Acoustic sounding of the atmosphere

Measurement of vertical and horizontal wind velocity is of great importance in many contexts, such as investigation of air pollution, weather forecasting, and air-traffic control. In recent years continuously recording acoustic sounders have been developed which give reliable results at reasonable cost: some 200 are now in use in at least 15 countries.

钟南山院士批科技界浮躁风 列数科技论文四宗罪

＂当前科技界最大的问题,就是浮躁、不踏实。＂在昨日（10月24日）召开的纪念广东省科协成立50周年大会上,中国工程院院士钟南山痛批当前科技界的浮躁风。他说,多家国际专业杂志主编批评中国某些科学研究论文存在＂四宗罪＂：一是伦理问题,二是造假,三是抄袭,四是一稿多投,并互相提醒对中国论文＂多加注意＂。
