The article points out two main difficulties of a value-oriented educational policy: first, a value orientation on the basis of day-to-day politics is insufficient, as is shown by a historical review of the German reform policies of 1920, 1945, and 1968 which were guided by current political trends at the time. Second, pluralist theory provides no adequate orientation for education; this is demonstrated by comparative reflections on the East European policy of prescribing values and the western concept of relativity of values. But, as man-made environmental and internal catastrophes are becoming increasingly predictable and the necessity of an “ethics of survival” is being recognised all over the world, individuals and societies find themselves compelled to strive for a reasonable, i.e. a personal, societal and human identity. Educational policy can, therefore, be successful only if it is committed to this threefold value orientation, if it works towards it and tries to secure it for the long term. Since ecology is also an indispensable dimension of economy, education must in future orientate itself in the light of human ecology.  相似文献

Sjöberg, Rristina &; Tropé, Barbro (1969). The Value of External Direction and Individual Discovery in Learning Situations: The Learning of a Grammatical Rule. Scand. J. Educ. Res. 13, 233‐240. Forty‐five pairs pairs matched according to sex, line of study, and intelligence, were selected out of four sixth grade classes. Group A was told the principle and allowed to practice it on a number of examples. Group B was given the practices only. It was found that group A learned the principle better, and was also better as to transfer. On a test of retention 5 weeks later there were no longer any differences between the groups.  相似文献

Abstract:Wedman, I. 1981. Allocating Individuals into Mastery States on the Basis of Expected Utilities. Scandinavian Journal of Educational Research 25,9‐19. This study describes a procedure for making decisions in connection with criterion‐referenced measurements. The procedure, which may be called a full Bayesian procedure, uses continuous utility functions instead of a dichotomized utility structure. The basic idea is to combine the posterior distribution for a certain person with utility functions for ‘advance’ and ‘retain’ decisions respectively. The decision is then made in favour of the action with the largest expected utility. Fictitious data are presented to illustrate the procedure.  相似文献

Opening up educational paths and especially decoupling educational courses and final school qualifications are seen as important aspects of the modernization of Swiss education. The study presented here investigates to what extent this de-linking actually took place in the case of the Swiss canton Freiburg. 525 pupils from German-speaking schools were observed in their progress from the end of primary school (year 6) to the transfer into the upper secondary level Gymnasium (year 10) or into alternative educational routes. Indeed, almost half of the young people, who went to the Gymnasium, previously studied at a middle-level general secondary school and not the preparatory Progymnasium; a strong indication of decoupling. Furthermore, the study shows that entry into the upper secondary level Gymnasium is still possible for pupils despite weak performance at primary level. Irrespective of the evidence for an opening of the education system, the findings also show that attending a Progymnasium has a significant effect on school biographies. The chance of transferring into the upper secondary level Gymnasium is twice as high for graduates, who attended a Progymnasium, as for comparative pupils, who did not. Additionally, a privileged social background correlates with a high chance of entry into the upper secondary level Gymnasium.  相似文献

Am 24. August 2012 fand in Form einer Kooperationsveranstaltung von bmwf, IST Austria, FWF und Österreichischem Wissenschaftsrat im Rahmen der Technologiegespräche des Europäischen Forum Alpbach der Workshop "Klettersteig in die Karriere" statt. Aufgabe des Wissenschaftsrates war es unter anderem, die Ergebnisse in einem Bericht darzustellen. Dazu sollten auch die thematischen Schwerpunkte einer leidenschaftlich geführten Diskussion nachgezeichnet werden. Der Wissenschaftsrat arbeitet gegenwärtig selbst an einer Empfehlung zu den Governance-strukturen der Universitäten, in der auch auf das Thema wissenschaftlicher Nachwuchs eingegangen wird.  相似文献

In the course of the fundamental reform of studies at the Austrian universities the education of grammar school teachers was renewed in 1971. In a long tradition (since 1855) teachers for upper secondary education, especially for grammar schools (which lead pupils to the matriculation qualification for university education) were prepared for their teacher admission examination by studies at the universities which comprised besides of subject matters theoretically introducing courses in pedagogy and psychology. Their practical training was organised in a guided probationary year at schools (apprenticeship‐type).

