公共教育学的革命:由教师教育学向学生教育学转变

公共教育学作为师范生的一门必修课，长期以来对师范生向师性的培养并未起到应有的作用，其原因在于该课是以教师能教些什么为出发点而组织的教学内容，即教师教育学；而不是以学生为本所建构的教学体系即学生教育学。     

从知识的教育学到实践的教育学

哲学化和科学化是自夸美纽斯以来教育学发展的两条路径,由此形成了思辨决定论、自然决定论和社会决定论三种教育学知识体系。其共同特点是其所试图建立的学科体系与教育活动本身相悖,教育学知识的价值取向迷失。要改变这种状况,就要消解教育学知识的抽象性和唯我性,把目光投向更为丰富多彩的教育实践。这个转向是对现有教育学研究中心课题及一系列相应的研究理路、思维方式的根本性转换。面向实践的教育学要关注生活的价值,由对教育活动及人的成长的外在原因的说明,转为对人的内在的自我批判意识的唤醒和对现实教育的批判和反思。

A critical pedagogy of place: from gridlock to parallax 1

Differences of perspective, standpoint and subjectivity can help to enlarge the conceptual landscape of environmental education theory. Rejections of difference, on the other hand, can become an intolerance that narrows the scope of inquiry. This rejoinder argues that Bowers’ repeated rejections of critical pedagogy are based on a partial reading of the critical tradition, and that these critiques, including his current call to ‘avoid embracing’ a critical pedagogy of place, are unnecessarily dismissive and therefore counterproductive. Environmental education has benefited and will continue to benefit from the critical tradition of which critical pedagogy is a part. Relationships and/or antagonisms are constructed through human responses and interactions. Sameshima’s pedagogical theory of parallax is introduced as a way of seeing relationships between ideas that have been thought to be opposed. Moving toward relationship rather than rivalry, the rejoinder concludes by suggesting that Bowers’ and Freire’s criticality is actually more alike than different.     

Playful explicitness with grammar: a pedagogy for writing

The place of grammar within the teaching of writing has long been contested and successive research studies have indicated no correlation between grammar teaching and writing attainment. However, a recent study has shown a significant positive impact on writing outcomes when the grammar input is intrinsically linked to the demands of the writing being taught. The study adopted a mixed methods design with a large‐scale randomised controlled trial accompanied by a qualitative dataset, which provided contextual information about how the intervention was implemented. In this paper, we will outline the pedagogical principles that underpinned the intervention, and illustrate both the theoretical grounding and practical classroom examples that exemplify the approach. We will argue that any future policy or professional development that draws on this research must take account of these pedagogical principles, rather than focusing too superficially on either the grammar or the teaching materials which exemplify them.     

Culturally relevant/sustaining pedagogy in a diverse urban classroom: Challenges of pedagogy for Syrian refugee youths and teachers in Turkey

This study focused on whether and how teachers implemented the principles of culturally relevant and sustaining pedagogies and the challenges teachers faced while trying to implement these principles with Syrian students in Turkey. The study was built on the four components of pedagogies: academic achievement; cultural competencies; sociopolitical consciousness; and the sustainability of culture. Qualitative data were obtained through interviews and field notes with four teachers who had Syrian students in their classes and four Syrian students. Content analysis was used to examine the data. The findings revealed that both teachers and students had low expectations of academic achievement. Teachers conducted the teaching–learning process entirely according to the perspectives of students who were from the mainstream culture. Teachers tried to improve the cultural competencies and enhance their sociopolitical consciousness of the Syrian students; however, the attempts were limited and inadequate. Although teachers were aware of the importance of sustaining the Syrian culture, they did not know how to do so. The teachers did not have sufficient competencies or experiences to make revisions or to carry out an effective instructional process tailored to the needs of Syrian students because of an absence of skills and knowledge of multicultural education.     

英语专业学生听力课堂焦虑调查研究

焦虑情绪是听力课堂中的普遍现象;听力课堂中听力材料的难度、听力技巧的缺乏、学习者英语水平所致的自信心丧失和教师负面评价是造成学习者产生听力焦虑的主要成因。根据调查结果分析,本文提出了降低学生焦虑情绪的教学策略。

高职英语专业学生听力焦虑、听力策略与听力水平的相关性研究

82名高职英语专业学生参加了英语听力焦虑问卷和英语听力策略问卷调查研究。研究发现,听力焦虑情绪在被调查的高职英语专业学生中普遍存在,大部分学生处于中低度焦虑状态。听力焦虑感与学生的听力水平呈负相关,与元认知策略的使用和认知策略的使用呈高度正相关。学生的听力水平与认知策略的使用呈负相关,与情感策略的使用呈正相关。英语水平和认知策略的使用对学生的听力成绩有预测力。

学习策略的研究已成为二语习得研究的一个新领域。作为四项基本技能之一的听力也引起了研究者的关注。国内外已有很多研究者对听力学习策略进行过调查和研究。但研究对象多以英语专业学生为主,针对大一入学新生听力学习策略状况的研究并不多。通过问卷调查后发现:1)学生已部分地掌握了一些认知和元认知策略,如预览、推测和自我调整等,但尚未形成系统。2)目前学生社交/情感策略严重缺乏。因此,今后的大学英语听力教学需有针对性地进行。     

口译听辨理论在听力教改中的应用研究

口译听辨理论在口译中起着至关重要的作用,但在实际口译教学中,学生的听辨能力却很差,通过了解普通听力与口译听辨的区别,分析口译听辨的心理语言学特点,探讨了改革传统听力课程教学,提高口译听辨能力,为高年级口译教学服务,以达到语言学习最终为语言应用和交际这一目标,并就低年级听力教改提出若干建议。     

A pedagogy of emotion in teaching about social movement learning

This article explores the role of emotion in teaching about social issues in higher education. We draw and expand upon Boler's notion of a ‘Pedagogy of Discomfort’, Goodman's and Curry-Steven's concept of a ‘Pedagogy for the Privileged', and on Freire's idea of a ‘Pedagogy of Hope', in reflecting on our own experiences in teaching a graduate-level course on social movement learning. We argue for the importance of further sociological theorisation of the role of emotion in teaching and learning in higher education, and acknowledge the challenges a Pedagogy of Emotion present to those teaching in the social sciences at the post-secondary level.
