The Role of the Media

In Educational Media International 1979, No 3, we mentioned in News and Views that the Scottish Council for Educational Technology was moving to larger premises in the former Notre Dame College of Education in Glasgow. They are still very occupied with settling in this very splendid old building which, as can be seen from the photograph opposite, is very attractive.

Drone Class: Keeping Coursework Current as Technology Advances

Today’s students prioritize employment; they want to be sure that there will be work for them upon graduation. Film and media students, in particular, need a long list of computer software and film equipment skills on their resumes, especially newer technologies that professionals in the workforce have not yet mastered. Consider, in this regard, the development of aerial photography, a staple of conventional filming. Just as students can elect to specialize in camera technology or motion graphics, they may soon choose to hone their drone operator skills. Colleges with an emphasis on ensuring viable employment for graduates would be wise to offer drone training for all types of students, from engineering and robotics, to agriculture and aid work. They need to choose the training that will truly best serve their students.

A New Parliament Reviews the General Teaching Council for Scotland

The first major legislation of the new Scottish Parliament is an Education Act which has a dramatic impact on the General Teaching Council for Scotland. The Act has implications for the influence of teacher unions over the Council, for the dismissal of teachers who are deemed to be incompetent, and for the continuing professional development of teachers. Relationships between teachers and government are thus fundamentally changed by the new Parliament and its processes.

为贯彻落实党的十七届五中全会、全国教育工作会议精神和<国家中长期教育改革和发展规划纲要(2010-2020年)>,积极发展学前教育,着力解决当前存在的"入园难"问题,满足适龄儿童入园需求,促进学前教育事业科学发展,2010年11月24日,国务院颁布了<关于当前发展学前教育的若干意见>.     

Design & Technology: New Directions

The Design and Technology Working Group appointed to advise the Secretary of State on design and technology, and on information technology for ages five to 16 reported in May. The joint comments of the Secretaries of State and the report of the Design and Technology Working Group together form the formal proposals for attainment targets and programmes of study published in June. Phillip Rodbard, associate lecturer in education, Brunel University, and in-service trainer on CDT and special educational needs, discusses the report, on which views need to reach the National Curriculum Council by September 22.     

试论新《公司法》对职工利益的保护

新《公司法》在总则中明确规定公司要承担社会责任,这有利于对职工等利益相关者的保护。原《公司》法虽然对职工利益的保护也作出了规定,但远未系统化和明确化。新《公司法》通过一系列的措施加强了对职工利益的保护,但仍然存在缺陷,本文主要从现行法律规定出发进行阐述,同时就如何完善这一制度提出了几点建议。
