关于传播学研究的几点意见

传播学自 2 0世纪 80年代在我国兴起以来 ,其研究经历着译介与“本土化”的洗礼 ,如何对待这门年轻的学科研究 ?作者就译介形式、研究角度、及“外来学科”与“本土化”等问题提出了独到的见解。     

Theories of communication,human nature,and the world: Associations and implications

Although much scholarly attention has been devoted to conceptualizing communication, few attempts have been made to examine the practical consequences of individuals’ beliefs about communication. This paper reports the results of an initial investigation into the relationships among personal theories of communication (or message design logics), privately held philosophies of human nature, and personal assumptions about the world. Results demonstrated significant differences in participants’ philosophies of human nature and assumptions about the world as a function of message design logic. Implications and directions for future research are addressed.     

论档案的物理管理与逻辑管理

本文首次明确提出了档案管理内涵的两个基本方面———物理管理与逻辑管理 ,并对其理论缘起、实践意义做了阐述和分析。在提出问题的基础上 ,本文对档案的物理管理与逻辑管理的基本理论问题做了初步回答 :物理管理与逻辑管理的概念是什么?并对物理管理与逻辑管理的基本特征———管理对象特征、劳动特征、方法特征、思维特征、哲学特征等做了初步表述。     

马克思主义与逻辑方法

批判研究方法即逻辑方法,其哲学基础是恩格斯关于历史和逻辑相统一的方法论原则。逻辑方法与历史方法的关系十分密切,不能简单地肯定一方而否定另一方。在实际中运用逻辑方法,要科学界定其适用范围,根据实际需要选择其具体形式,此外还需要注意其语言特点。

The utilization of congruence coefficients in human communication research

This paper describes the use of congruence coefficients, which can be used to determine the similarity of factor structures (Tucker, 1951). Although this technique has been widely used, the human communication literature contains no simple explanation of how to calculate congruence coefficients. Therefore, this paper provides information on how to use factor analytic data to compute congruence coefficients. Information on testing congruence coefficients for statistical significance is also provided.

The department of communication at Michigan state university as a seed institution for communication study

A seed institution is an organization that plays a dominant role in a new scholarly field by shaping intellectual directions for theory and research. The Department of Communication at Michigan State University was a seed institution in defining the new field of communication study in the 1960s because (1) of its focus on an integrated perspective of communication, emphasizing commonalities across mass and interpersonal communication, (2) of its quantitative focus, (3) of its internationalization and intercultur‐alism, and (4) of its considerable resources devoted to research and doctoral training. We focus here on how Wilbur Schramm ‘s vision for communication study was implemented and modified by David K. Berlo and his colleagues at Michigan State University.

The Logical Uncertainty Principle is re-examined from the point of classical logic. Two interpretations are given, an objective one in terms of an axiomatic theory of information, and a subjective one based on Ramsey's theory of probability.

The author applies a quantitative analysis to data collected on a multi‐shift organization. The results are compared with a review of literature and the principles of organizational communication in single‐shift organizations.     

Winning an election: A communication case study

The researcher studies a community in Ohio in an attempt to change previous voting behavior involving a tax levy. This case study offers a methodology for future research.
