English speaking has been paid more attention today, especially in the age of globalization. Teachers are attempting to find out more effective methods to enhance the teaching results of English speaking. Facing the great demands and present difficulties of oral English classes, teachers have to conduct more study and practice to find out what roles that an oral English teacher has to take in the oral English classroom. Compared with the traditional teaching role in the English classroom, an oral English teacher has to fulfill more than one role in the classroom teaching so as to provide better learning conditions for students. Lacking more exposure to the real interaction with native speakers, students expect the oral English teacher to be a creator of the language environment. With various teaching and learning activities in the oral English classroom, the teacher has to be a good organizer to ensure every student to achieve improvement. An oral English teacher also has to correct students’language errors while ensuring the smooth progress of the classroom teaching. Only when an oral English teacher make clear what roles he or she has to take in the classroom can he or she achieve effective teaching.

Oral English Improvement: by Watching Original Films——A Positivism Research Based on the English Screenplay Corpus

It is a good choice to see original films when practising oral English. There are also original film course in some of the colleges and universities. We try to have an emprical study in the corpus of English films screenplays about vocabulary. ① Get the table of lemmatization by using antconc3.2.2w; ② Calculate the film-watching numbers with the golden section method. A conclusion has been drawn that if you want to reach the professional level of oral English, 88 to 98 films are demanded.

A Probe into the Relationship between Native Language Thinking and the Oral English Output Process of the College Students

Scholars have used the method of thinking aloud to conduct experiments on the relationship between mother tongue thinking and college students’ spoken English output process.Referring to the experimental data,this essay try to do a further study on mother tongue thinking’ function of each oral output process,especially the function of the idea-organizing.It is designed to enable non-English major college students consciously to take advantage of the positive transfer of mother tongue thinking and take the initiative to adapt to the English thinking pattern in order to achieve the objective of improving their English oral communication skills and ensure the effectiveness of language learning.     

A Study on the Communication Strategies used by the Oversea EFL Learners

The data collection procedure of this study was carried out during my one year study in Canada. This study conducted the method of interview to the oversea students from Saint Mary’s University in order to provide some useful suggestions for the EFL learners who are planning to study abroad or want to improve their English speaking skill.

Literature Review of Oral English Teaching

Under the present situations in China, more and more graduates with higher proficiency in oral English are required. However, the author learned that students in most universities are lack of this ability. It’s the urgent task for college English teachers to help students improve their oral English to the required level. The author of this paper will review the literature of foreign langue teaching in relation to oral English teaching in college, hence leading more English teachers to reflect on new and effective ways of oral English teaching.     

Developing learner autonomy for oral language on the base of emergent metacognition

This paper conducted on an empirical study among 466 first-year semester diploma students of Wenzhou University, contemplates some metacognitive strategies for facilitating learners＇ self-autonomy for oral language learning. Oral language appropriateness and procuration within the context of globality and lifelong learning are essential to the Chinese college students. To support the improvement, we initiated a ＂Four-dimensional-cycle＂ Approach （Four-d-c Approach） to examine the result of metacognitive strategy training, and we produced a ＂Four-dimensional-cycle＂ oral communicative test. To pledge ＂Four-dimensional-cycle＂ oral communication, ＂the NTP English Learning Model＂, ＂the SCARF English Teaching Enlightened Procedure＂ and ＂SLS-focus Infiltration English Teaching Mode＂ have been in succession designed. Results of this paper are expected to provoke a depth research on how to heighten learners＇ self-autonomy for oral language by effectively utilizing metacognitive knowledge, metacognitive experience and metacognitive monitoring.     

Correlation and Regression Analyses on the Washback effects of Achievement Oral Test on College English Learning

The purpose of this study was to investigate how washback effect of a reformed test influenced students’perspectives in their spoken English learning. This study was expected to enrich the existing literature in testing washback in English as a foreign language context.Findings indicate that the adding of oral part in achievement test does have a positive washback effect on students’learning. However, such a washback effect on students’learning is quite superficial and limited.

The Application of TBLT in Oral English Teaching for Children
