作为汉魏六朝赋的一个重要门类，音乐赋承载并阐释了古代音乐化的丰富内涵。从共时性的视角来看，音乐赋体现了传统音乐化的宇宙品格和伦理内蕴；从历时性的视角来看，音乐赋又阐释了音乐化从教化到娱乐、从道德美到艺术美的嬗变轨迹。     

论汉晋音乐赋的社会功用

音乐赋是一种描写音乐、舞蹈等内容的文学作品.汉晋音乐赋在描写音乐、舞蹈等内容的同时,也担负着政治教化与娱乐两大社会功用.汉晋音乐赋的政治教化功用常与"移风易俗"的伦理说教联系在一起,并试图通过音乐、舞蹈等内容的描写,来净化人心,从而有助于立身、立国.同时,汉晋音乐赋也注重追求音乐的娱乐功用,描写乐舞给人赏心悦目之感.在汉晋阶段,音乐赋的这两种功用常常交织在一起.到了六朝,音乐赋的娱乐功用渐渐取代了政教功用而一枝独秀.
