"改写":新闻翻译无形之手

传统译论下对新闻翻译的研究,多数停留在文本层面的技巧探讨上,忽视了"超文本"因素对新闻翻译的制约和操纵.随着翻译研究的"文化转向",传统译论下"忠实"的概念受到了强烈冲击.上世纪80年代初期,勒菲弗尔在一篇文章中讨论了布莱希特(Bertolt Brecht)作品的英译,在该文中提出了"折射"(Refraction)概念,指出"折射"就是为适应不同读者对作品进行改变.80年代中期,他又将"折射"变成"改写"(Rewriting).①《国际新闻翻译》(Translation in Global News)一书的作者比尔莎和巴斯奈特(Bielsa & Bassnett)对该理论大加赞赏,认为它为新闻翻译带来了新视角.

《北华捷报》(North-China Herald)集团的报刊,指1850年创刊的《北华捷报》及该报以后发行的一些英文与中文报刊。其中英文报刊,有1856年创刊的《每日航运新闻》(Daily Shipping News),该刊于1862年改为《每日航运与商业新闻》(Daily Shipping and Commercial News),至1864年又改为著名的《字林报》(North-China Daily News)。

少数民族新闻传播事业的全景记录——读《中国少数民族新闻传播通史》 (上下册)

十一届三中全会以来,中国新闻史研究"花枝春满、蝶舞蜂喧"(见方汉奇:《报史与报人》,第38页,新华出版社,1991年),一派繁荣景象。然而,在蒸蒸日上的中国新闻史研究领域,却留有一块"蛮荒"之地——少数民族新闻传播史。如今,白润生先生主持的"十五"国家社科基金项目、中央民族大学"211工程"建设项目《少数民族语文的新闻事业研究》的最终成果《中国少数民族新闻传播通史》(上下册)问世(中央民族大学出版社2008年3月),为中国新闻史研究填补了这一空白。     

我国社会新闻概念的辨析与探讨

社会新闻从诞生至今,学界对其概念作出了众多解释,但并无定论。这导致许多学者在开展社会新闻研究的过程中,极易将其与黄色新闻、软新闻和Society News等一些"舶来"词汇相互混淆。对于这一现象,本文旨在通过对社会新闻和与其混淆的相关词汇的具体比较分析,同时援引现实案例证明,以纠正当下学界关于社会新闻的解释存有的偏颇之处,为社会新闻概念的最终确定,扫清部分障碍。     

《卫报》数据新闻历史、现状与趋势研究

"数据新闻"作为一种新颖的报道形式2013年后风靡海内外,《卫报》作为数据新闻报道的先驱,其数据新闻实践与探索一直备受学界和业界关注。本文以《卫报》官网"数据新闻"(data journalism)为研究对象,采用内容分析法对该专题内全部数据新闻进行梳理分析,力求厘清《卫报》数据新闻历史脉络、目前现状及未来发展趋势。     

珍宝、标本与艺术:西方民族志藏品的内涵演变与发展逻辑

作为博物馆藏品的类型之一,民族志藏品自十五六世纪以来,经历了从"珍宝"(curio)到"标本"(specimen)到"艺术"(art)的不断发展与修正。民族志藏品架起的桥梁不仅实现了藏品与观众在博物馆空间内的沟通,而且还实现了非西方社会与西方社会的沟通,以及西方社会内部不同历史时期的认识论和知识体系的沟通。本文围绕这个主题,将民族志藏品置于整体的历史、社会与知识脉络中,探讨在社会发展和知识体系更迭的双重影响下,民族志藏品内涵与认识论逻辑的演变与发展。     

差异化竞争视野下同题体育新闻报道的呈现对比——以《南方都市报》和《新快报》对“恒大夺冠”赛事的报道为例

竞争白热化的多媒体时代,报业的生存空间备受挤压,唯有善于应对强者才能在同质化竞争和信息泛滥的新闻语境里脱颖而出,成为媒体洗牌格局中的优胜者和长寿者。本文以《南方都市报》(以下简称《南都》)和《新快报》(以下简称《新》)两家广东本土都市报为研究对象,以其报道的"恒大球队夺取2013赛季亚冠联赛冠军"(简称"恒大夺冠")的新闻为研究文本,探讨在同题新闻中两家本土媒体为了差异化竞争所作的不同新闻策略的差异。

作为美国首都最高学府开办的新闻工作者训练班,美国大学的新闻教学和条件自然数得上是一流水平。学校规定,学生务必在首都一家主要的新闻单位完成实习任务。这些单位有:朋线新闻网(Cable News Network)。全国公共广播电台(National Public Radio,简称NPR)、《洛杉矶时报》、《巴尔的摩太阳报》(The Baitimore Sun),以及其它地区性广播电台和印刷新闻的服务行业等。确定作为实习单位的报社或电台的主要标准是,看它们是否从华盛顿特区向全国提供新闻信息。训练班的教师应具备从事新闻工作的丰富经验、较高的新闻理论水平,以及曾经获得达到高等学术水准的证明书。这些教师大都在哥伦比亚广播系统、《华尔街日报》(The Wall StreetJournal)、《巴尔的摩太阳报》和《新闻周刊》杂志等单位工作过。

Basic concepts of entropy, order, organization, information, knowledge, and meaning

The classical concept of entropy is shown not to reflect the essence of the second law of thermodynamics both phenomenologically and theoretically. A new concept of entropy, S _n , is given, which offers a particular physical meaning of entropy and provides an experimental determination of the entropy value. This allows one to avoid many attempts at defining the phenomenon of life via entropy characteristics and give definitions of life and an elementary structure of both life itself and devices that simulate life (automata, computers, and robots.). This, in turn, allows one to assign a substantive sense to the mathematical character of corresponding sciences (information theory, cybernetics, system theory, etc.) and define operational basic concepts of information, knowledge, meaning, and control, as well as to formulate operational concepts of order, organization, and self-organization and implement a new approach to problems of biology, biophysics, information theory, cybernetics, and system theory.

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender health issues, disparities, and information resources

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) persons, while widely diverse in many ways, share health disparities related to the stigma and discrimination they experience, including disproportionate rates of psychiatric disorders, substance abuse, and suicide. Lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, and the transgender communities have additional health concerns and disparities unique to each population. This paper highlights the national recognition of these health issues and disparities and presents web-based information resources about them and their mitigation.
