A Study of Humor of The Actor’ s Lines in If You Are the One from the Perspective of Cooperative Principle

In the thesis the author explores the humor of the actor’ s lines in If You Are the One from the perspective of cooperative princi ple and its four maxims in the context of pragmatics.Through analyzing the purposeful violation of the maxims in the environment of the cooperation principle,the author intends to probe into the ways the actors figure out the implicature of humorous utterances and manage to carry on the conversation and the reproduction of the amusing effect.     

Dynamics of installation way for the actuator of a two-stage active vibration-isolator

We investigated the behaviors of an active control system of two-stage vibration isolation with the actuator installed in parallel with either the upper passive mount or the lower passive isolation mount. We revealed the relationships between the active control force of the actuator and the parameters of the passive isolators by studying the dynamics of two-stage active vibration isolation for the actuator at the foregoing two positions in turn. With the actuator installed beside the upper mount, a small active force can achieve a very good isolating effect when the frequency of the stimulating force is much larger than the natural frequency of the upper mount; a larger active force is required in the low-frequency domain; and the active force equals the stimulating force when the upper mount works within the resonance region, suggesting an approach to reducing wobble and ensuring desirable installation accuracy by increasing the upper-mount stiffness. In either the low or the high frequency region far away from the resonance region, the active force is smaller when the actuator is beside the lower mount than beside the upper mount.

The actual infrastructure of the information society sustains the globalization trend and increases the importance of the information and knowledge. The development of the knowledge society is the direct consequence of the mix of economic, social and cultural processes, which involve the knowledge creation and its equitable distribution, access and sharing. Universities, as poles of knowledge, creativity and innovation, play a key part in the regional development and the global competitiveness. The universities are active promoters of the innovation culture at the regional and international level, by increasing the synergy among education, research and innovation. The article focuses on the role of the academic area in the development of the learning and creative society at the regional level, contributing to the design of new knowledge and technology embedded products, services and organizational processes, which represent the premises of the global competitiveness. The most important challenge the academic environment faces in the new economy is to bridge the gap between the political decision, the governance and the labour market, offering innovative solutions and developing the intellectual capital to address the various issues of the knowledge economy. The article highlights the role of the universities as regional development drivers, by analyzing the economic performance of the Bucharest-llfov region and the direct influence of the trinomial equation： education-research-innovation.     

Effect of the amplification factor on seismic stability of expanded municipal solid waste landfills using the pseudo-dynamic method

The evaluation of the seismic stability of an expanded municipal solid waste （MSW） landfill is very important in seismic prone zones. In this paper, the pseudo-dynamic method was used to calculate the average safety factor for the expanded landfill with a trapezoidal berm based on under-berm failure conditions. Furthermore, the effects of the variation of parameters such as the amplification factor, seismic coefficient, height of berm, angle of back slope of berm, and depth of waste mass at the back slope on the seismic stability of the landfill were studied. The results indicated that the influences of the vertical seismic coefficient, height of berm, and angle of the back slope of the berm on the seismic stability of the landfill are weakened as the amplification factor increases, but the influence of the horizontal seismic coefficient on the seismic stability of the landfill is strengthened. On the other hand, a certain ratio of the height of the waste mass above the back slope to the depth of waste mass at the back slope, or the reasonable consideration of the magnitude of the amplification factor will be conducive to the seismic design of the landfill. In addition, the results obtained by the pseudo-static and pseudo-dynamic methods were compared.     

Simulation of droplet topography on super-hydrophobic surface

We established a novel droplet model (with-gravity model) to show the gravity effect of the droplet in the contact angle experiment.By using with-gravity model, we obtained a three-dimensional topography of the droplet including the height of the droplet, the shape of the baseline and the circumference of the baseline.Comparing the with-gravity model with the ideal spherical model, our model considered the measurement error caused by gravity effect in the contact angle experiment which is a key point to influence the three-dimension topography of the droplet.From the calculation of our model, we found that there were two important points to enhance the measurement error: the size of the droplet and the contact angle.With the droplet and the contact angle became larger, measurement error was obviously increased.

Three-dimensional bursting phenomena in meander channel

Experiments were conducted in a U-shaped open-channel flume with the intention of investigating the bursting phenomena in the meander channel. The experimental results of the secondary flow fields and the Reynolds shear stress distributions show that the velocity and velocity fluctuation in the transverse direction are not negligible. Moreover, the bursting process is investigated using the three-dimensional quadrant analysis, which is more accurate than using the traditional two-dimensional quadrant analysis for the meandering channel. It is obtained from the experimental results that the internal group of events occurs more frequently than the external group, particularly the internal ejection and internal sweep events. In addition, the transition probabilities of the movements, which are defined as the changes of events from the current situation to the next situation in a time series, show that the stable organizations of events are the most possible movements, whereas the cross organizations of events have the least possible movements.     

