A young adult devotee of a High Demand Group (“cult”) was engaged in brief intermittent developmental (BID) therapy, initially aimed at assisting him to critically assess his cult involvement. Over a five-year period, BID therapy helped him cope with two subsequent post-cult crises. Successfully negotiating these crises allowed further consolidation of his identity, and facilitated continued development of autonomy.  相似文献

A 19-year-old single Appalachian Caucasian man presented with panic attacks related to a recently developed phobia of bees. Brief solution-oriented therapy, along with the tools of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), was employed successfully to treat this specific phobia. The case of a male graduate student struggling with excessive interpersonal anxiety and promiscuous sexual behavior is presented. The interpersonal issues were addressed within the therapeutic relationship drawing parallels to and from relationships outside of therapy. During the fifteen sessions of interpersonally focused therapy, the client made significant progress in his ability to form and maintain healthy relationships.  相似文献

This case study illustrates the value of intermittent, brief psychotherapy applied over an extended period of time. The client, an undergraduate student athlete, presented with issues related to her athletic performance, claiming to “have lost my focus and desire.” Underlying that concern, however, were a host of other clinical concerns, including unresolved grief, family issues, individuation, and eating disordered behavior. Working with clients with both substance abuse and other Axis I mental health concerns is becoming more and more common on a college campus as well as in the general population. By utilizing both brief therapy techniques and a harm reduction approach, the therapist engages the client where the client is ready to begin in an attempt to motivate the client toward healthier choices. The National Institute for Clinical Excellence identifies educational psychologists as appropriate specialists to deliver interventions to promote the emotional well-being of children and families. A role for practitioner educational psychologists in providing specific therapeutic interventions has also been proposed by commentators. The present study reports an evaluative case study of a narrative therapy intervention with a young person who self-harms. The analysis of data suggests that the narrative therapy intervention was effectively implemented and resulted in attributable gains in emotional well-being, resilience and behaviour for the young person. The authors discuss the role of the educational psychologist in delivering specific therapeutic interventions within a local authority context and school-based setting. Consideration is also made of the development of the evidence base for the effectiveness of narrative therapy intervention with young people who self-harm.  相似文献

目的探讨利用多种途径综合治疗肩关节半脱位的疗效。方法将57例脑卒中偏瘫患者进行随机分组2组,康复组25人,对照组32人,康复组在进行常规药物治疗的基础上进行良肢位的摆放、运动治疗及护肩带的使用等多途径的治疗;对照组进行常规的药物治疗。结果康复组对于肩关节半脱位的疗效明显好于对照组,提高了患者的ADL能力。  相似文献

The published psychological literature on the developmental milestone that is the doctoral dissertation emphasizes either psychological interpretations or practical strategies as ways to help, each often failing to note the critical importance of the other. Clinicians need to understand underlying psychological issues that may complicate the dissertation-writing process, including particular difficulties that can arise for first-generation college students and other nontraditional students. Interpretation of unconscious conflicts is possible and sometimes critical even in brief treatments. Conversely, pragmatic techniques can help move students from paralysis into constructive action when interpretations do not. Case examples are offered throughout.  相似文献

本专题除了对主题的介绍性论文,还收录了三篇一线教师的叙事,均来自北京教科院德育中心举办的、为期一年的第三期教育行动研究工作坊中的叙事行动研究班。作为指导教师,笔者目睹了一大批教师在做叙事行动研究中的专业成长,这三篇文章就是其中的代表。本文意在介绍为什么将叙事探究转换为叙事行动研究,这两种路径有什么区别,教师们在叙事行动研究中获得了什么成长以及这种成长的发生需要什么条件。通过分析教师的参与过程和研究结果发现,相比叙事探究,叙事行动研究在教师公开发声、改变心智模式的基础之上,还需要触及学校场域中人们惯习的改变,其风险和挑战更大。通过本次工作坊的初步尝试,教师对叙事主题的认识更加准确,对主题的反思更加深刻,减少了自己的自责和内疚感,而且能够采取行动改变现状。促使教师如此成长的条件包括教师敢于暴露自己的"顽症",创设安全、开放的学习氛围,及时分享相关理论,形成相互支持的学习共同体以及获得学校的理解和支持。教育行政部门和教育研究者应关注教师的专业成长,为诸如叙事行动研究之类的教师专业发展活动提供更加有力的支持。  相似文献

This article provides a pedagogical approach to presenting alternatives along with the traditional medical model in the context of mental health treatment and service provision. Given the current influence of the medical model in community mental health, this article outlines a rationale for challenging the model and considering alternative models and/or interpretations of severely disordered behavior. The first premise of this approach, that social workers need to avoid having the deficit-based, problem-saturated, and pathologizing language of the medical (or any other) model dominate their practice, is inherent in all strengths-based approaches to practice. The second premise, that one can utilize the postmodern language of narrative therapy to constructively discuss alternative approaches, expands on previous social work contributions in this area.  相似文献
