农业生产活动中起到了一定的参考作用。文章选取了部分客家地区的农业气象类谚语,从修辞的角度来分析其特点。分析表明:客家地区农业气象类谚语讲究修辞格律,使用了多种修辞格形式,达到了良好的修辞表达效果。因此客家农业气象类谚语得以融趣味性与实用性于一体,并得到广泛地应用和传播。 相似文献

This secondary qualitative analysis identified metaphorical expressions mothers of twins used to describe their first year caring for their infants. Data from the primary grounded theory study were reanalyzed using metaphor identification procedure and revealed eight metaphors: blur, life on hold, being an orchestrator, being a juggler, being an equalizer, being a quick-change artist, being a milk factory, and open invitation. These metaphors give clinicians an insider''s view of the struggle''s mothers of twins experience during the first year after birth. Being attentive to the metaphors mothers used can provide a unique approach to helping them. Lactation consultants are key to providing much needed support for mothers who are breastfeeding twins. 相似文献

This article reports on the educator qualities that are valued by Australian teachers involved in sexuality education in high schools. Focus groups were conducted with school sexuality education teachers in 19 high schools in five Australian states. Data indicated that teachers valued being trustworthy, being open and honest, being willing to listen, having a sense of humour, and being able to relate to the students, especially being able to relate in a trustworthy and confidential way. Also valued were being comfortable with one's own sexuality, being approachable and being flexible. These qualities are similar to those recommended in the literature in the 1970s and 1980s and correspond closely to the qualities sought by today's high school students. Australian schoolteachers currently enjoy a positive climate for teaching sexuality education, as do many European schoolteachers. This contrasts with the climate for many American teachers where Abstinence Until Marriage programme requirements place many restrictions on what can be taught and may compromise the expression of teacher qualities such as being non-judgemental, flexible, open and honest. The findings have implications for teacher professional development, pre-service teacher education training, and the selection of teachers to teach sexuality education. 相似文献

I estimate the effect of being the best in the class in primary school on performance in secondary school. I implement a novel methodology that exploits that some students are the best in the class because better students in the same school are assigned to other classes. If students were randomly assigned, the probability of being the best in the class would be a well-known function of students ranking in the school and the number of classes. I use this exogenous probability as an instrument for actually being the best in the class. I find a positive impact of being the best in the class on future performance: being the best in primary school increases test scores by 0.13 standard deviations in secondary school. My instrument is suitable to account for the sorting of units into groups in other contexts. 相似文献

University counseling center clients’ (N = 52) perceptions of precounseling functioning were highly correlated with their actual well‐being scores at intake. The magnitude of change based on perceptions of precounseling functioning to current well‐being was approximately double of what is found from the difference of actual precounseling well‐being to current well‐being scores. Retrospective methods for assessing precounseling functioning are best suited for comparison among clients or counseling processes. 相似文献

Mentoring has been proposed as a means to enhance the career success of women faculty in the academic environment. This phenomenological study was undertaken to understand and describe the essential nature and meaning of the experience of being mentored for women faculty. In-depth conversational interviews were conducted with nine women faculty who stated that they had been mentored while in a faculty role. Their mentoring relationships were formal and informal, with male and female mentors of varying ranks, and both internal and external to the protégés' institutions. Through an analysis of the interview text, five essential themes of the experience of being mentored for women faculty emerged. These essential themes are (a) having someone who truly cares and acts in one's best interest, (b) a feeling of connection, (c) being affirmed of one's worth, (d) not being alone, and (e) politics are part of one's experience. 相似文献