Multi-scaled simulation of latticed frames considering bending collapse of pipes

To consider the bending collapse of the pipes in the latticed frames, based on the multi-scale simulation, the collapsed parts of the pipe are meshed by the shell elements as micro-scaled models, and the other parts are meshed by beam elements macro-models. The incremental displacement constraint equations for the nodes on the section between the two models are established based on the plane section premise of classical beam theory. The method to introduce the constraint equations is derived based on the Updated Largrangian method. The location of the micro-model is predicted by the stress field of the beam element, and the length of the collapsed part is adjusted by the plastic energy in the micro model. Several examples are included to illustrate the efficiency and accuracy of this method.     

Effects of a flexible joint on instability of a free-free jointed bipartite beam under the follower and transversal forces

This paper deals with the problem of the instability regions of a free-free flexible jointed bipartite beam under the follower and transversal forces as a realistic simulation of a two-stage aerospace structure. The aim of this study is to analyze the effects of the characteristics of a flexible joint on the beam instability to use maximum bearable propulsion force. A parametric study is conducted to investigate the effects of the stiffness and the location of the joint on the critical follower force by the Ritz method and the Newmark method, then to research the vibrational properties of the structure. It has been shown that the nature of instability is quite unpredictable and dependent on the stiffness and the location of the joint. The increase of the follower force or the transversal force will increase the vibration of the model and consequently cause a destructive phenomenon in the control system of the aerospace structure. Furthermore, this paper introduces a new concept of the parametric approach to analyze the characteristics effects of a flexible two-stage aerospace structure joint design.

Adapting property path for polynomial-time evaluation and reasoning on semantic web

Property path is the latest navigational extension of the standard query language SPARQL 1.1 for the Semantic Web.However,in the existing SPARQL query systems which support property path,the query efficiency is very low and does not support reasoning.This paper proposes a new existential semantics which has polynomial-time evaluation complexity and an equivalent relationship with the current semantics,and transforms the property path expressions to the extended nested regular expressions based on the existential semantics and proves the semantic equivalence after the transformation considering the RDFS semantics.The property path query engine is achieved by implementing the nested regular expressions algorithm and the transformation rules from the property path expressions to the nested regular expressions,which maintains the syntax simplicity of property path and the goal-oriented polynomial-time reasoning to avoid computing the RDF graph closure.The experiment results not only show the characteristics of query engine based on the existential semantics in efficiency and reasoning,but also further validate the equivalence between the results based on current semantics and those based on the existential semantics for property path after the removal of duplicate values.     

Analytical study on the dynamic displacement response of a curved track subjected to moving loads

A closed-form out-of-plane dynamic displacement response of a curved track subjected to moving loads was pro- posed. The track structure was modeled as a planar curved Timoshenko beam periodically supported by the double-layer spring-damping elements. The general dynamic displacement response induced by the moving loads along the curve on the elastic semi-infinite space was firstly obtained in the frequency domain, according to the Duhamel integral and the dynamic reciprocity theorem. In the case of the periodic curved track structure subjected to moving loads, the dynamic displacement equation was simplified into a form of summation within the basic track cell instead of the integral. The transfer function for the curved track was expressed in the form of a transfer matrix. Single and series moving loads were involved in the calculation program. For the verification of the analytical model, the mid-span vertical deflection of a simply support curved beam subjected to moving load was recalculated and compared with the same case in the reference. The research results indicate that： under the same moving loads, the displacement response of the curved track decreases slightly with the increasing track radius, and the displacement response of the curved track with the radius greater than or equal to 600 m is almost equivalent to the displacement response of the straight track; the frequency spectrum of the curved track is more abundant than that of the straight track, which may result in more wheel-rail resonance and rail corrugation in the curved lines.     

Wind-induced response analysis of a wind turbine tower including the blade-tower coupling effect

To analyze wind-induced response characteristics of a wind turbine tower more accurately, the blade-tower coupling effect was investigated. The mean wind velocity of the rotating blades and tower was simulated according to wind shear effects, and the fluctuating wind velocity time series of the wind turbine were simulated by a harmony superposition method. A dynamic finite element method （FEM） was used to calculate the wind-induced response of the blades and tower. Wind-induced responses of the tower were calculated in two cases （one included the blade-tower coupling effect, and the other only added the mass of blades and the hub at the top of the tower）, and then the maximal displacements at the top of the tower of the tow cases were compared with each other. As a result of the influence of the blade-tower coupling effect and the total base shear of the blades, the maximal displacement of the first case increased nearly by 300% compared to the second case. To obtain more precise analysis, the blade-tower coupling effect and the total base shear of the blades should be considered simultaneously in the design of wind turbine towers.

Internal force and deformation matrixes and their applications in load path

This paper deals with the internal force and the deformation matrixes, both of which can be used to analyze the topological relationship of a structure. Based on the reciprocal theorem, the relationship between the two matrixes is established, which greatly simplifies the computation of the internal force matrix. According to the characteristics of the internal force matrix, the transfer law of the matrix itself（due to the removal of components） is established based on the principle of linear superposition. With the relation of the two matrixes, the transfer law of the deformation matrix is also obtained. The transfer law illuminates the change regularity of internal force or deformation of the remnant structure when certain members are cut offone after another. The results of numerical examples show that the proposed methods are correct, reliable and effective.