Since 1982 a new integrated (concurrent) preservice teacher education programme is realised at the Austrian universities, which combines subject studies (in two fields) with teachers’ professional preparation (comprising theoretical studies and practical activities and experiences in education and teaching). The new teacher education programme takes 4#fr1/2> years and leads to the academic degree of a master of arts or science, which gives full professional teacher qualification. The profession‐oriented parts include studies in education and psychology (10 semester course units: 150 hours), subject teaching studies (12‐24 semesters course units: 180‐360 hours) and a 12‐week period of practical teaching experience. Each university designs within this framework a specific study programme. An overview is given in the paper; the programme of the university of Graz is shown in more detail as an example.

At present the introduction of a one‐year‐lasting induction period as a second phase of teacher education is discussed and planned, which should be established in 1988‐89.  相似文献

The career choice motivations of potential teachers, their interests and other factors relevant to their choice of career are studied in order to achieve the best possible recruitment of new entrants to the teaching profession. However, the research and findings which are already available in this field are inadequate. The article is the first study which aims to analyse the structure and applicability of the internationally accessible FIT-Choice instrument to detect the relevant factors for teaching as a career choice in Germany, Austria and Switzerland on the basis of representative samples (n = 6,601) in order to create a data basis which will enable the previously unconnected research initiatives in German-speaking countries to be combined. In addition, teaching experience is taken into account and used to check how valid the career choice motives stated by the students are. The overall objective is to explore the extent to which measurements of career choice motives and teaching experience and analysis of two areas can be generalised across different institutions and countries and can go beyond the limited significance of the previously available findings, and eventually to formulate generalisable assumptions about the ideas which influence teaching as a career choice, and especially the motivation which leads to this career choice.  相似文献

The Froebel method, which arrived in France in 1855, in Mme de Marenholtz's luggage, valorized a principle that was unusual in the “salles d'asile” of the time — namely the concept of education through games and play activities — and provoked a strong patriotic feeling after 1870. Despite numerous expressions of interest, this method was not officially adopted: between 1881 and 1887, the “salle d'asile” gave way to the infant school rather than to the kindergarten. Froebel's programme, nonetheless, helped unsettle the first French model of preschool education. At the infant school the tiers were replaced by tables, and practical work was included in the curriculum. The reformers were hostile to any kind of systématisation; they opted for an eclectic method, which took into consideration the propaedeutic vocation of the French institution by associating the kindergarten activities with schooiwork.  相似文献

Bezüglich der katholisch-theologischen Fakultäten an staatlichen Universitäten Österreichs ist auch das kirchliche Hochschulrecht zu beachten. Es gibt erhebliche Spannungen zwischen dem kirchlichen Hochschulrecht und dem Universitätsgesetz 2002. Diese betreffen vor allem die Stellung der Fakultät innerhalb der Universität und ihre zugleich personale wie kollegiale Leitung sowie die Rechtsstellung der Lehrpersonen. Besonderen Bedenken begegnet die Rechsstellung der Theologischen Fakultät Salzburg. Die notwendigen Anpassungen müssen von den Universitäten im Einvernehmen mit der zuständigen kirchlichen Autorität durchgeführt werden.  相似文献

This study was designed to investigate the cross‐cultural similarity of vocational interests as measured by the Strong Interest Inventory. An Icelandic version of the SII was administered to Icelandic college students studying medicine, business, library science, geology, biology, psychology, theology, and nursing. 290 first year students were tested, and 123 students approaching final exams of whom 80 were re‐tested two years later. Reliability coefficients for the scales (occupational themes, interests, occupations and the special scales) varied from 0.79 to 0.89. On the basis of the US norms 74‐83 percent of students were correctly classified into their actual professional group. The results indicate that US norms are valid for Icelandic college students and allow for satisfying prediction of educational and vocational choice. This may indicate that the US norms of the SII could be applicable for other Nordic college students. SII scale scores for all groups indicate identical interest structure for Icelandic and US groups of the same field of study.  相似文献
